Real Estate / Poland property boom over???? [54]

In my opinion it is over, and it is really good.

Why do I think so, there is much more new houses builed and when and numbers of permitions show that there will be more properties builded in nearest future.

Inflation increas and rates will increase so it will be harder to get loan.

Prices are extreamly high esp when we look on earnings. (properties are some times more expenisve than in Germany)

Last time we had typical eufory characteristic for last period of trend.

History / Poland: we have an interesting history. [72]

liberum veto in bad meaning of this word occured in second part of XVII century. That is why we call XVI century Golden ;)

"It is commonly, and erroneously, believed that a Sejm was first disrupted by means of liberum veto by a Trakai deputy, Władysław Siciński, in 1652. In reality, however, he only vetoed the continuation of the Sejm's deliberations beyond the statutory time limit. It was only in 1669, in Kraków, that a Sejm was prematurely disrupted on the strength of the liberum veto, by the Kiev deputy, Adam Olizar."

"In the first half of the 18th century, it became increasingly common for Sejm sessions to be broken up by liberum veto, as the Commonwealth's neighbors — chiefly Russia and Prussia — found this a useful tool to frustrate attempts at reforming and strengthening the Commonwealth"

After 1764 the liberum veto practically went out of use: the principle of unanimity did not bind "confederated sejms," and so deputies formed a "confederation" (Polish: konfederacja) at the beginning of a session in order to prevent its disruption by liberum veto.

The liberum veto was abolished by the May 3rd, 1791, Constitution (adopted by a confederated sejm), which permanently established the principle of majority rule."

but it was to late ...

I understand your message (answer to so many posts in this and other topics sugesting sth for us), we understand that we are not super power. Majority of Poles understand it and what is important or PM Tusk understands it. EU is club of lost super powers/empires, that is why it has been established.

Maybe we need to say sth about how we behaved when we had "super power". What kind of system we had. It is very important we had created our commonwealth using positive power.

I think the most popular source on this forum Wikipedia ;)

sss

Green are orthodox (other names are simlar to english)

we have to say sth about arians (do not connect to WWII) Polish pacifists (?!?) in XVI century ;)

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polish_brethren

"The movement started around 1562 and ended with the expulsion of Arians from Poland in 1658. The Brethren never participated in the Sandomierz Agreement between different Polish Protestants. The Polish Brethren advocated the separation of church and state and taught the equality and brotherhood of all people; they opposed social privileges based on religious affiliation, and their adherents refused military service (they were known for carrying wooden swords instead of real almost obligatory szablas) and declined political office. They did not believe in private property, were against capital punishment, and did not believe in the traditional Christian doctrines of Hell or the Trinity."

And here is the answer how we ended with 95% of Catholics at the end ;)

" The Deluge in which protestant Sweden invaded Poland, since they (as almost all non-Catholics) were commonly seen as Swedish collaborators. This expulsion is sometimes taken as the beginning of decline of famous Polish religious freedom, although the decline started earlier and ended later: the last non-Catholic deputy was removed from parliament in the beginning of the 18th century. Most of Polish Brethren moved to the Netherlands, where they greatly influenced European opinion, becoming precursors to Enlightenment. Through their connection to Enlightenment thinkers, their ideas also influenced the Founding Fathers of the United States."

I've just noticed some analogies to other religious groups in our history ... hmmmm... maybe we should think about it.

History / Poland: we have an interesting history. [72]

The Russians were the ones who fought toucher than everyone.

yes, when we look on number of their soldiers they did sth but 400 is 400 and they were form Smolensk which was part of Lithuenia ... troops form Russian country were in Russia...

The Lithuanians run away when the Teutons attacked but came back after personal interference of polish king.

some came back but some retreated to Lithuenia (?!?) and in their way home were tellin stories about great defeat.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Grunwald

Russia and the Soviet Union

Due to the participation of the Smolensk regiment in the battle, Russians consider the battle to be a Polish-Lithuanian-Russian coalition against invading Germans, ignoring the fact that Smolensk at that time was a part of Grand Duchy of Lithuania. The banner from Starodub took part in the battle. This town is now part of the Bryansk region in Russia.

