Law / I want to move my bussines to Poland [13]

I want to put a dance studio under my supervision and a teach tango, salsa, cha-cha-cha to many latin styles.
I speak english and spanish. I would have to take a intensive course of polish and german.

If you are good at dance then I think you can succeed. Think about moving to cities like Warsaw or Cracov... like sb said before - now it's good time... maybe a little bit too late, but still..... now, after tv shows like 'Taniec z gwiazdami', 'You can dance', 'Gwiazdy tancza na lodzie' almost everyone in Poland wanna dance :D lol :>

btw - good advice - find yourself some business partner - native Polish speaker with some 'business' knowledge

Life / Funny pictures from Poland [23]

fart is also luck... hell it's difficult to explain ;) maybe fart is just temporary luck... like I don't know... 'ale fart wygrałem 1000zł!' - "what a lucky break, I won 1000zl!" (does it make any sense?)

I found it is similar to English 'lucky break' definition:

en.wiktionary.org/wiki/lucky_break

UK, Ireland / All That Manners Business [I'm Polish, moved to UK as an au pair.] [87]

It will sound like some tv slogan... but.. I don't care :D

My advice:

Just don't do anything against yourself... live your life, follow your own way, do whatever you want, be happy, gain professional and life experience and then use it. Use it to make your life better.

Work / How hard/easy is to find a job in PL for a non-EU with european MSc.? [6]

Well, salary in your field is quite high - sth between 5-15k PLN (depending on city, company, experience). but... as a graduate your salary should be no lesser than 3k PLN and rather no higher than 5k PLN (at a beginning).

You will have to look for some international companies. Polish ones won't hire someone who doesn't speak Polish ( with some exceptions - like you are really high qualified specialist in some not-so-common IT field..... ).

Warsaw, Cracov, Wroclaw - these are cities where you will find some international IT companies.

Work / How hard/easy is to find a job in PL for a non-EU with european MSc.? [6]

I'm an IT specialist, MSc., 4 year working experience

This means nothing... tell exactly what do you do and then we will talk about salary which make Poles on such position. Then if you are lucky you will find some international company which hire foreigners in Poland.

Life / What nation Poles like the most? [56]

For many Poles, the US is seen as the land of opportunity

_was_ - it is the past now... - it's the past since the moment we joined EU and can work in places like UK, IE etc.

I don't know anybody who would even consider moving to the US nowadays.

That's a really good site!

I know :D I also use it sometimes when I don't know how to pronounce some English words... it reads quite ok.

Ok.. and when I'm too lazy to read news then I also use it, for example here:

(right corner - 'Odsłuchaj' button) ;-)

Language / Panowie, panie [4]

Am I correct in thinking thst 'panowie' is the plural of 'pan'?
'Panie' is the plural of 'pani'?

correct

And 'państwo' translates as 'family'?

not correct - depends on context, examples:

Panstwo Kowalscy - Mr and Mrs Kowalscy
Prosze Panstwa (jakis wystep) - Ladies and gentlemen (some show)
Panstwo - country

... and probably some others ...

family = rodzina

UK, Ireland / Average salary in UK [6]

Hi people....

I'd like to know how much native speakers in the UK earn... let's say we are talking about big cities like London....

how much will earn guy in some hypermarket (like Tesco)? What about accountants, school teachers, nurses others?

We are talking about gross salary per year....

Is 50k GBP / yr good or very good salary in London for average English guy?

Thanks in advance :> Any links with statistics also appreciated...

Life / How do you Poles feel about the fact that so many Poles work abroad? [145]

My point of view.....

I'm 23 now.... work in IT field.

One week ago I moved to Warsaw where I work now... in one year time I will move to UK/London to make good money (~50k GBP gross salary/yr). One year in UK and I will back to Poland and try to make some business with friends... 2 years later i will go to Australia to live there .... I think also about Dubai..... but i don't know... Sydnay seems to be more civilised place to live in. What I think about emigration? Nothing... if we have possibility then we should do everything we can to make our lifes better.
