UK, Ireland / Polish Education Grading and Uk Edu. Grading? [73]

I think you will find that if a person gained their degree after they went in to the EU it counts..

Stupidwelsh

Both of my brothers work in Mental Health and to be honest its not a good time for a non national to try and get in to nursing...just arent the jobs for the highly qualified English, so a non national has no chance, they interview from within and even though the job might be advertised (as by law) an outsider has little or no chance.

UK, Ireland / Crime in london versus Crime in Poland. [24]

I tend to agree but its not the black kids that were born here, lots of algerians and africans living in the UK these days, dont get me wrong (l lived near Moss Side for a year and know all too well about gang culture) the black kids who have been in this country for generations are in to the gang thing, but thats usually fighting each other - Algerians however are a nasty bunch -

Love / Feminism effects both sexes in a different way - opinions? [115]

I see....so have you ever slapped a guy for making a remark or unwanted compliment A

I may have slapped someone for touching me up in a club when it wasnt invited, thats just rude...and over stepping the mark, but if someone just says something, no I dont think Id do that....

if a guys comes up to me and says i have a nice ass i tell him off and stuff

I personally just take it as a compliment.....dont see the point in getting het up about something like that...fine it might be a little bit disrespectful, but sometimes its a bit amusing...I just tend to smile and shake my head...I wouldnt put up with at work off off a male colleauge though.

Love / Feminism effects both sexes in a different way - opinions? [115]

I think feminism is a positive thing if not taken too far, there are certain jobs that are not suitable for a women - heavy lifting manual jobs.

Also think a woman can be femanine whilst being a feminist, I personally think the whole "burning the bra" thing is what got being a feminist a bad name. In the UK we have had a women PM and have quite a few women MP's, however there will always be a divide between women and men, in some golf clubs in the UK women dont have the same voting rights, they were until recently not allowed in certain areas of the Royal Legion, so equal rights are still not across the board in the UK.

If being a feminist means if a women believes if she works as hard as a man then she should have the same opportunities as a man, then yes I would say I am a feminist.

Language / is an education necessary to learn Polish? [10]

plus knowledge might be a bit but basic only right?

Correct, the composition alone of Polish sentenses is difficult adding to that the different sounds of letters and the complexity of the femainine, masuline and nutral - then there are the numbers which are also f,m,n - my lessons have been quite indepth so learning has been gradual and very difficult..

News / BRAIN DRAIN ON POLAND [101]

I agree with your post, because I have a friend that is doing just that with her boyfriend, but, what about those that dont have the choice to leave Poland, those that are young with families? Who are there trying to make it a better place, why should they fight for a better Poland only for those who have done well overseas to come back and increase property prices, because that's what will happen.

News / BRAIN DRAIN ON POLAND [101]

But would you not agree that the economy is suffering because of this and as a whole the country will suffer if the people leave? I think Poland has to address the situation and that means people speaking out, you are a strong country with young people who are politically aware, I fail to understand how you can let a government govern who are inadequate. The UK prosper because these educated hungry (I use the term hungry - as a metaphore - they want so much out of life) young professionals arrive here and in major cities they are taken on in high profile jobs....going are the days that Polish are considered the cleaners, Polish people are professionals and are making their mark.

News / BRAIN DRAIN ON POLAND [101]

Im not fully aware of the facts and figures, but I am aware that young educated Polish people are leaving Poland in search of a better life - when I say life I mean a life that brings more opportunities and of course more money. Whilst this is a good thing for the individual, what does this mean for the country? As a country that has been so strong to become what it has today and then to have so many leave, what does this say? I understand from a friend that is Polish, she is here to save and to buy a property in Poland, so that means future investment which is good, UK get tax paid to them and Poland get investment in the property market, but, what about those that dont have these kind of plans? What about those that want to stay because they feel the situation in Poland will never change?

I WOULD LIKE VIEWS FROM POLISH PEOPLE ONLY

Love / I'm upset - you encourage foreigners to take the Polish women away [94]

A lot of people post rubbish on here so I wouldnt take it too seriously Moralny....you will see a lot of Polish people coming back to Poland, some will stay here in the UK but most will return...I understand you to a certain degree, but if Poland paid better salaries to people they would not leave, its down to your government to have a good think about what is needed to keep the young and talented to build a better future Poland.

p.s.

