Real Estate / property in Lodz - anyone any experience [102]

Yeah I agree with most-the bridge ;-)

Those prices at 5000zl/m2 are too high , specially most of of Lodz was owned by Jews so there may be problems later , with the land laws and stuff.

and there is also one more thing buying off the plan is risky , what if the building firm
goes bust. rising material prices and labour costs. doesn't look good

If you want to invest invest with a second hand property at least you buying something not a lot of prmissess

Love / Polish girls..... Do they want cute aussie guys?? [5]

I find this very very strange as I am fair , Im attracted to the opposite .
If you know anything about biology "like does not attract like".
It is rather the opposite way because
it makes our genome stronger if we reproduce with someone of different race.

Love / WHY DO POLISH WIVES WHO ARE AWAY NOT VISIT THEIR HUSBANDS? [75]

Just do it go see him .
.... hmm .
my advice is just enjoy being in love , go and see
him as much as you can , you only young once and you will only regret what you
haven't done together. In the end who knows maybe he will go back to Poland and
his wife / children maybe not ... maybe you will be together maybe never who knows but at least what you will have is beautiful memories ...

Love / WHY DO POLISH WIVES WHO ARE AWAY NOT VISIT THEIR HUSBANDS? [75]

if you want to hear the more likely truth here its is ...(its my simple inerpretation of your situation so far)
In Poldand age difference is a big thing . most ppl marry within strict 5 years difference and it is more customary that the female is younger. Because for a girl to marry younger

man is like an insult - she will not marry some or be with some gnojek.

Also if he shows photos of you and his wife/ family knows you are older ( no effence just telling maybe how it really is ) they think you are just a kind friend , i do not think they suspect that anything romantic is going on between you two especially if they are from a small town , Polish ppl are Catholic .

He knows a relationship with older women will not work in Poland.

My advice - just enjoy your passion , if you are his lover just be that !do not expect to
get married and stuff cause it will not happen . I was the other woman once it lasted until jelousy got the better of me .... but it is great to be in love !!!

Love / WHY DO POLISH WIVES WHO ARE AWAY NOT VISIT THEIR HUSBANDS? [75]

"you think it is doomed "
That is true i am a bit pessimist , but also a realist ,
in the end husbands come back to their wives,
they feel secure with wife, and often they have to take care of children together
so it is hard for a man not to come back when their children need them. Polish man are proud of their family .
Also i heard that statistics show that 2nd time marriages
last even less than the first time marriages. I think there is too much baggage
ex-husbands ex-wives etc... it is hard for a relationship to develop with all that .

That is why I advice to enjoy the feeling of being in love and being loved while it
lasts and not to worry about the future and to plan the future with him , just accept that life had brought you together and gave you passion . know when to let it go ...

I am just thinking aloud You Debianco will do what you decided, you know your situation the best and you know what to do - just look inside of you and there is an answer.

Love / Polish Engagement and Wedding Traditions [42]

Polish weddings !

- the bride and groom walk into the church together ( the groom meets his bride at her house and they drive to church together )
- before entering the reception room he carries the bride through a threshhold and they break glassess for good luck !
-lots of dancing , eating and drinking at the reception mostly for 2 days !
-the newlywedds remain with the guests do not go off for a honey moon
but remain at the reception

as a guest you don not give gifts but envelopes with cash and flowers ! - not skimping there, however much you can afford.

-think that summarises the polish wedding

Food / Hot tea in Poland; where can I find it? [46]

maybe the reason polish tea tastes different is because in Poland ppl usually make tea essence in a little teapot , as oppose to just using tea bag. You brew the essence first and add some to a cup about 1/4, then fill up the cup with the boiling water.

Life / My neighbours in Poland are stealing all my things [180]

I have an idea - why don't you start growing food for yourself? If you thinking
of running bed and breakfast then you should have your own chickens , eggs and
bacon. Grow your own potatos , they keep well for winter.
in one word be a self sufficient farmer !

Try to make friends and learn from the locals how they run a farm .
Wish you the very best of luck !

Life / My neighbours in Poland are stealing all my things [180]

I don't think he can get his stuff back ... I never heard of such a thing where once
stolen goods will magically appear at the door step .

I think that once the locals will see that he grows his own food , maybe they will
not think of him as a spoiled, rich English guy , but one who tries his best to make
the ends meet, one of them .

my thoughts would be get the local priest to help. if anything he has more power
to get people moving then anyone!

and I totally agree on that one!

Sebastian , Artur , Adam , Przemyslaw or Przemek , Dariusz - Darek were popular when I was born
and for Girls it was Monika we had 4 in my class , Renata , and Ania were also popular but Monika wins !

Just a thought have you herd of a tradition in poland that the first born's name is the name of the paren's first love . It is true for my family. Thats why my mum hates my name because I am named after my dad's first love.

Law / What do Poles think of Chinese products? [49]

When I make a purchase I look for the quality , I am making an investment in the porduct , if it is a t-shirt I choose the one that fits my body , will not fall apart, fade , or shrink . After all I spent my own time looking for the product I do not want to go shopping every week for new same t-shirt . I use the same rules no matter what I purchase (especially now all the talk about CO2 emissions China

should make product that will last ! its not the quantity but quality !

Life / New Polish I.D. card. [Dowód Osobisty] - big fine if you don't apply [55]

I asked my brother about it and
whoever posted this post may be very wrong.
there is no fine if you permenantly live overseas , that is more than 182 days a year.
and one is allowed to use the old Id until the end of March after that , It is illegal
to use the old ones and there is a fine for doing that.

This is the sorty how I underestand it.
