Second that excellent call, and keep on saying it myself. Girls are skinny, but a WOMAN should have curves. :)

Unfortunately year by year there are more and more people who are fat here (especially young people). It's because they eat all this fast food, sweets and so on while they're not do any sport... you know many young people now prefer play some stupid computer games instead go bike, play soccer or sth... sad but true.

Having a fast metabolism will help in keeping you look slim. But, those of you were blessed with a more normal rate of metabolism, consider yourself lucky. It's nicer to be curvier and have the option of working out, dieting (healthfully..) and such than it is to have a celebration over gaining 10lb over a month-2.

Most importantly go out for a walk daily, visit the gym, incorporate vegs and fruits into your diet. No larger than the size of your fist should you need as a daily consumption of meats. Pasta and brown rice for good health and carbs, energy for working out... Drink 8 - 10 glasses of water per day. Water cleanses and replenshes us from the inside out making you look and feel ultimately better than if you only drink when you're thirsty (and by that time you're already dehydrated).

A good friend of mine had an obsession with her body image. After each meal or snack even she would either dance around like a crazy fool, do jumping jacks or take the air-cycle stance and work that a bit. I thought it was rediculous, but years later she's very proud of the way she looks, and who wouldn't be? Years of work into a better state of self has made her confident, attractive, active and very healthy looking.

And do not stop eating or skip breakfasts. Breakfast is the meal which basically strokes your energy source and keeps you going throughout the day. With the lack of nutrients you won't feel able to do the things that your mind and body calls for to look and feel the way that you want to be.

So, just be healthy. Things you want to cut out of your diet are unneccesaries like, soda, orange juice or other sugary and sodium based drinks. Milk is good if you aren't an obsessive-compulsive dairy feind... I try to not drink more than 1-2 glasses per day, and never forget to stay hydrated with water all throughout the day. No one needs pastries, sweets, fatty treats, too much pizza or pastas, too much ice cream or brownies. For breakfast try wheaties or cheerios with fruits. I'm partial to Honey Bunches of Oats. It's not only delicious but is chalk full of heart-healthy goodies.

Key word for weight-loss is discipline, not obsession. If you focus on how you look too much you will loose sight of what it is like to feel good. You want to be healthy not sluggish and horse-drawn.

Sometimes I feel like a vein in my eye is going to explode reading some of these questions.
People get fat because they sit on their asses all day and consume more fats/calories than they work off. To balance this out one should eat proper portions and do something besides sitting around and watching the OC or whatever.

Tips on getting skinny...EXERCISE!!!!!

The best diet is called 'ŻM'... Ż is for 'Żreć', M is for 'Mniej'... "Devour Less' in English :)

but should still apply if you're a human. I realize that we're all different, but exercise is the key.

Yes...but "fat" seems to be a four letter word to girls in UK/Ireland.......and a huge issue, I notice it in my home town....young women carrying way too much around the hips.......but not so in Poland.

Well, in excess anything can. Should be at least 6-8 8oz glasses per day. I don't even drink that much, but it's recommended.

Ok, not all PL women are skinny, they just eat better food and from why I've noticed, like to be active...walking bike riding after meals. Most of the food in the US has preservatives that aren't so good for your body.

Polish food does not make you fat. sitting on your ass in front of the T.V. and eating potato chips makes you fat :)

Drinking lot's of water can definitely help you lose weight. It's proven to speed up metabolism.

Drinking water before vigorous activity will hydrate the body and give it more endurance which in return will allow a person to exercise longer, thus raising the metabolism.

no-one has EVER done a scientific study on this

Do your own study, Frank. Drink a liter of water before walking on a treadmill for 1/2 hour. The next time, don't drink anything and then walk for 1/2 hour. I guarantee you will notice a huge difference in your stamina. Excercise performed while hydrated will increase your endurance and I will stake my life on that!!!!
