USA, Canada / Why aren't Polish people immigrating to Canada instead of the UK? [148]

Why do Polish choose the UK over Canada? Well they've obviously heard how sexy us British are. Now who in the right mind would choose a Canadian over a Brit? :) Even

Canadian and American women love us... isn't that true! "Oh I love the British accent!" YES I'M SURE YOU BLOODY DO!

...Oh and the fact that Poles may need a visa to enter Canada...

Love / Confused, a Polish girl disappeared after I talked and danced to her [44]

Not really groping we were dancing really close but it was her who started grinding meand taking my hand and wrapping it around her waist. It was just a little crazy.

Nowt wrong with that. As long as you didn't go a step too far, although it can often be tempting.

Seriously, you're best off talking to her. We don't know the girl. She's probably waiting for you to approach or perhaps she's a bit shy or embarrassed of what happened that night. Perhaps she's asking the same question you asked in another forum. You'll never know until you find out for yourself!

It sounds like she was hammered, had some fun and is letting you know not to take that night too seriously. I did this once. I snogged a girl that used to be my ex girlfriend when I was pissed but I deliberately ignored her to let her know not to take it too seriously. I was wrong I know, but I spoke to her again a few days later. Perhaps she'll do the same. Why don't YOU talk to her? Don't bring up the night though. Just a "hi, are you ok?"

By the way, you didn't grope her, put your hand down her knickers or owt did you lol?

Language / nice things to say to a girl in polish [103]

Do you want to get a slap on your face or something?
It means: a nice piece of ass

I knew what "fajna dupa" meant. I've used it on many occasions but just teasing them. When I put "need this" what I meant was the pronunciation which I got :)

Love / What is an acceptable dating age range in Poland? [51]

my mate who is 22 is going out with a 35yr old guy. fair enough it's not THAT much of an age gap but that guy is certainly far from being a hot looking 35yr old. he's a scruff and a slob, always wearing filthy clothes and threatening other guys not to talk to her cos he gets really jealous. they are about to move miles and miles away, just the 2 of them... im kinda worried but there is nothing i can do, they seem happy. he's a weirdo...

Send her my way then :P There are probably no decent looking men where you live O.O

Seriously though, what is the attraction to older men? They're going to pop their clogs in about 10yrs time which is no time at all. Is it money? Experience? Maturity? Security? Or do women just like old fogies? O.O

UK, Ireland / Tell me whats the best way to integrate in england [26]

No no no lol. I'm telling the author of this thread to research his destination to the UK before making the move. I'm warning him not to just move to any old place. That's what alot of Poles make the mistake of doing...

Love / What is an acceptable dating age range in Poland? [51]

There is a guy that I know aged 43 who currently has a relationship with a 21yr old. It has been going on for about a year. Why do women choose men of that age I do not know. I know a few early 20 yr olds that go with 35-40odd yr old men. If a 21 yr old guy was to have a relationship with a 38-40odd yr old woman it would be considered gross!

Believe me mate, when I reach 38-40 I'll still be flirting with 20yr olds...!

UK, Ireland / Tell me whats the best way to integrate in england [26]

The best way to integrate is through communication IN ENGLISH. Talk as you would talk to your native men. Have a joke. Ask questions about the English language that you find difficult. There will be words that you will not understand, such as slang. Teach them a few Polish phrases. Go out drinking with workmates. It's simple. Just do what you do in England as you would in Poland. The only difference is the language which you will get to grip with the longer you stay.

Try that. Have a look at employment agencies too (although these are often run by scoundrels). With better English, applying directly for jobs found advertised in local papers is not a bad idea.

An employment agency should be used as a last resort ONLY. I wouldn't recommend anyone going with an agency without first finding a job that offers a permanent contract. Note that an agency is temporary employment and can leave you without a job for weeks without given notice. Contact the Job Centre for for help in finding a PERMANENT job. jobcentreplus.gov.uk

What many Polish people make a mistake of is not doing any research on the place they're moving to in the UK. With perfect planning, research and patience you'll find an area that is peaceful, pleasant and a joy to live in. Those that do not plan, research or have patience generally move to areas of high crime. Dumps. Birmingham is a s--hole. Same goes for Nottingham, although there are a huge number of Polish there. I would recommend Kirkham, Wesham, Garstang, Fleetwood, Freckleton etc in The Fyldes of Lancashire. The crime is much lower than the national average in the Fyldes and there are considerably much less Asians/Africans. There are no "Asian communities" or "Black communities." It's a white area. I live in Kirkham and if you like to bring up your children in a safe, friendly, trustworthy town with plenty of activities then you'll love it. We also have police presence on the streets as there is a police station up the other side of town so you'll very rarely see any crime. I've yet to see ONE criminal act since I've moved here a year and a half ago, touch wood.

I'm going on and on I know but I stress.... DO SOME RESEARCH ON THE PLACE YOU WANT TO MOVE TO! If you pick the wrong place you'll know about it. If you pick the right place you'll love it! Keep away from big cities.

I highly recommend choosing a town in the Fylde Coast, North-West of England in Lancashire. Statistically it is one of the best places for standard of living.

Take a look at these statistics of the Fyldes. Click the links that are of interest to you, such as 'Crime, Justice and Safety', 'Economic Performance,' 'Housing and Households' etc and compare them to the rest of the UK. You'll see that it is one of the best places to move to. Birmingham is not a good place to move to at all.

Good luck!

Work / Americans teaching english...your help please! [51]

In Uk a dyke is a low wall holding back an area of water....In USA it is a woman in comfortable shoes.....

A dyke in the UK is like a ditch with waterway. I used to swing from one side to the other on a rope tied to a tree when I was younger. I often fell in the dyke and came home drenched. A dyke is also a 'lesbian.' Dyke has two meanings in the UK. I don't know about the U.S though.

USA, Canada / Do you plan to travel to/from the US? Do not take your laptop. [15]

I don't NEED to bring my laptop knobsacks. My computer/laptop is for leisure purposes ONLY not for businesses. The laptop stays at HOME. People that spend 24/7 chatting in chatrooms/forums are just SAD.

I'm off to florida next year and I'll make sure there are no computers or laptops on holiday. Internet Cafe is a no-no. Laptop is a no-no. I can't stand people that spend 24/7 on a friggin computer...!

USA, Canada / Are holidays to Florida popular in Poland? [21]

My hotel has 3 swimming pools, 2 of which are heated, not that they'll need heating at that time of year lol. Don't you worry I'll be going everywhere and doing EVERYTHING. How much did you pay for your car insurance? I know UK car insurance is invalid in the U.S.
