Love / Things not to do with a Polish girl? [97]

Well, relationships at 15 are generally hard work anyway, so don't panic!

But if you look around the forum, particularly in Polish Love and Relationships you will see that many of us have trouble with our Polish boyfriends/girlfriends, etc.

I can't advise you directly on how to treat a Polish girl as I am not Polish, but what I have learnt from having a Polish boyfriend is that if you stick with it and keep working at it then it does get better and any little cultural differences or language barriers can be overcome.

Good luck :-)

Love / Pick up lines - the Polish style [110]

That's awful! A fast track way of getting a slap I reckon.

(By the way, I think there was a thread like this one already somewhere)

Love / I'm pregnant of a polish guy [90]

Hey, don't worry about the comments over why it happened, as that is irrelevant now. You are where you are and it's only how you proceed from here that matters now.

I wish you the best of luck :-)

Love / Why my Polish girlfriend's mother started to ignore me? [74]

My comments were to the author of this thread and we have discussed it at length, but not on this thread.

If you feel that you need to throw insults and b*tchy comments at someone, then fine, why not give it to me? Someone's gonna get it so it may as well be me.

Are you suggesting I don't know what I'm talking about? If you are, then you truly are a fool.

Ask the creator of this thread if I know what I'm talking about or not, you pr*ck!

Love / Why my Polish girlfriend's mother started to ignore me? [74]

I'm not insulting you, but you need to read what you have written.

Three weeks is nothing... come back in ten years and tell me how you feel then. I'm serious.

I can tell you that every day I fear that phone call.. every single day

All I am saying is if you are for real and this is the situation for your gf then I would be far more worried if she will still be here tomorrow than whether she's sick in the morning. Honestly, this is what I have worried about every day for ten years.

Love / Why my Polish girlfriend's mother started to ignore me? [74]

I know exactly what he was refering to, but to me, the way he put 'being sick in the morning etc' makes me think he doesn't really know anything about heroin addiction.

Thats what I meant. I am sceptical. It sounds like someone speaking who has only seen an addict going cold turkey on the TV or in films. Anyone who has witnessed first hand, ie been with them day and night, an addict going cold turkey will know that its not a morning thing. Watching someone go cold turkey is harrowing.

Edit.. sorry if that sounds like I'm biting your head off Wroclaw boy! I just don't quite believe this thread and it's touching a raw nerve for me.

so she will still be sick in mornings etc.

This is an odd thing to say. Being sick in the mornings is the least of her worries and why the morning? What makes you think that is when the withdrawal symptoms kick in? Its not the same as being pregnant.

Like I said, if this is for real, the sickness is the least of your worries as she'll find the most simplest of ways to cure that.

Love / I miss my best friend [22]

I think you have to consider how hard this must have been for her.. because she never wanted to split, so I can understand her saying that she can't be friends with you.

I said exactly the same to my ex. I do have to see him because we have children together, but I wish I could just get on with life without him. If it were an option to not see him again then it is what I would do.

Some people do manage to be friends, but it is my opnion that this doesn't happen often.

It's a sad situation for both of you :-(

Language / Polish Gender in foreign word borrowings [26]

I can change the language in the language bar to Polish and it says when in a Word doc that its set to Polish language but if I do this bit

you want it to have a little "thingy" press Alt & Ctr at the same time and voila: śćżź

nothing happens. I don't get any letter at all, let alone one with a little "thingy" :-(

I'm probably doing something really simple wrong!

Language / Polish Gender in foreign word borrowings [26]

For when I can be bothered to, I have a Polish characters file in Word.
I copied all the funny letters in alphabetical order, saved it, and now I can copy and paste to my heart's content.

This one! I have to search around the forum looking for the different characters :-)

Language / Polish Gender in foreign word borrowings [26]

The old book I have from the 1960s

Do you mind me asking the title of this book?

The books I have are all over the place and are only good for copying phrases from. I'm still totally clueless on the grammar side of things. In fact, I'm even more confused than when I started!

Love / Advice from the guys? English met a Polish guy. [40]

To call or not to call.... the age old question, to which there's never a right answer!

It could go either way... but I guess there's only one way to find out!

Love / Advice from the guys? English met a Polish guy. [40]

I know I'm not a man.... but don't worry about him not responding to the texts.

There's loads of reasons why some ppl don't text or respond to texts and it can be as simple as he doesn't read! Or he doesn't read/write English. You may think that sounds unlikely but trust me, this is a situation I have faced with two different men, both of whom didn't have English as their first language, and thats all it boiled down to. Or maybe he was just busy?!

If he hasn't called you in a week, then maybe its time to move on. As for the advice to call him... I'm not too sure about that one.

UK, Ireland / Gullible pretty polish girls with immigrants in Ireland [60]

Does it?? Are you sure?

It has a couple of Polish shops but I haven't heard about the greasy spoon.

I love the way you refer to MK as Satan's Layby.... we can thank Bill Bailey for that little gem!
