History / The Poms who stood by the Poles in WW2 [156]

To be conscripted you had to be a german citizen, male, healthy and of the right age.

That doesnt explain the story my friend told me about his grand father...he was conscripted in to the German army - he (my friends grand father) was Polish - Im sure his was not a isolated case.

Anyway this thread was about some Ausi saying that the Brits werent so bad after all! Not a thread about Germans (you're getting as bad as the Dutch who seem to invade every thread)

Love / Abuse in relationships (my first Polish girlfriend) [216]

And maybe Lefty also smashed two packets of her cigarettes and only then did she slap him.

how come this doesn't surprise me.

Dont you find it strange that she cracked up when her fags were broken lol...Id have gone Mike Tyson on him had he even touched my straighteners! (note my comments are a joke!)

sometimes their men do need a proper slap.

No they dont, if you are in a relationship where there is violence, then its time to say bye bye...not accept the fact that you will use violence now and a again...I find your statement quite disturbing!

Love / Love my polish girlfriend alot but under pressure from family [166]

No wonder he's your ex.

I finished it with him...As kind as he was he was a miserable fecker, plus his relationship with his mum was a bit too close...he brought her to the pictures with us once!

No you are just tight!

How rude! I can assure you he received a nice £5 book token for every birthday!

Am I not decent because I did not pay for the meal?

No you are just tight!

i would disagree, if someone invites you out they should at least buy you a drink. it's like i was cooking dinner, invited my date over and got him to pay me 50% of what i spent on the food. now THAT would be tight.

Very true on both counts L'll Mss J

I agree with your point of view but if it was me saying that they would all say I'm a gold digger.

Not at all, Im English and wouldnt expect to pay for anything on a date, in the 6 years with my ex I didnt pay for one drink or one meal..Im not a gold digger, I just believe that a man should pay if he's taking me out.

A lot men need the slogan "the world has moved on" as a fine excuse.

Very true, but its not just a Polish thing, any decent man will do this.

History / The Poms who stood by the Poles in WW2 [156]

Most of them would have done what they had to do for themselves and for their families to survive the war. They were not driven by Ideology or some false sens of patriotism for Germany but circumstances they found themselves in ..... you better don't forget that!

This is true, the first Polish guy I ever met told me a story of how his grand father was marched from his home, he either went or his parents and sisters and him were dead...he was only 16...not much of a choice really.

no one is interested in your lies as you post them in other posts, all you have just excuses.

Why didnt you just answer the question, it was quite simple.

the deal was to attack Germany from west side, and that did not happen.

Which deal? You actually amused me with the above, it reminded me of a scene out of the Office, where they take the pi$$ out of the guy in the TA.

and after start of war by not helping Poland.

How long does it take to mobilize an army? Or would you suggest that went over with pitch forks and horse and carts? Aparently the horse approach has been tried and failed (sorry couldnt resist that)

Hitler a monarchist sympathiser... who'd have thought. :-)))

Neither.

Apparently (so the story goes) the Germans expected resistance to be stronger in the north

He'd obviously heard the expression "southern softies" :D

Not all the public.

A handful of nutters with flags, hardly public opinion, had there been that much support for him in the higher and lower ranks of society, we wouldnt have gone to war.

1.) The Briton is proud, brave, tough, resistant and has an organizational talent. He knows how to take advantage of any new event. He has the adventure spirit and the courage of the Nordic Race. Quality sinks with broadening. The German average is better.

True. Apart from the last sentence :D

That said, I give credit where it is due

Gee, thanks, now I feel much better that England gets some Poles graditude for the 1,000s of Brits that died in WWII...You are funny!

(Well, one of them)

Can you name the hundreds of others in the ruling classes at the time, I doubt it. The Mitfords were just a phucked up bunch, half loved the idea of communism (what a larf for aristocrats) the other half were facists..But Im sure there were a couple of sane ones...

Bravo!

Are you being sarcastic?

I take off my cap for thoose brave people who used their voice in an righteous way when few knew better then most.

How about taking off your cap for those that thought of the women and children in England who would have starved to death had a war continued?

His favourite film was all about the heroic British Empire!

So he wasnt such a bad chap after all.

rozumiemnic

Whilst Im not a big fan of the Royal family, I could never question their allegiance to England, they turned their backs on the Russian royal family in WW1 because of public opinion and look what happened to them..so you see, they would rather have the blood of their family on their hands than go against the wishes of their Subjects and at the time of WWII, public opinion was not in favour of the facists in Germany.