Germans had never forgotten about this defeat, and they claim that in 1914 they had taken revange on "slavs"

In Germany the battle was known as the Battle of Tannenberg. In 1914 yet another Battle of Tannenberg took place between Germany and Russia, ending with a Russian defeat. In German propaganda during the WWI / WWII period the 1914 battle was put forth as a revenge for the Polish - Lithuanian victory 504 years earlier, and the battle itself was purposefully named to suit this agenda.

History / Poland: we have an interesting history. [72]

So in 1410 Russians,Poles,Czechs and Lithuanians

Russians ? no way ! only about 400 Russians particpated in this battle, Lithuenians retreated at the begining, there were some Czech soldiers of fortune (on both sides), but generaly this battle was between Poles and Germans

Basically they started in 15th centrury when the Russians tried to become independant and keep the orthodox tradition while Poles were inspired by Popes to crusades to the East.

Russians tshar came to Krakow and asked our King for help, he wasnt interested so Tshar converted into catholic and was looking for support, finaly he found it (some nobels form north east of RP) and Poles helped him to take moscov and throne , later it changed in war between Russians na Poles. and we had taken Moscov again. there is better description there (Russians participate in it)

Generaly most of Russians wanted to have the same laws as Poles and it was very close Russia would be another Lithuenia in our Common Wealth (BTW independent Lithuenians celebrate togheter with us 3rd may constitution so we were ok )

https://polishforums.com/archives/2005-2009/history/poland-russia-ending-story-11550/20/

some Polish historicians claim that union with Lithueanians was mistake because mainly they provoked conflicts with Russia instead of that we could "finish" Germans they were on knees ... and continue our "come back" on west.

Generaly reason of our strenghtness in XVI ventury (we had the bigest military power in Europe) came from our model, Ukrainians Lithuenians wanted to join us because our citizens had more laws so Russians wated the same "if Polish lords give us more laws than our ... so we should support them" ... it can be compared to what USA have been doing in last century (to times of Iraq)

History / Jewish love towards Poles [389]

Jewish love towards Poles

this love is noticable when we see Jewish tourists in Poland, calling our citizens Pigs behaving like animals. (especialy those with hairlocks)

exampel of behaviour or dewastated hotels by Jews (who even dont remember WWII)

last time some hotles owners reject to rent rooms for Jews bacause later they have to paint walls to get rid of racist slogans.

they are even worst than drunk English teens.

Jews dont catch up with Tatars. Tatars the best example of loyal citizens.

I have noticed a great deal of sympathy of Jews when they write in this forum about polish people

it was irony

History / Jewish love towards Poles [389]

Jews are peaceful and in general no threat to anyone, so I have no idea why people on this forum are attacking them and making statements like you have.

ask Palestinias holded in ghettos whose land have been stolen by Jews. what do they think? Generaly all countries where Jews have been or are in big numbers have negative atitude towards them. Maybe because they are friendy towards host nation to the moment it is good business if not most of them change side. I m conscious there were some small exceptions

Russians lost in Afghanistan 15 031 - 30 000 solders. Afghans were supported by CIA and many Poles helped them and to be more precise provoked this conflict between SU and Afghans. Now we are fighting against them (organistaions CIA has created).

Form Polish point of view it is good business. USSR colapsed ealier.

History / Poland: we have an interesting history. [72]

Jaunary up-rising and October uprisng occured partly because Russians wanted to use Poles in their wars. Poles prefered to die in war against Russians than strenghten them. I think it should be noticed as well.

