News / ARE POLISH PEOPLE TAKING OUR JOBS OR DOING OUR JOBS??!! DISCUSS. [126]

SOME ONE LIKE A BAR MAN FOR EXAMPLE EARNS OVER £13.50 PER HOUR!

If you got a job as a waiter or bar tender you could make much more than that in tips every night. Everyone complaining here just get a job waiting tables or serving drinks. Sell pretty roses in clubs. You can make more than minimum wage that way.

Life / Scientology in Poland [24]

L.Ron is a complete caricature of himself. Why would anyone take him seriously? Bozo the Clown might as well start his own religion. He'd make a lot of money.

What from the early 17th century, thats right and think yourself lucky we made the US youre country of choice no less. Its current events were discussing here sweetheart, get with the program.

People adjusted to you, you can adjust to them :D
You guys aren't any different than the people in the lands you colonized, although you are in a better position than they were. You still have a little control over your country.

Life / Communion, why do only half of church-goers in Poland take it? [41]

I have now been to two Masses in Poland (in two different cities). The church is full- but when it comes to receiving Communion; it seems that only about 1/2 the church-goers go up to receive it. Curious if anyone knows why? At our church in the states, you always see a few not receiving the host, but I was surprised at 1/2.

Oh, there could be lots of reasons. One reason is they haven't confessed. They might have sinned and feel unworthy to take it that particular mass. Maybe they haven't been confirmed.

The funniest thing of all is when English complain about immigration. It's hilariously ironic beyond belief!! The English people have done more immigrating than any other people on earth, except for Spanish, maybe. Whenever I see posts made by Englanders complaining about immigration it's just... I don't know...it's too ironic for words.

News / ARE POLISH PEOPLE TAKING OUR JOBS OR DOING OUR JOBS??!! DISCUSS. [126]

We are the masters and were invited and have contributed, we also intigrated...most Australians are actually Brits! My family amongst them....Do you think my family stick out! No they made their life they were give practically free passage to Aus...they dont even consider themselves English....This is the diifference!

Yes, if the English did something like that again, people would be leaving the overpopulated Island like they did back then. More jobs and resources will be left. It's like you all are a pond that needs an overflow valve because you have had too much rain and are about to flood. This is the same reason why Brits colonized in the first place: not enough room on that Island.

EVERYBODY WORLDWIDE F*CKING SCREAM IT OUT!!!! THERE IS TOO MUCH TENSION BOILING BETWEEN US BRITS AND YOU LOT AND THE REST OF THE WORLD TOO! IM GETTING SICK TO THE BACK TEETH OF HEARING IT ALL!!! LETS ALL PUT THE WORLD TO RIGHTS HERE:D

Yeah but it was you brits who went out and conquered the world. Maybe some of you Brits should go out and once again settle somewhere else besides Great Britain? Then you could find lots of jobs. It's like musical chairs :D

I think it's time for a second Empire. Think about it, if lots of Brits went out once again and colonized, there would be enough jobs for the remaining Brits and all immigrants inside Britain.

News / Should Poland let in refugees from USA ? [80]

Would you be so accepting of half of Harlem moving to Poland?

I wouldn't be accepting if they moved here and I'm in the US. Harlem is way too ghetto.

News / What needs to happen in the world so that Poland and Russia form alliance? [297]

It could happen if the South Pole suddenly became inhabitable. It would be easier for people to move down there and get along. There wouldn't be cities and nation states competing with each other and they could start from scratch and do everything their own way. It stands a good chance of succeeding.

History / What would Europe look like with Polish-Lithuanian-Ukrainian Commonwealth today [209]

I don't think 66% are obese at all, more like 10% I'd say but I'd have to think about the BMI relative to your average American. It might be closer to 30% in that case.

Nationally, it's more than 10%, I'm sure. Some people start out fat from the beginning, others balloon while svelt in their youth. It depends on the age group, maybe. 35-50 yr olds, maybe 50% are overweight. 30% of those might be obese. Some cities are healthier, too, especially those out west.

Life / Scammed in Poland again [49]

It's a problem everywhere. That's why, where I live, it's customary to always make them do the work first and then pay them after, when they are through. We never ever pay anyone the entire amount first EVER...the only exception was when I got my windows replaced. I paid half first so they could order them and paid the balance after they were installed.

Every so often there's a news story about a little old lady who paid first and was scammed out of her money or people who paid contractors up front before the job was done. They only pay a certain amount with contractors, so there's not much you can do, but for any small job always pay after the work is finished or they disappear with your money.

Food / Is it just me, or is the Polish diet rather unhealthy? [119]

Have to say my two favorite foods are beets and salmon because of nutritional content. You get a lot of nutrients from them both. I eat both nearly every day (but not together).

530 calories seems high. You would have to do some physical activity after eating one. I don't know how that compares to their other sandwiches. I usually stick to the lite menu endorsed by that guy that lost a lot of weight eating there everyday (forgot his name).

Seanus, you can try some tuna and light mayo on your Sonko rice crackers. If you don't eat a lot of them, it would be a nice alternative to a fattening sandwich.

Btw, beetroot is very good for you, so is cabbage. Those ingredients might mitigate some of the more unhealthy ones, like food fried in fat. When I make a salad I always chop up a beet and add it.

Even if you order wheat bread, it's usually not actually whole-wheat flour.

That's too bad. I wish it were, but restaurants cheat.

Seanus, next time I'm in, I'll check. I think it says on the napkins. I can't recall if the Tuna 6 inch is on the lite menu.

You mean the puffy rice crackers? Those are a great option for calorie counters. Do you put anything on yours?

They have a low calorie menu too. All of their stuff is better than french fries and burgers. They carry Fuze Green and Unsweetened tea. The idea being, sandwich shops, like Subway and local chains, I hope, will eventually win out over the Mcdonalds franchises, KFC and the like. KFC isn't that good, anyway. Their chicken is greasy. I can't stand their chicken thighs.

I would rather go to Subway than a fast food place like KFC or Mcdonalds. I get a six inch Oven Roasted Chicken Breast Sub on Monterry Cheddar bread with cucumbers, lettuce, tomatos, green peppers, pickles, and onions. I hope Sub sandwich places become more popular.

Life / How often do you think Poles smile :) [58]

What about :[ ?
It's not a frown or a smile, either one.
Yes, a compromise. Any of the mouth lines can be interpreted as such...even the slanted ones :/
Mouth ramps.

Life / How often do you think Poles smile :) [58]

I'd rather people be true to themselves. If they are overjoyed, yeah, smile. It's irritating when people want others to smile all the time just for the sake of smiling. I've known people who nag others like that.

If someone is in a bad mood quit tickling them to get them to laugh.