UK, Ireland / Exploiting Polish Workers by the UK businesses [90]

And which Scottish Prime Minister and his Labour party invited them?

Nobody was invited, Im sick of saying this...the borders were opened...they misjudged the numbers that would arrive, since there was free moment of the French and the Spanish and the Germans and other member states...there was no "mass" migration from these countries so stupidly Britain gave the new member states the same access to the UK as all of the others.

who stated that around 11-13,000 people from Eastern Europe were expected to travel to the UK to look for work.

Exactly.

In reality you lot are only here to do the crap jobs nobody will do in the UK.

Thats complete rubbish, the Brits were doing these jobs long before the Poles arrived and will be doing them long after the Poles leave. By the way, they are not crapy jobs, they provide a living for a person who may or may not have the capability to be a phucking brain surgeon! Have a little bit of respect!

News / Poland among the greatest enemies of Russia [112]

But they do make viable power. Hydroelectric is nice, too.

They do, im not denying that, but they are unsightly and loud the countryside is already littered with pilons, why make it even more unsightly? If they were all out at sea it would be a different matter, but the costs involved in that are incredibly high (yes I know a little bit about it) and the maintence associated costs are even higher.

What I might have thought before doing the research is irrelevant.

So its all just a big con?

With proper maintenence, a very long time. The only way to extend the life of solar panels, however, is to not use them.
That means storing them in a dark, cool environment, by the way.

Doesnt that defete the object ;0)

Let's have that argument in 25 years, when we know that they'll actually last long enough to theoretically be worth the cost, shall we?

Maybe not, I'm hoping that I wont be on this forum in near future, let alone 25 years...

News / Poland among the greatest enemies of Russia [112]

And an expensive thing. You have any idea how much those things cost?

Aparently cheaper than you think, one of the UK's major window manufacturers is now installing them, its just about educating poeple and changing peoples perception of solar power.

Im not convinced about wind farms, they've had a very negative impact on the landscapes over here and also the noise they produce is also a nuisance.

As to your figures and the worlds population you were bringing people who dont even have running water in the equation let alone electricity.

Also regarding life span, how many years does a combi boiler last? How long do windows last? I'd say 25 years for very little outlay is quite good considering the savings made over those 25 years, also as technology moves on, who knows how long the ones produced in 25 years time will last, maybe 100 years? We simply dont know because its very new.

News / English vs. Polish hostility [323]

We can always change that fact Ama. It so happens that I know very well 24 really nice polish lads living in your neighborhood that would be more than eager to help you out and move in to your flat in no time. :

Hmmmmmm, nice thought but dont think b/f would go for it some how :)

And more seriously, 25 people in 3 bed house? That's just a recipe for disaster and bloodshed! :/

I saw the same prog as Foxy and it was pretty grim :(

Life / Assalamou Alaikum. 1 year old child passport problems [35]

haveing a british birth cirtificate dos not give a child right to claim natniolaty

it gives him the right to a British passport!

it gives him the rights all other British people have

wouldent be takeing the baby back to the counytry if i was a baby snacher and getting the embassy and the home office involved to get him some sort of document to get him back in to the uk

ROFL - you actualy think I believe that you are going to visit any of those places - you have committed a crime a very serious one at that, taking a child out of the country on false documents, not good, I very much doubt the Polish embassy will be happy when they find out same with the English Emabassy, not to mention the Pakistani Emabassy, but then again your country is corrupt so they probably wouldnt care less!!!!!!!

permanent rain (well in Manchester anyway!),

Sorry can you please tell me where all the recent floods were, because they were not in Manchester! (Idiot)

living off benefits and watching Trisha/Jeremy Kyle every day??

Obviously you, since you seem to know so much about these things.

saw 25 Polish people living in a 3 bed council house on TV the other day...

Saw that, bit annoying really when I pay my council tax and there is only me living in my flat - no wonder there is a strain on certain local amenities when the correct revenue isnt coming in!

£180 + the cost of photographs.

blimey, I got my in 2005 and including photos it was only £120 if that to be honest :(

A British passport would have been a better idea. Have you tried the Citizens Advice Bureau?

He's in pakistant, so it might be a bit difficult <doh> I think he took his son out of the country ilegally to be honest