History / Should Germany claim to be the victims in Poland? [510]

I have just made reflection ... yes the discussion with this nazi scum goes for nowhere ... and I used racist slogans to hurt this nazi scum ... but I started to fight in mud with him and his pathetic world ... ehhhhh

but the fact is that Germans started to talk about history like BB and it isnt good sign ... I m not talking about war or sth but there will be some tensions ... (history becomed problem for Germans it is noticable)

as to this Gold ... it wasnt mainstream story but the fact is that somewhere in Lower silesia there is this gold ... I m not going to talk about details because it is long story ;) BTW very interesting ...

as to Russians it is much different story ... than Germans ... all in all Russians stoped Germans (even they cooperated before) and even they killed so many Polish people ... Nazi germans were the worst ... (and onence more a litle bit of mud ... ;) ) Germans can be nationalists but they cant talk about their clear race anymore ... maybe Russian solutions seam to be crazy but they have done sth

News / The new Polish government is going to do... reprivatisation [25]

it was one of the worst Polands projects after '89 ... generaly people were cheated ... and populists always point it as a symbol of bad capitalism ... (generaly it is long story)

last time there was "ustawa uwłaszczeniowa" new law ... lets say "poor" part of our society have been given sth more that this pathetic project in '90s

what is the difference between this two projects, all people got particpated in project you mentioned, without difference if they had sth before commie come or not ... but the fact is that commies confiscated a lot of properties form Polish people just because the had aristocracy origin or were members of Home Army who fighted against German nazists (they were potential thread "if they fighted agianst germans they potentialy can start fighting against us" (way of thinking) ) (in case of Home Army there have already been some money given) what is more some rich peasants were confiscated as well ("rozkulaczanie") peope who had factories or other kind of business lost it ... people expeled from east have lost their properties as well ...

OK so main difference is that first project was for all people without looking if they were rich or poor on the begining of commie time ... this one is for this people who have had sth and were confiscated ... so their input in our national companies or growt was much higer ... this 10 000 jews were our citizens so if they had sth worthful and were confiscated will be treated in the same way as native Poles (but it have to be exactly their property not one of milions of Jews (big Jewish family ;) ) ...

we discusse about money because nobody is going to change owners of properties... and per cent of value of its worth because nobody is going to pay 100%

This is not official info, we dont have dates but it seams that sth will happen especialy after "ustawa uwłaszczeniowa"

News / The new Polish government is going to do... reprivatisation [25]

I have heard that our new gov is going to do reprivatisation ...

what means Polish people expelled form East in 45 will get some money for their properties there ... (Ukrainians are not going to pay single penny so only relationship would be harmed)

this 10 000 Jews will get some money

Polish people who have lost their properties because commie regime (enforced by Russia) decided that they are enemy of system or whatever ... are going to get some money ... (my family was confiscated three times because they were potential thread ... )

money will come from privatization of national companies ...

(of course we are not discussing about Germans )

What I want to add, and what is important it is because our economy is stronger and we are able to do it for our citizens ... when unemployment in Poland was about 20% it was really hard to manage some money to pay for our citizens who suffered because of commie regime decisions ...

What is important it is time to close this issue ...

History / Should Germany claim to be the victims in Poland? [510]

OK maybe instead of arguing with BB ...

I will present the other issue connected with Silesia ...

when they got rid of all Poles living there Lower Silesia changed into SS/Nazi bastion ...

it was the center of SS/Nazi F***** ... (BTW BB is one of those TRUE GERMANS ;) who call this land their homeland )

Germans decided to hide Gold robed in Poland from Poles and Jews etc ...

The part of it is hiden somewhere in Lower Silesia ... famous Golden Train of 3rd Reich ... full of gold ,diamonds etc ...

