No, no... The Karta Polaka thing is for people from the former Soviet Union, who are not allowed to have dual citizenship. In your case... when a parent is a Polish citizen then citizenship is passed down on children... So I think you should get It, however there definately will be a lot of paper work and other stuff - I've got no idea about detailed procedures, use the search engine there were similar topics on the forums.
I know there have been some new reforms after joining the EU including the Karta Polaka and so we are looking for help to navigate this.

I generally agree except the poor east and rich west stereotype. Draw the lines on the map between Warsaw, Kraków, Katowice, Wrocław, Poznań, 3city and Warsaw and vast majority of Polish economy is located inside of that area. The rest (not only east but also west and north) is poor. Look at Pommerania. There's hardly anything between 3 city and Szczecin. There's less than 2 million people living on the area of Holland.

If you cook at home It's really cheap but If you want to eat out the cost obviously skyrocket.
In my opinion you should count in 500 PLN a month - the salaries are paid here monthly anyway. I saw your other topics and you should think about giving up a car. The price of fuel and insurence is high. The most importent cost is the rent anyway and remember that many owners are trying to ripp off foreigners.
