News / Puzzler, what are your TRUE thoughts on Poland and it's place in the EU? [29]

Puzzler

You never answered my question, Puzzly? (post #17)

Personally, I am not as hopefool, oops, hopeful, as you are.

So you would prefer the EU and America be enemies? You would rather the world remain in complete turmoil then to try and find a solution towards world peace?

Love / Dating age difference - my 16 yo is dating a 26 yo Polish guy [102]

don't forget that you also have the god given right to die in a war before you ever taste that first beer.

Actually, an 18 year old soldier can legally purchase and drink alcohol if it is bought and consumed on the military base....he cannot, however, go to a local club in town to get a drink if he is not 21.

News / Puzzler, what are your TRUE thoughts on Poland and it's place in the EU? [29]

Is that because you already live in the EU, Lukasz? Have you ever lived in the USA or even been there for any length of time, or are you basing your opinion on it the same way Puzzler and others say the Polish are judged.....by biased media? I'm not knocking you either way, I am just curious how you came to have your preference. :)

Life / Condoms and the Catholic church in Poland [83]

I think the whole point, G., is the church uses scare tactics to keep it's followers in line. I was raised Catholic, and I for one, do not believe a lot of what is taught in Catholicism. According to the Church, all forms of birth control are a sin.....sexual intercourse is only to be performed by married couples for the sole purpose of procreation. Given this fact, I would say the majority of Catholics have sinned.....even if a couple is married, are you going to tell me the only time they ever have sex is to try to create a baby?

Do condoms prevent HIV and Aids 100 %.....no. The only thing that prevents the disease 100% is abstinence from sex, use of Intravenous needles, and blood transfusions with tainted blood.....Condoms do help with the prevention of STDs and although not 100%, it's dangerous and irresponsible to say they don't help at all.

News / Puzzler, what are your TRUE thoughts on Poland and it's place in the EU? [29]

That's already happening in the UK???

That's what I want to know from Puzzler, melon head;).......In one thread he makes it seem like it's all sunshine and roses for Poles in the UK; In another thread, he makes it sound as if the Poles can't wait to get out of the UK for the terrible mistreatment bestowed upon them. I'm just wondering what his true feelings are, or is he just trying to play devils advocate in each thread?

News / Puzzler, what are your TRUE thoughts on Poland and it's place in the EU? [29]

re: And then again, maybe they won't stay 'here'? Are you some kind of psychic knowing future events? Truly, the Polish people aren't any more enthusiastic about UK. The hate propaganda, the beatings and killings, the exploitation have done their work. Lots of them are moving out already. Others say they will do the same thing as soon as they can. The evidence of this can be seen e.g. on Polish-language websites. Ask your wife to read for you what Poles write e.g. on the Onet about working in UK. So give a sigh of relief, pal. Soon you'll have only your beloved Third Worlders in place of those hated Poles.

re: E.g. people in UK seem to appreciate Russian culture, especially literature. They don't know much about Polish culture, but seem to be open, especially now, to exploration. I haven't noticed any 'cultural' dislike towards us, or anybody else, in them.

Care to explain the contradiction, Puzzler, or is this the reason you chose the name "Puzzler"; to confuse people with your contradicting statements?

If you noticed in the very first post by the thread maker, she said her boyfriend had 2 double beds and 1 single.....why did he not sleep in his own bed and let her have her own? Something is just not adding up if you ask me!

Love / Dating age difference - my 16 yo is dating a 26 yo Polish guy [102]

I live in the US and my 16 year old cousin is dating a 26 year old polish guy

If she also lives in the U.S. and they were to have sexual relations, it could be considered statutory rape, depending on the state. What do her parents have to say about this?

USA, Canada / I want to ship Vodka back to the USA...What are the laws? [23]

they still caught it and pulled us to one side before we boarded the plane and confiscated it.

Really? Hmmm.....that surprises me. For one, I didn't know it was illegal to take with me....I just assumed since I was following the guidelines of the amount to be taken, that I was alright. Oh, well, I got it in and my brothers enjoyed their Vodka.

you are not allowed to carry any "rectified spirits" if you are leaving Poland via aircraft

That's why I packed mine away in my checked baggage.....I knew I couldn't carry any liquids past security.

The laws very from state to state, but for the most part, I believe it is illegal to ship alcohol.....here is a website that lists all the states and their regulations on importing alcohol. It also has a link to the ATF's rules on different types of shipment (personal, etc).

Love / POLISH SIBLINGS SLEEPING TOGETHER! [172]

It was then he explained..
He had been arranging a trip of a lifetime for her birthday.
The £1000 was to pay for Hotel and travel plans.

They were to visit France. and spend 2 weeks in paris.
After explaining.. He left her.
And refuses to answer her calls/Texts/Emails.

What a crock of sh*t! He was cheating on her.....he was found out, so he made up a lame excuse......if he was an honest, loving man, he would have understood why she was suspicious, forgiven her for it, and they would have gone to Paris together.....my guess is he already had plans to do it with someone else.

Love / How to sustain a Long Distance Relationship with a Polish girl [75]

lets hope it works out or he's wasted a lot of time and effort and for what a few tears.

No relationship is wasted time.....I have been in relationships that ended well and some that did not end so well, but I can honestly say, I am grateful for every relationship I have ever been in, including the bad ones....I learned something from each relationship, that has helped me to mold into the person I am today.

I am someone who is in a long distance relationship right now, and I admit, it is difficult at times, not being able to see each other in person, but for me, I think he's worth the time, patience and effort.....again, it's not easy, and I don't know what the future holds at this point, but I am more than happy to give it a chance. I learned a longtime ago that life is too short and you need to follow your heart every once in a while.

Goodluck to you and your girl, Sausage....I hope all works out to your satisfaction.

Love / Why are polish girls more approachable than north american girls [158]

sounds like you have personal problems :/

Biggest UNDERSTATEMENT of the day! Apparently, this young fellow has a major attitude problem so I doubt he could even get one of those "fat cows" as he so eloquently describes them.....all I can say is someone is living in the "BITTER BARN"!!!!;)

Life / Opinions about Radio Maryja [134]

Radio Maryja , I think thats the only place in the Europe where you can call and say straight away what you think about this or that

The only problem with this is that it's under the guise of being a religious program when in actuality it's a political forum with a religious edge.

Life / Opinions about Radio Maryja [134]

the Vatican, that is the present (German) Pope (greatly venerated in Poland, by the way) has found nothing wrong with Radio Maryja, and so has the Polish Episcopate.

Very misleading, Puzzly.....in fact the controversy surrounding RM has split the Polish Episcopate.....some support and some don't. Also, it was JP II (Poland's Pope) who although initially supported RM, became very disconcerted with the fact that they were spewing more Politics than the word of God.

One of the reasons the Vatican does not sanction it, because they are political when what they should be is more concerned with spreading the word of the lord.

They were laughing WITH you.

Good point, because I always had to laugh at myself when trying to speak Polish.....Kudos to those who can actually speak it!

Life / Why don't Polish service workers smile? [36]

poles are a serious bunch

Yes they are;) Actually, I found the Polish people I came across didn't smile very much, but I attribute it to the culture....it's not rudeness...it's just the way it is...I'm somewhat outgoing, and I also found that when I attempted to speak Polish (which my total vocab is very minimal) people were more receptive and more likely to smile (they may have been laughing at me, but that's ok). Fortunately for me, there was almost always someone around who spoke both Polish and English to translate.....one thing I have always admired about Europe is that many people learn more than one language.