It is really hard to find it, because Germans have hiden it one of old mines or their bunkers ... there are thousends of kilometers of it ... when Germans were moving back they destroyed a lot of mines bunkers (some times 20 condigantions under the level of Ground) for example in some places they changed the ways of undergorund rivers that they partly go throught the bunkers or mines. Sometimes to search in some places you have to destroy or evacuate part of town or vilage bacause they are above mine/underground bunkers ... What is sure somewhere in Lower Silesia there is this treasure ... Poles Germans and Jews know about it ... When in '80 commie gov started to do researches our Army inteligency noticed rapidly increase of German inteligency activity in this region ... there is much more details but shortly ... Germans have maps and we have the land ...

and Old Nazi F***** are older and older ... and they have to give their secret for someone ... (some of them are so old but still in good condition ... maybe because of robed diamods in their pockets they have the best health care ... )

I think that some of them realized that they are not going to take Lower Silesia in nearst time and they are really flustarted ...

and we wait ... because more and more former Nazist Germans who could keep secred die :) maybe their kids or someone ealse who will just take small percent of value of this treasure instead of having nothing ...

as to the subject ... I m 100% sure that most of Germans (and Poles) think that this case is about nazi Germans who had to leave our land . From the other hand it is noticable that some Germans with "glourios" (sic!) past instead of being calmer and so on ... are more and more F***** UP ;)

maybe this story looks a little bit fantastic ... but why a hell German inteligency when sb tries to find this treasure starts to observe whole action ... beacuse this train exists, like other founded in Hungary or in other parts of Europe ... but this one is much better hiden.

cheers

I like Kapuscinski books he has so many international awards that I m sure you will find his books in English (the fact that you are on PF shows that you like to read about other cultures / countries) so If you want to know how big part or most of Poles see Africa, Russia, Latin America etc (I think you will be positively surprised) you must read his books ;-)

History / Chicago Public Radio on *Polish* concentration camps [62]

Jews agreed that concentration camps (WWII) should be called German not only Nazist and definitely not Polish

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polish_death_camp

The terms are potentially confusing as to who operated the camps and suggests that it was the Poles who took part in the Nazi German genocide. Therefore, they have been monitored and discouraged by the Polish ministry of foreign affairs and Polonia organizations and by all Polish governments since 1989. The American Jewish Committee also has condemned the usage, stating that "that Auschwitz-Birkenau and the other death camps, including Belzec, Chelmno, Majdanek, Sobibor and Treblinka, were conceived, built and operated by Nazi Germany

Life / What is the attitude of Poles in Poland to émigré Poles? [15]

opinions of Poles who have emigrated to west are taken really serious ... two of our current ministers have backed form emigration (forign and finance) a lot of people have familiy in one of western countries ... there is no negative stereotypes ... (I havent heard any) there were some controversions about political choices made by USA emigration (in elections they voted much different than people in country) but you cant find any negative opinions about Polish emigratns form East/West (in Poland )

and Ebi Smolarek whave been born in Holand and is very popular now ;)

maybe Poles who live in East are rather considered as victims of our history (deportation, uprises etc)

There are different types of emigrats ... there are Polish societies with long history (XIX century who recognize theselves Polish) and new much different types of emigratns ...

some people have noticed that Poles are everywhere .... ;) maybe on moon as well ;-)

History / Should Germany claim to be the victims in Poland? [510]

(If they would had been really expelled the way the Poles did it...there would never have been a danger...)

because it is not so easy to expel Pole

town where I live

All in all, the policies of Germanisation of the Poznań area mostly failed. Although most of the administrative measures aimed against the Poles remained in force until 1918, between 1912 and 1914 only four Polish-owned estates were expropriated, while at the same time Polish social organizations successfully competed with German trade organizations and even started to buy land from the Germans. The long-lasting effect of the Polish-German conflict in the area was development of a sense of Greater Polish identity, distinct from the identity common in other parts of Poland and primarily associated with nationalist ideas rather than socialism, prevailing in other parts of the country in 20th century.

the other fact is that after building the center it is posible Polish organiations are going to go to courts, because Germans havent payed anything ... and some Jewish lawers (they won in simillar cases against Germans) declared help ... I dont know if it is good direction ...
