News / Made in Poland products? [66]

PS. FIAT cars are made in Poland anyway, so not only Cinquecentos, but Pandas, Seicentos and others (I suppose).

News / Made in Poland products? [66]

These are some things I saw in Scotland:
- Fiat Cinquecentos (probably made in Poland, FSM Bielsko-Biala);
- some Polish kielbasa in Asda;
- Tyskie, Zywiec beer in JD Wetherspoon and some other pubs

If i spot something else, I'll let you know.

Life / What makes you proud to be Polish? [150]

Poland could take flat tax rate as Estonia did and boost it's economy, but of course that solution has it's drawbacks also.

Yeah, but Estonia is doing great noowadays, they don't care to leave their country and look for jobs abroad unlike Poles...

It seems like you're more optimistic then Poles are... Irish have undertaken the oportunity, but whether Poland will - it's a mystery.

Life / Poland is wearing me down. :( Polish excuses... [30]

And by the way, I don't think that they're all against you just because you're a foreigner, you're just unlucky to have bad colleagues. Such situations happen in many workplaces across Poland (eg. my sister had problems with her co-workers without any clear reason, they just had it in for her).

Life / Poland is wearing me down. :( Polish excuses... [30]

Sorry to hear that. Sometimes my countryfolks deeds make me feel ashamed. But if you live abroad, you learn that other nations have their drawbacks too. No-one is perfect, mind you.

Life / What makes you proud to be Polish? [150]

Well, sometimes its hard to be Polish. We have great, interesting history, our country isn't the worst in the world, but we've never been too good in economy and ruling our country, it's a shame that Poles only truly unite in the face of danger (e.g wars, communism etc).

im wondering why polish are talking in english to each other here is taht a rule or sometjhing

Because English is the ruling language in this forum. Read the Privacy & Rules in the bottom of screen.

UK, Ireland / Polish immigrants apply to be Police officers in N Ireland [17]

hmmm... i have experienced polish police corruption firsthand on a number of occassions...

That's right, if you were paid so poorly and were treated by your supervisors no better than a litter bin, then small wonder that many rank and file policemen in Poland get corrupted. I hope that when they become employed in the UK or Ireland that will raise their professional and moral standards, and that Poland won't be (at least) ashamed by their actions.

News / 7 kg super baby born in Poland [18]

A boy weighting 7 kg and 130 g and 66 cm tall was born in Military Hospital in Szczecin. It's probably the largest baby born in Poland. National Neonathology Consultant Ewa Helwich said she's never heard of a birth of a child who weighted more than 7 kg. Babies who weight 5 kg are a rarity, and more than 6 kg - a phenomenon.

The boy and his mum are ok.

Travel / Anyone know any English pubs in Wroclaw [47]

Have you tried the English pub [John Bull] It's only 20 feet from the Irish pub. Highlander is also in Rynek.

Those are names of two pubs in Opole as well.

Life / Why do Poles drink so much? [161]

Maybe he has got great adapting skills.

You haven't seen some of my neighbours in Poland. Their organisms recognized alcohol as a 'preserving substance'. They will probably live forever, and if they happen to die, their bodies won't decompose in graves :)

Love / Matrix says that POLISH GIRLS= NOTHNIG SPECIAL [279]

Polish public services have known for 7 years that he is infected, and have done nothing. Also, there is an interesting hypothesis about his behaviour - he may have wanted to 'pass' the disease onto his partners, as African magic advises.

Life / Poland: Individualist or collectivist... more Reserved? [20]

I can speak only for myself - I'm an extreme individualist, but when it takes to work collectively, I don't mind.
But in general, I think that we have such a mess in our country because of our selfishness and lack of will to work together (unlike our ancestors, when they rebuilt our land from the rubble after the I W.W.).
