Love / Someone please explain this to me [14]

Right, you don't have to get rid of all the pictures because in 20-30 years from now, you will still remember the person but you will be changed, more mature and will look at from a different perspective and laugh at the things you did when you were younger.

Getting rid of pictures will not erase the memmories.

Love / Met a polish boy last summer [6]

When I spoke Polish around my x-husband's family, they thought it was very rude and inconsiderate of me. When I speak English around Polish people, they think it's cool and don't think it's rude at all, they listen and want to learn the language.

So if someone is speaking in their native language around you, it's because it's easier and it doesn't mean they talk about you... :)

Life / Can you think of any famous Polish personalities? [147]

Count Casimir Pulaski—was a young Polish soldier who valued freedom so much that he left his partitioned nation of Poland to come to America to fight in the Revolutionary War against the British. He was fatally wounded at the battle of Savannah in 1779

Life / Most famous, respected Polish last names? [46]

Depending where you live in Poland.
Some areas in smaller villages are famous for Szewczyk, Stolarczyk, Wąsik and other areas are famous for names ending with ski.

Travel / Beware the peacocks at Lazienski Park in Warsaw [36]

Earthworms are now attacking people. You can't go for a walk in the woods safely anymore because they sit in trees and jump on your neck and choke you.

They got fed up for being used as bait.

News / American wanting to know about views from Poland [37]

Polish people who have never been to America know it from TV only and base their opinions on it. They show high-crime movies and think that's the way it really is. A Pole once told me he is afraid to go to the US because they shoot everybody.

UK, Ireland / The Problem i have with Culture Differences (UK + Polish) [32]

Oh yes, the cultural differences. People in Poland generally keep to themselves, they don't go around smiling at everything and everybody. Some do look sad or mad and they like to complain about everything and are cautious and don't trust too many people. But once you talk to them, they are very kind, good and generous people. Different culture, different behaviour. That's the way it goes.

You go to Africa and they will totally blow you away with eating bats and maggots...

USA, Canada / Amnesty for Illegal Immigrants in the US [7]

One thing for sure, it will cost more money to get a visa. The fiance visa, which is now $170 will go up this summer to $1028. The adjustment of status which is now $395 will cost $895. Most fees will increase between $300-$800. So if anybody is thinking about any of this, better do it now, or else you'll pay more.

USA, Canada / My personal (Polish) view on USA. [105]

in the U.S.A you need to show off with $$$ , house , car and other material possesions.

Not true. The majority of Americans are living form pay-check to pay-check trying to make ends meet. They work hard, pay for their homes, pay taxes and not everyone can afford a new car.

The ones who can afford new cars and toys are the illegal immigrants who come to this country, work and don't pay taxes. I know of some Polish people who are here illegally. They work but don't pay taxes. They have a new $30.000 car, new $25.000 boat and a new $10.000 cycle, they have the most expensive cell phones, best TV's, etc. They like to show off to their friends and family in Poland what they have.

I don't know any Americans who can afford so many new toys.
