News / Polish teachers on Strike. [62]

That's a bad way to do it Michał. I see 1 pound as being closer to 2zł, not 4.25zł. That's why I paid for my recent flights in pounds, it works out as half price.

So, u should see the 17,000 as 34,000 pounds. I keep saying it, 425zł in Poland goes much further that 100 pounds in the UK. I've lived in both countries long enough to know that

Life / Anti-spanking law in Poland? [76]

In Scotland, our test is, or was, reasonable chastisement. Proportionality must enter the equation too. For example, slapping a child's posterior til it's red raw for clumsily knocking a glass of, say, red wine or blackcurrant juice is an exaggerated response.

So, 6000PLN a month isn't decent conditions? I think it's ok, nothing special but ok.

Explaining sth 2 ss isn't a skill? Gaining their attention isn't a skill? Communicating sth tricky 2 elementary ss isn't a skill?

Us Scots are very resourceful, we know how to maximise what we have.

Look at Scotland's industrial history. We had strength in depth in many key areas. We still do, just to a lesser extent. Farming and tourism are 2 of our strongest industries.

The main concern is inward investment. Given what Alex Salmond has achieved in a short time, I c no reason to worry.

Love / My polish g/f can be a nightmare,is it always like this [262]

I second that. I guess I'm in the better position as I'm independent and am well used to doing things for myself. My GF knows not to get too demanding. We laid down the ground rules and we get on like a house on fire.

My ex treated me like a convenience, she was a weirdo. My way or the highway and it's the highway for ur GF I hope.

I will stick 2 my guns, Polish women tend to be more stubborn than others I've encountered but u, as a guy, should be man enough to shape their behaviour. I'm sure u r. I can thank Poland for making me tougher. In Japan, the 2 GF's I had were very submissive and that works on different levels. U certainly get ur money's worth here LOL

Oil is running out fast? Forecasters predict that it will be quite some time yet b4 it does. Such commentators may be looking at the global picture, North Sea Oil is in abundant supply. Fishing, u paint such a bad picture. The crucial point is that certain species don't die out. We have a rich variety of fish in Scotland and restricting fishing areas has gone a long way towards preserving the fish stock. Please don't make such blanket statements like the EU owns fishing, it does no such thing. It operates the Common Fisheries Policy, so what? Have u read this legislation?

Tidal power is strong, why do u talk of wrecking? The way forward is alternative forms of energy based on local/national requirements. What if nuclear fission doesn't yield the dividends that we hope for? Then what? U r misguided if u think that Scotland can offer very little. We make good use of what we have, save for the exception of hydrocarbons.

News / Pope's would-be killer wants to move to Poland [36]

U thought I was describing Poles as unforgiving, pomyliłes się. If sb killed Sean Connery, we'd hardly forgive them and allow them into our country. He'd be Public Enemy No1. Am I saying that's Scots are unforgiving or merely describing an unforgivable act?

U made reference to the precision of Catholics, check ur previous postings. Please don't draft religion into this when applying the dictates of decency serves the purpose just fine. Protestants would equally condemn such an action.

News / Pope's would-be killer wants to move to Poland [36]

Wow, I've never met anyone who has missed the point quite as much as u Puzzy. I was making the point that the Pope forgave as it was a moral expectation of the people of him.

I was trying to say that trying to kill the Pope would be perceived as an unforgivable act and most Poles couldn't accept this. Tension would be heightened even more, now that he is dead.

I'm not interested in ur Catholic musings btw

And u think Professors are any better? They spout out the most useless crap sometimes. They are indulgent wankers. It's not an unskilled job being a teacher.

Columbus was Polish, wow, so what?

Most of the best inventors were Scottish.

Thanks for the explanation. Maybe they are not good because they lack motivation and not talent?

USA, Canada / Gas prices in America [127]

Yeah, but the difference is that more cars in the US are gas chompers and people travel longer distances. We have it better in this sense

UK, Ireland / What's the quickest way to send a parcel to Poland from the UK?? [19]

I am from the UK but I live in Poland. Despite Doda's attempts to popularise the drink, it hasn't found its way into any outlets here. Fookers!! U can't get it in Tesco here although they have started to put out cheddar, nice

EU members CAN get their passports stamped, if u want to prove that u have been in a country for 'x' number of time. I had to do this last year.
