Syrena_04 2 | 88 27 Nov 2006 / #2Have you ever heard of 'Old World charm'? Polish men and women are the best example.Highly intelligent.Resilient and courageous. But I don't suppose you know what I'm talking about, do you.

ola123 29 Nov 2006 / #7Poles are known as friendly, hard working, very hospitable ppl. But there are more negatives stereotypes.
Frank 23 | 1,183 29 Nov 2006 / #8Polish Girls Are the Most Beautiful in the World...!!! not true i'm not that beautifulP_G...plz.....desist...........thats my thread........topic.....I am the arbiter of same........in IMHO...they are....:)
FISZ 24 | 2,116 29 Nov 2006 / #9I find it hard to get information in Poland. Everytime I go to a secritary for info they point me in another direction...it ends up being a big circle. Other than that...customs has a dificult time with my passport and feel the need to flip through the pages over and over and over again.
Frank 23 | 1,183 29 Nov 2006 / #10Sod ....stereo types..........everyone is different.........but we certainly can exhibit national traits...habits...ways of doing things......If Poland its people were so awful then the state/people would never have existed, become a sovereign nation...they do plenty of things well.......and a few not so well....just like USA, UK, Russia....etc.......:)
Llyvellyn - | 15 3 Jan 2007 / #11are there any neutral or positive stereotypes of poles?Fearless, stubborn, freedom-loving, maniacally romantic...etc
iwona 12 | 542 4 Jan 2007 / #12yes we are romantic and spiritual....but is it positive or negative?:)
ANIAH - | 60 4 Jan 2007 / #14Poles are open & warm, I have met so many Poles over here who have practically told me their life story on the first meeting.
iwona 12 | 542 5 Jan 2007 / #17of course there is- cherry, Zubrowka...any mixed drinks or coctails....
jagiellonia 6 Jan 2007 / #18Polish people are known for being hard workers, and they are very hospitable.
kaka 1 | 142 7 Jan 2007 / #19we are very friendly nation, and make friend very fast, and we are open, and we know how to have fun
Bartolome 2 | 1,085 7 Jan 2007 / #20Excellent soldiers (at least in the past), horses and horseriding were always in a special place in Poland.
Eurola 4 | 1,907 7 Jan 2007 / #21Non-violent or aggressive toward other nations, interested in arts and music, excellent work ethic, fun loving (singing/dancing), generally a happy nation regardless of hardship endured...
Llyvellyn - | 15 12 Jan 2007 / #22There are simply many good remarks here, but I just wonder how many of them come from non-Poles? As an absolutely non-Polish person, I think the praises from outside are more insightful!:)
Ranj 21 | 948 12 Jan 2007 / #23From my own personal experience, the Poles that I know are very smart---3 Physicians, 1 Lawyer, 1 Nurse Practitionor, 4 Nurses and 1 Aerospace Physicist (that's from 2 different families that I know).:)
Oscypek - | 107 12 Jan 2007 / #25There are simply many good remarks here, but I just wonder how many of them come from non-Poles? As an absolutely non-Polish person, I think the praises from outside are more insightful! From a Non-Pole: I'd say they're lively, talkative, very direct, resourceful and of course we can't forget the Beautiful Women...!
Matyjasz 2 | 1,544 13 Jan 2007 / #26Very true. Too back up the opinion about Polish men being excelent soldiers I will quote Napoleon Bonaparte : "For my Poles, nothing is impossible"
miranda 13 Jan 2007 / #27defiantely hospitable and friendly, interested in outside affairs, passionate. I just came back from there so my memory is refreshed:)
Suicidal 28 Apr 2009 / #28I have had a life changing experience with Polish builders "builders from hell" and l am not generallising. They pretended to be builders, stole my money and left my house and life in tatters. As a result l am clinically depressed, and almost came to the brink of committing suicide. l have just given up on life. This has affected my immediate family; my children and husband, and my brothers and sisters, who want nothing to do with me because they feel that l have caused these "buillders from hell" to rob me, take advantage of me and take away my health. So now l am bankrupt, friendless and without a family. l will never be the same again, My only strong desire is to die - no point living. These Polish "builders from hell" have turned me into a shadow of my former self. l dont trust anyone and my whole personality has changed. l used to take pride in my appearance and geenerally enjoy my life, that was before. If anyone is thinking of employer builders, please remember what l have said and get references and actually see works they have done, that is speak to the homeowner.suicidal
