Or.. you may easily find a polish folks who could teach you polish.. you could hang out with them, having fun and learning Polish in the same time without spending so much money for.. what you can have for free :)

Definitely the best way of learning a spoken language... and the cheapest :)

So please discuss AND even better alert me to some places where I can cheaply find Polish movies.

1. If you have any friends in Poland - ask them. Old films are very cheap and they can easily send you parcel with DVDs inside.

2. tvpolonia.com/en/about.html tvpolonia - check this. From time to time they are transmitting old, classic films
3. The best choice is imho this: kinopolska.com/usa.php kinopolska

Personally I like Bareja films (Alternatywy 4, Zmiennicy, ...)

I think the problem lies in the fact that if a private individual is selling something that belongs to him he thinks it is the best thing in the world and wants an ENORMOUS amount of money for it.

No, the problem lies in the fact that cars are expensive in Poland. New cars are expensive, so the used are also.

I think another reason used cars are more expensive is simply because of supply and demand - quite simply more people in Poland want to buy old cars and therfore they hold their value better.

That's true... but people in Poland doesn't buy old cars because they adore old cars. They simply can't afford a new cars. The average salary in Poland is about 2300 zł before tax (approx. 2000 zł after tax). Now.. The new Fiat 500 (btw. ugly as hell, small as beer can) costs 47500 zł! Let count: 47500/2000 = over 23 months! You have to work 2 years not buying food to purchase this pile of s**t.

That's why people in Poland buys old cars.

Language / Adjective and adverb comparison [19]

Tough task because there is no comparative form of some adjectives and adverbs.
For example drewniany (wooden). One can say "bardziej drewniany" - more wooden - but it doesn't make sense. It's not obvious even for native speakers :)

I will try anyway:

mokry - bardziej mokry
cienki - cieńszy
wolny (slow) - wolniejszy; (free) - no comparative form
błędny - bardziej błędny

Adverbs
bogato - bogaciej, najbogaciej
brzydko - brzydziej, najbrzydziej
ciekawie - ciekawiej, najciekawiej
gładko - gładziej, najgładziej
prywatnie - no comparative form
publicznie - no comparative form
pusto - bardziej pusto, najbardziej pusto (puściej, najpuściej)
staro - starzej, najstarzej
stromo - bardziej stromo, najbardziej stromo (stromiej, najstromiej)
twardo - twardziej, najtwardziej
wesoło - weselej, najweselej
zdrowo - zdrowiej, najzdrowiej

or
– kogo? dwóch kobiet, komu? dwóm bądź dwom kobietom, z kim? z dwiema lub dwoma kobietami, o kim? o dwóch kobietach.

Rodzaj męski (i nijaki):
– kogo? dwu mężczyzn, komu? dwu mężczyznom, z kim? z dwu mężczyznami, o kim? o dwu mężczyznach
or

Are you using this link? This guy is good at spelling, it doesn't mean he's correct with his grammar.

Yes - example is from this article. If he is not correct then show me and explain to me mistakes.

Some glaring errors in your post.

Correct forms are:
z dwiema lub dwoma kobietami, z dwu kobietami
Yes - the last one is not in common use but it doesn't mean that is not correct.

Don't write "glaring errors" without showing the correct forms and explaining them. I'm sorry but Maciej Malinowski knows better polish language then you... no offence :)

Never! "dwoma" is used only with the masculine gender!

OMG. You think you are right or you know you are right?
Are you a linguist? I don't think so....

Ask linguist or read this:

(search for 'dwoma kobietami" phrase)

Let me explain again: it's not in common use but it is a correct form!
If you don't know it, it doesn't mean it's incorrect!

And also it's how a native would decline dwa.

And Mr. Malinowski is not a reliable source

Find me, please, a justification for the forms you suggested earlier (those in bold):

What I see in dictionary is:

Celownik:
ma końcówkę ~om lub ~óm dla dwa: dwom, dwóm,
ma końcówkę ~em dla trzy, cztery: trzem, czterem,
poza tym jest równy dopełniaczowi (obocznie także dwa - dwu).

I have found it also here:

They sound strange but looks like all forms are correct except:
z kim/z czym? (Narzędnik - Instrumental) z dwu mężczyznami

Although a friend of mine (linguist) said that this is an archaic form.
I cannot prove it now :)

sjf: I think Krzysztof is right - use the safest (most common) form he gave.
