Life / Luxury cars in Poland [42]

Do Polish people can afford very expensive cars?

Only big company owners, government workers, party leaders. An average person - not at all. But not only in Poland.

USA, Canada / 2008 U.S. Presidential Election according to Polish and foreign people [90]

There's no sense in these pre-elections where media suggest whom to choose. Each candidate should have equally the same coverage in the media and only then it would make sense.

Obama - he's a hope for the change, but he needs to specify what the change is all about. He also should work on appearing to look... older. Currently he looks too young and too "cool" to be the US president. He needs more grey hair, more tired eyes. Now he's more like a cool Snoop-Dog rather than a future president.

Clinton - I somehow don't see her as a president. Maybe a president of a city, but not the whole country. It takes guts to do the job. It seems she wants to find "her own voice" in every state - as long as people vote for her. She doesn't have her own and strong personality.

Edwards - I like his little fights with Clinton. But he doesn't look like a strong personality which is needed for a president. At times looks too intimidated or shy.

McCain - would be fine, but his being superstitious (and openly talking about it in the media) disqualifies him. When there's a threat to the country and it's not raining, he won't make a decision until it rains..?

Romney - needs to be more open and show more energy. I don't exactly know what is his stake on the main issues. But that's probably because of uneven time in the mass media..

I would like to see Ron Paul and other candidates more on the media, but there's no chance.

Food / Christmas Dinner in Poland [33]

It is true. But it is said it's also for a person in need (like homeless people) and that is represented by Jesus too.

UK, Ireland / Polish kids in UK education system [57]

Polish kids are said to be smarter overall than their British peers. Not sure about their English though since they most likely speak Polish at home and watch Polish TV/games.

Law / Start IT business in Poland [17]

I'm not sure if Microsoft is very popular in Poland; people use Linux now as it's for free. What would you exactly be doing as a consultant?

Language / Past tense after 'by' [4]

Yes, it relates to the future but is said now so "in order to be better [in the future]" makes most sense to me.

Real Estate / Poland property boom over???? [54]

property prices in Poland will continue to increase until they have reached a level similar to their Western European counterparts

Right. But then you should also assume Poles don't live in Poland, only their brothers from the West live in Poland - because then you only take the real estate prices on the West, but ignore average salary of Poles versus Westerners.

Real Estate / Poland property boom over???? [54]

There is no doubt prices have stopped going up in Krakow in general. The average per m2 price is now around 7500 PLN for the entire city and suburbs, though in the centre you can pay anywhere from 10000-20000 PLN/m2.

$3000 per one square meter? No, thanks.. still too much, considering an average apartment is very small (50-60 square meters).

Love / Divorced Polish women [63]

Polish men can be picky (don't know why), but outside Poland the issue of a divorced Polish woman is not that important.

Life / Moved to Poland - Came back after 6 months [11]

Was living in Poland much cheaper than in the UK? I don't mean London as it is the most expensive city, but other parts of England. And you came back alone, not with a girlfriend I assume....

Travel / Suwalki tourism - info please [25]

As far as I remember, Suwalki is considered the coldest town overall in Poland (also in summer). Not to mention winter.

Life / Moved to Poland - Came back after 6 months [11]

Thanks for great retrospection. May I ask what exactly were you looking for in Poland - was it like starting a new life or more like vacation or relax for a year or two in a new country? What made you go and live in Poland in the first place?

Life / Moving to Jaworzno area. Any American TV channels there? [6]

If you have satellite, that should be available for sure. Alternatively on cable TV - the hardest part might be to get ESPN which isn't popular in Europe; Discovery and National Geographics are quite possible.

Life / Best Euro Pop shows in Poland 2007 [5]

Very good; if I was born in the US I wouldn't even know about the existance of such music (and I do have a chance to watch many popular TV programs from MTV to VH1 and radio stations - they won't play such music here..).
