Love / My Perfect Love Story so I thought [73]

Are you healthy? can you walk? do you have food to eat? have a job? Have a roof over your head? Be happy and grateful for what you do have, there are people out there who struggle with daily living. You got emotionally hurt but you're ok. See the positive side. You found out she lied before you married, she cannot be trusted, she was not worth it. Move on with your life and forget about her. Every time you think of her make yourself think about something else. Give it time, you will get over her eventually and some day you will meet someone better than her.

Life goes on.
You are alive, cherish your life, it's always better than death.

Life / What kind of horses are popular in Poland? [21]

I read your dumb post correctly the first time.

If it was dumb then why did you read it?
Let's have a race, I'll ride my Friesian and you can ride your dumb horse.
If you even know how to ride.

Life / What kind of horses are popular in Poland? [21]

The Polish Hussars, who were the best fighting unit known at that time in the world, definitaly didn't use Fressian horses. Krysia, you are hundreds of years off. Do some reaserch.

I did. If you read my post again, I didn't say those were Friesian horses, but their ancestors. And you spelled Friesian wrong, silly boy.

Language / Things Polish people who speak English language say [180]

Polish people can't say "is". they say "ees"
All words ending with "ing" are pronounce "ink". Example: "What are you doink?"
Sometimes the accent is placed on the wrong syllable: Example 3 syllable words: "Madison" Poles usually place the accent on the second from last syllable so it sounds like "Madeeson" instead of "Madison"

USA, Canada / STEVENS POINT, ANYONE? [11]

One of the Wausau radio stations does a Polka show every Sunday.

WDEZ 101.9 FM, Wausau Sunday Polka 7-12AM
WSAU 550AM sat 9-11 Wausau Polka show
WSPT 1010 AM Sat 8-10 Stevens Point Polka time
WYTE 106.5 Sun 7-12 Plover Polka
After hearing all those Polkas you wonder "who did steal that kiszka"?
Every wedding has "Polka Music", every church event has "Polka Music", every year 4th of July has "Polka Music", every corn roast, fair, festival.

The local favorite one is "there is no beer in heaven".
I like walking in the cemeteries in Stevens Point, there are many Polish and German names, I know a lot about the history of early settlers, towns that are no longer here and churches built by mostly German, Irish and Polish settlers. Scandinavians settled in a town west from here, it is called Scandinavia.

Life / Why build a supermarket with 20 checkouts with only 3 till staff? [46]

but we got here self checkouts and i love it! or less then 10 items checkouts so it's faster...

Must be Walmart. It's the only place here that has self checkouts. I love them too. Kmart had them for a while but that didn't go too good for some reason.

Food / Blueberry Pierogi's [30]

I remember in Warsaw once a lady was walking by the blocks yelling and selling "jagody! jagody! jagody!" and people would go and buy from her. You can make blueberry pie, blueberry waffles, blueberry muffins, blueberry yogurt, blueberry icecream, then you wonder why you have blueberry poop. Just like here in Wisconsin we have all these AYCE corn roasts where it's grilled or boiled then the toilets get plugged with corn poop.

USA, Canada / Work ethics in Poland vs US [66]

My first few years at a federal job I got a whole week off in a year! Woohoo.
Few years later I got 2 weeks.
It depends who you work for, I also had sick leave but some jobs don't offer that. And when a baby is born you can get up to 6 weeks off, where in Poland you can have a year of maternity leave.

Love / WHAT TRAITS DO POLISH WOMEN LOOK FOR IN A MAN? [48]

I wasn't born in Poland but lived there for a while and I know some girls would put money - size of income- in the number 1 spot because they like to dress up nice, put a lot of make up and they like to show off that they are better off than others.

But then my closests friends were really down to earth and they would say honesty and someone they can trust and love in the first place. I myself would say all that plus - personality

Love / Polish girls' obsession with marriage [124]

And because there is a loop-hole in the system, they still get the permanent green card even though they used the US citizen.
And this is how it works: A foreigner comes to US on a fiance visa. They marry within 90 days. The alien gets the 2 year conditional green card. If the marriage lasts these two years, the alien gets permamnent green card and if they divorce after he gets the green card, there is nothing the US citizen can do anymore. However if they divorce before the 2 years is up he can still get his green card, all he has to do is file by himself and prove that the marriage was in good faith. Sometime they don't even look at why the divorce occured which is wrong because many Russian women lure Americans to marry them and after they get their conditional green card they pretend they were abused, get false statements and get green card.

On the other hand if they were still married, they have to prove they lived together and show evidence such as filed taxes, bills or mortgages that they had together. But if they just divorce, they can stay.

What a kołowrotek...geeeeez

Life / Are Polish people civilised or not? My thoughts... [52]

When foreigners come to another country only to work, that's what they concentrate on. Money.
They most often barely speak the language, know little about the culture and customs of another country and will stick to each other and to what is familair to them. Some girls feel the taste of freedom from Poland and go wild, cheating on their bfs exploring the unknown..... yuk lol

Life / Why do a lot of Polish people stare and why is good personal hygeine shunned? [108]

Do you also find funny when people don't have enough money for food?

They always find money for piwo and papierosy. They don't care if they stink. Piwo is more important.
In the late 70's/80's people smelled even worse because you couldn't even buy soap in the stores, but now you can buy everything. Some people got used to not washing.