I dont offend easily...good night

Language / Basic words to say to a Polish girl? [40]

[quote=nicoletia, Post #4 ]If I was you I'd advise parents to move their child to the school, where it can be taught by polish teachers.[/quote

Why should Polish children be provided with Polish teachers whilst they are in England...our education system is stretched enough without trying to pander to every nationalities needs...

When the vietnamees came over in the late 70is they were not given any extra help and most were from small villages and didnt speak any english they soon adapted and learnt the language

Moralny, a friend of mine is Polish, she is here with her Polish boyfriend they work very long hours and are saving a lot of money to buy a property in Poland, she goes back to Poland next Sept to continue with her studies, they are here so that they can have a better life in a couple of years in Poland, they are not the only Polish people that are doing this, people will return and they will return back to Poland and invest what they have earnt in England...And not all us pissie Anglo-saxons are telling the Polish they are no good I have very positive views of a vast majority of Polish people..Im sorry you are upset with what has happened, you will meet someone, just stop crying about it and be positive.

Well maybe people should do what people in England do, we dont expect much from our pensions so we have private ones.

Maybe he should move to a larger city, more choice or take time to think that people will marry who they like at the end of day...I dont see English women posting on the site whining about Polish girls taking all the men...because that would be silly

UK, Ireland / The Northern Ireland question. [3]

I think that it runs a lot deeper Mr C, since in NI people get same as in the UK, national health service, they dont pay if they visit a Doctor and in general I would say they are if not happy to be part the UK but not really interested in losing the benefits that they get now. Also its a political mine field and what would become of the country if there was unification...who knows, but do they want to take that chance.

You say about the English killing Irish, yes this happened and no its not acceptable but the IRA killed a lot of Irish, lets not forget that. Bombing the mainland causing devastation and causing death is also not acceptable.

Many families in England have relatives or are of Irish decent so Irish and English have a good relationship in the main, I take on board your point about religion, but just because you dont believe in something it doesnt mean that it's not there and in Ireland it is a major cause of problems, it is inbred, they are brought up to hate, not all, but enough to still keep breeding the hate

I agee whole heartedly with you on the above, I still love Prauge, but tend to stay on the castle side since the food is better and less brits abroard!...I do however have a bar I love on Jilska that's still off side street enough to avade the brits...but in krakow the clubs were excellent and frendly and not fully of dicks...I really hope it stays that way, I have told male friends (who might want to go on a lads weekend) that they would hate Krakow since its not very lively....lol!!

Life / The strangest things in Poland [468]

Matyjasz

And these are the best statements I have seen on the forum since visiting....The first because I look for someone that is hard working (my father and my mother) and look for someone that is thoughtful and funny (my mother) and someone who I feel safe with (my father) and someone I could spend the rest of my life with (my parents)

The second statement because my mum always worked and my grandmother looked after us, simply because they couldnt aford not to have one out of work, we didnt do without toys, but I understand that things were a lot more difficult in Poland...

And the third because, doing things for friends just because ....is what life is about...no pay back, you do it just because they are your friends...and as David Brent said there is no I in team....

put the day of the month first then the month

but it makes sence to put the day, then the month and then the year...why put the month before the day.....

I forgot to mention also about my parent they have the driest sence of humour you will ever come across, thats what I also look for

As for Mr M's comments about films being made in Poland, why the hell not, they've used Czech republic enough times (and yes the one that was supposed to have been filmed in Slavakia - Hostal - was actually filmed in Czech Rep).....

Personally I think this topic is a bit stupid, because how can anyone say any country is "sexy" Jeez I'd hardly call England sexy!

he only believes in photography

If I try and read too quick I some times miss read and I actually thought he wrote pornography..but re-read, knowing our Mr F is a decent guy that wouldnt say a thing like that on a forum..l...

oh before I forget, there is a Ukranian church near to where I live, if you like I could pop in, parish records or maybe they might be able to track you family down...churches always have connections...if you want to email me the details or I can give you the details....I know what its like tracking family (well actually I'll re fraze that - my brother has been doing our family tree for many years and has found it hard - lots of Irish and a relative about 3 generations ago that was adopted name of Bakon..so not sure where he was from!!)
