Work / Any Law Enforcement Officers (Police) from Poland here? [40]

they are given a stick to hit people with G but as far as i am aware, regulations stipulate that they are only allowed to hit them on the shoulder

Unless nobody is look and then they can give them a right good old kicking :)

UK, Ireland / 713,000 new foreign workers in UK [44]

Its funny you say about Russian tourists, my parents spend quite a lot of time out in Cyprus and its full of Russians there.

Also when I was in Czech Republic last year I spent some time Karlovy Vary and most of the construction was being done by Russian firms and a great deal of the tourists were Russian...Its quite obvious that certain Russians have plenty of money :)

Very interesting that you ask this, our Policing is somewhat sparten these days, the community Police man is pretty much a thing of the past. I would imagain the illegals get help from other foreigners who have gained some form of legal status in the UK....

The Home Guard in the UK were older men, but you must remember a lot of them had already fort in the WWI so had vast experience.

The thing is the UK is the lack of resources and the more that enter the country the hard it gets...

rachvt

size 6 stock is limited generally because its not a size that is a big seller - so there are usually less in that size ordered, but also in general (due to the more shaply female these days) they are the sizes that are left, I would love to know the places that still have size 10 left because I can never find them....

Ranj, if you are a 4 / 6 in the US then you will be 6/8 - 8/10 in the UK, not sure if they size the same as do here in the UK, they have made sizes more generous so in actual fact size means nothing hence the reason we are bringing in euro sizes which go by the actual size - i.e. 30 cm, 32cm etc....good luck in ya bargain hunting :)

back on topic, Poland is good for reasonably priced shoes.

Love / How do I get my Polish girlfriend back?? [26]

Got a ticket.
Wish me luck

Good luck, but remember when someone tells you they dont love you anymore, thats one of the hardest things to do, she didnt do it lightly (Im sure) she did it because she obviously had her reasons and I personally think you should respect that. Its hard enough breaking it off with someone without them constantly badgering you.

Sorry to sound so unromantic folkes but I can sympathise with his x.

Why can English people not afford to have children but immigrants can?

Its all about standard of living, if you come from a thrid world country and then come to the UK, where you get money off the government then its quite easy to understand why they have so many.

Whilst English people feel they want a good standard of life for themselves and their children - financial stability. Yes agree it is possible to manage and have children, but most people want more than to just manage, hence the English have fewer children its all about quality of life not pumping out kid after kid.

I can understand that you may think it sounds dubious, but I have no reason to believe that she has lied about this since she's gains nothing by telling a few close friends and also I have friends that are health visitors and mid wives who said similar things. Whilst the English think a couple of years between children is the norm, africans and pakistanis dont, they still have the mentality they had in their own country and dont understand that the mortality rate is low in the UK hence the birth rate is a lot higher.

Are you saying English people are having lots of babies or no babies?

The birth rate has dropped, whist English people find that they can not aford to have children, there are those that come in to the UK that find it quite easy to have at least 5, you do the maths.

And last summer circa. 2,000 african refugees were re-settled in M/c (source a friend at M/c City Council) and given the rate that they breed, goodness knows how many there are now (source on breeding a have friends that are midwives)

News / How Poles truly feel about their situation in Poland and being in EU? [76]

re: Poland was very slow indeed in allowing the English in to their country

Have you thought for one moment that Michal may have lived through a time where this was possible? Rather than shout, think, Michal has lived in a different time to you and I and has a different perspective...its not so hard to try and look through another persons eyes for a moment, try it you might learn something. We dont all have the same views, but we learn from others by listening.

I take it you must live around Rusholme or Levenshulme or the like Amathyst?.....

Actually no I dont, but I work in Manchester so I see how many foreigners there are...one doesnt have to live in a area what is over run to know that M/c is over run!

- Well, if the figures are unknown, then maybe it's possible that 'the figures' for the Poles are considerably smaller

No, it would suggest that the figures are higher.

No Amathyst, that is way out- 25% would mean around 15 million people out of 60 million

No offence but where in gods name did you get 60m from - those figures are older than Noahs arck! Oh and if you knew the figures of people (English) who are leaving England and the amount of English (Im not counting British) that having children, then you might want to think abou those figures again, just think of all those british born babies!

News / How Poles truly feel about their situation in Poland and being in EU? [76]

and are laughed off by foreigners who see us only as cheap labour.

I dont think thats true to be honest, I think maybe in the beggining certain Polish people took the lower paying jobs (remember English people in these jobs are paid the same) but the better the language skills become and the more confident a person becomes the better their status will become if they have the right qualification to get a job more suited....IMHO.

Im a Pole living in Poland and thats my view, sorry if its disappointing.

It was honest and thats all good.

UK, Ireland / Flooding in Northern England [74]

As B woo said.... they aren't a third world country.

We look after our own

The only down side is which has already been stated, insurance will rise which is a bumer but thats life....What got me is when they were telling us on the news how much it would cost they bloody well said it in dollars and not pounds...how rude!

so my question is why isnt the US trying to have a better reputation by helping out?

Im sure they do, we just dont need it in the UK we are a wealthy developed country but its really nice that you have the thoughts that you have, thank you on behalf of the English forum members x..

Love / Which is better? Being single or being in a relationship? [92]

It is all a bit of a vicious circle, I have no friends so I don't go out, so I don't meet anyone, so my confidence deminishes, so I retreat further into my shell, etc etc.

Mr K. In your neck of woods (Cork) its a vibrant place to be, suggest you get in touch with your friends and start to have some kind of life again as difficult as it is, small steps

Life / do polish girls get pregnant while in school? [28]

Goldie, one of my oldest friends became a single mother after her husband feked off back to Greece because he didn't like the weather here! She has waitressed whilst studying for a degree, she gets tax credits and her tips have helped, people like her and tele are the ones to be admired because they chose to work - in fact my friend has bought her council house in this time, so if someone has a goal and is willing to work then they rip the benefits. I cant say Im happy that my tax goes towards silly girls who think having a kid is fun - a "one for my syndrome"! but I know they dont have it easy, its just they have no expectations and so what little they get they make do with....
