i have been thru all these stages in different countries

hmm.. interesting.. my experience hasn't been so. i am thinking maybe you really mean acceptance of your presence by others though... or assimilation/integration?

did you always start at denial and then move up or has it been unique beginning (from first impression perhaps) in each instance?

Like many other human abilities it develops through stages.

are you sure about that these are stages? personally i see the first 3 categories diverging from the latter 3. from my observations humans don't seem to really go through these, maybe hover in an area?.. hmm... or is it predisposition? nature/nurture? that puts one in a category?

also, you don't call peeps in poland by their first name unless "allowed" by them. noramlly reserved for friends.. you always start with sir/madam..

Hand kissing is something from older times. I think now you do it only when you want to make a special impression?

that's true but one can still do it with old friends etc.. in one's circles, if you will.

give up your sit to a lady in a train, bus, tram......

If you mean the race issue then some people will stare at you (easpecially If you go to a smaller town) and once a while some drunk guy will try to make a monkey noise but from normal people you shouldn't expect any seroius racism.

i'd have to agree.. you'll be more of a novelty then anything else. smile, be happy, jam, no worries, man. ;)

who can't? really, haven't met a person that couldn't. wouldnn't? yes, definitely but anyone one can handle it.. it's done all over the place. some just do it much better then others but others really have no room to judge.

someone old enough to legally have sex really shouldnt need telling this

My mother is driving me crazy.!!

seems to vbe a polish thing.. none of my foreign (american, latin) friends have this type of issue.. all their mothers are way more supportive instead of tearing you donw.. it must be a cultural thing as my mom is nuts too. although, as of late my dad has been a real arse to my sis.. not sure what gives.. they both hate to give up any control.. ie.. cut the freaking cord.. EVER. lol :D

keep after him.. don't just let him off easy. he needs to be responsible for his actions.. you going after him for support is the responsible thing to do.

i surely didn't say it'd be easy but it is all for the baby. the baby is the one who deserves the highest effort.. May definitely should keep her feelings for the father in check.

i dunno but i am guessing she could pursue him in poland and possibly via EU.. i am not saying it would be easy but the child is no1 here and whatever it needs is paramount.

Ask him if he wants to be named as the father.

ask him? enough of asking has been done.. if he's hte father his names goes on the cert. period.

hey girl, it's kid to be too so stand up for yourself (and the child) and make him take care of his business like he should. also, quit calling yourself stupid and don't take this all on by yourself.. it takes two to make a baby.. why should he not have to take care of his resposibilies? be strong and don't give up.. eff his happiness if it means you'll be living in misery. good luck chica. keep your head up.

If he will refuse, hes a total a*shole and im afraid you can't make him.

sure she can.. drag his arse to court, if you must. the child is now no1.. and this action as well as all the others should be done with that in mind.

USA, Canada / NO VISAS to Canada for Poles in the near future [62]

Why does it suck, plk? I cannot read the Polish article, but from what others wrote, I understand it to mean that Polish people will no longer need a visa to go to Canada? Please correct me if I am wrong, as I may have totally misunderstood.

oops. my bad.. i must've just scanned the headline and and read it as no visas, like US... in fact, they are working on opening the border wider which is aok. :)
