Love / TO GO OR NOT TO GO (to visit my Polish boy-friend in Poland) [30]

no i didn't tell her to go - i said good luck - with whatever she decides. we can't tell her what to do :)

Edit: we'll tell her to go - she'll go and may get her heart broken - will be our fault
we'll tell her not to go - she won't and break her own heart - will also be our fault
no way that i'm going to tell her what to do ;)

Food / Is there McDonalds, KFC, Pizza Hut etc in Poland? Food survey. [222]

dear guest, please promise me that you won't get stuck on McDonalds, KFC and Pizza Hut. Poland has a wonderful quisine of its own, so if you only want to eat from the above three, rather stay where you are ... ;) absolutely no offense meant - just please don't be afraid to explore Polish food :)

Life / Local Poles taking advantage of foreigners living in Poland [235]

... or to show how they can press their nose in front of you - forcing you to a stand still if you don't want an ugly bump! I had such a thrill the other day when a guy tried to press between me and another car - he was really behaving like a pig - and then he gaffed the car in front of him! feel sorry for the other guy - who were just minding his own business, but for this guy, I would just say : 'Kry vir jou!!!' [Krej fyr jeou!] which pretty much just boils down to: You have to bear the consequences of what you have done.

Where did Darek's post go???????????

I agree - am from Warsaw, but have visited Stary Browar a number of times, and had much too much fun, probably together with the much too much alcohol :P

Travel / Donkey visits Poland [76]

Got through to part 4 Osiol - will do the rest later. Somehow, this image of you and the priest in the back of the car, both with slippers on, finishing the vodka supply has appeared in my head, and doesn't want to disappear again :D

UK, Ireland / TRUTH AND DELUSION ABOUT POLES IN UK [65]

Maybe there is so little to say about Poles and Poland that the same topics just keep re-appearing! :)

apologies fin - haven't read the whole thread. Since last night the trolls have been on the loose, and when i read this post - on its own - it was kinda the 'last straw' that broke my doggie back. sorry - no excuse - i know, but still only a dog. ;)

maybe your own life are of so little value to you that the only thing that makes you feel better about yourself is badmouthing and breaking down others? typical behaviour of a school bully! just a thought.

Travel / Best time to visit Zielona Gora? [11]

in the middle of a vineyard in SA, the best time would be in autumn, when the vineleaves are painted by the vineyard elves ;)

Travel / Donkey visits Poland [76]

Glad donkey had a great time - maybe i'll go visit england next year by old motorbike with side car. I'll drive - hubby's eyes are not well. He will sit in the side car with muf on his lap. We'll all have these old motorbike goggles and caps on that you see in old black-an-white films, and muf's ears will flap so much that hubby can't see at all. When we come back, I'll write a floppy-ear-motorbike-holiday thread. In the meantime enjoy yours donkey - it's fun to read.

Life / Banks in Poland - Any good recommendations [30]

I am very happy with Citibank Handlowy. Their internet banking in English works well. If I need to call their call centre, there is always an English speaker on the other end of the line.

Agree with andy
