UK, Ireland / British Government keeps work restrictions for eastern Europeans [19]

And get rid of curry culture?

Yep, we could keep the Italian and the Spanish and the French and the Greek...(I like mediteranian food ;0) )

Controlled immigration is a good thing, mass immigration of ANY kind is a bad thing, illegal immigration should be stamped out and failed assylum seekers should be removed before they start to procreate and demand passports for their off-spring born here!

News / Poland..wake up to a multicultural world [1059]

I don't think that's possible Shell. If Poland had been involved in the slave trade their would be an abundance of roles available.

I was talking about recent progs - Merlin - I hadnt realised that Gwinevere was black or that Friar Tuck in Robin Hood's merry men was black, this is what I'm talking about! Black people playing roles of white people! Maybe we should re-cast Roots and make Kunta Kinte white?

UK, Ireland / British Government keeps work restrictions for eastern Europeans [19]

Strict working restrictions for Eastern Europeans will not be scrapped, the Government announced today.

The Worker Registration Scheme enables the Government to monitor the work A8 nationals do, and where in the country they do it - and so better plan for local services and ensure migration is working for the British labour market and the country as a whole.

Maintaining the restrictions also means A8 nationals will not have full access to benefits until they have been working and paying tax for at least 12 consecutive months.

UK, Ireland / Looking for a Polish psychologist in England. [11]

His GP will STILL have to refer him or he will have to go private, if he is in Manchester then the chances of his GP getting him a referral to a specialist in Notts is slim, to say the least as it's a completely different Health Authority. Im not tyring to be negative, it's just the reality of it.

Law / Non-EU citizen with Polish work permit - work in other EU Countries? [4]

If your wife is Polish and she is going to go to the UK with you then yes you can work in the UK, if not then NO you can not.

Not that I'd advise it at present unless you have a "firm" job offer, which I doubt you'll get outside of the UK since regulations in place state jobs must be advertised first in the UK and since we have rising unemployment there is pretty much zero chance unless you have some "special" skill that nobody in the UK can do.

News / Poland. Sold for nothing. [341]

Like blokade the harbors? Destroy the German navy? Blockade the merchant fleet? Nah you're right they couldnt do any of those:)

Sok, people in England lived on rationing until 1955 - so if we couldn't feed the population on the island properly, how the **** were we going to raise an army to defete the Ruskis?

The British could have done much to prevent the SU from taking over Poland. Let's start with David Lloyd George, the English prime minister, who decided to lift the Royal Navy’s blockade of Russia just as the Civil War seemed to be turning against the Reds. This act enabled the looting Soviets an outlet to sell their booty on the black market.

I see you dont speak Polish and you live in the US, so what the hell does it have to do with you? Do you know exactly what it was like in the UK after WWII? Do you know how many lives of civilians were lost? Do you know how much of my country was destroyed? Do you know anything apart froim "oh the Brits sold Poland down the river blah blah blah blah"

CHANGE THE RECORD!

UK, Ireland / Looking for a Polish psychologist in England. [11]

manchester

Depending on where in Manchester you are, you could be waiting for up to 18 months, possibly more - it's not what the NHS consider a priority, as for finding someone to see who is Polish, his chances are pretty low...

Polish-speaking Social Workers

They are NOT going to be able to refer him, he needs to see his GP first and they will refer him, there are waiting lists and his chances of seeing someone this side of xmas is slim.

Maybe he should try some meditation classes or yoga.

News / Poland..wake up to a multicultural world [1059]

It depends on your definition of a Jew, but I can safely say that Mr and Mrs Sarkozy do not belong to the same race.

Can you explain? Are you saying that Hungarians and Greeks are not the same race? Or are you putting more emphasis on the fact his mother was some how part Jew?

that why she is married to a Jew and shagged all the Rolling Stones?

Jews are not a race, or at least last time I checked they weren't ;0) Regarding Sarkozy's nationality, it's rather complicated, but here you go.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicolas_Sarkozy#Personal_life

but he's was never brought up in a Jewish household by a Jewish mother, therefore NOT a Jew.

UK, Ireland / UK citizen marries non-EU citizen - any residency rights in Poland [4]

tonykenny

If Poles can marry non-eu nationals and live in the UK then I would imagine the same applies for a UK national living in Poland and marrying a non-eu national.

I hope that makes sense :)

by the way it takes 3 years to qualify for nutralisation, the rules are changing all the time :)

Food / MARMITE IN POLAND? [96]

Try a gag come April 1st?

I did that to a friend once only it wasn't April fools :) she used to have this annoying habit of nibbling her bloody toasties until it was a really small square which she savoured for the end last mouthful :) SHE HATED MARMITE! So I made her the nicest toasty on this earth and put a blob in the centre...and watched her nibble away...I have to say I am writing this with a smile on my face because I can still see the disgust on her face as she placed that last mouthful into her mouth and chewed it for a matter of seconds!

News / Poland..wake up to a multicultural world [1059]

They can't have as many kids in China, the government has quotas. If they had other places to live, they could have more kids. So there ya go. Reason to imperialize.

They are not known for having large families in the UK, they have been here for over 200 years, the majority are fully integrated. The kids do not roam the streets in gangs unlike other immigrants that are in the UK, again I will say, I dont have a problem with the Chinese.

As for eating cats and dogs, they use the meat to eat and export the furs - it doesn't mean that they're doing it in the UK.
