Study / Comparing Educational Standards in Poland vs other countries [88]

Reading a F***ing book, wow

Ahh arts envy.

One of those Engineers do it with a calculator types no doubt. :) Another form of HE is not necessarily evil just because you don't understand it and have no immunity to it. The most deadly germs known to man were always to be found on the Engineering corridor of my local college. It was like another planet. :)

Remember Phobos:

What I mean is: you will inevitably sound like a neighbour talking about a problem family in their hearing. If they hear you they may institute a program of seeded destruction. Very big comet trails, weird DNA drippings. Even now a Phobian (Benton Revenge) could be arising from that planet to challenge the known order.

Don't say I didn't warn you.

Or of course you could be the problem family. In which case I was never here

UK, Ireland / Come work and play in Chester [12]

Mate, i spent my 4 years of my life living in Chester.
The rent's pretty expensive there mate and if I were you, I wouldn't get a flat in or around the Hoole area. Unless of course it's the new flats in Thomas Brassey Close. They're expensive, but to give them their due, the flats there are not bad at all.

Good luck.

UK, Ireland / English, Irish, Scots: They're All One, Genes Suggest [69]

Nice, but the new evidence contradicts the existing dogma.

Well come on then, you're the one who thinks he is right, so you prove it to us non believers. Don't give us links, you explain it to us. In words of less that 2 syllables. I know you can do it if you try. :)

Ok forget it. The subject is obviously a bit beyond your comprehension.

He's making it up as he goes along. :) Come on, don't give up. Those that can, do. Those that can't teach.

Teach us master. Teach us. :)

We promise not to laugh and we won't interupt. :)

How on earth would a Chinese person get to Poland 1000 years ago? Get on a train?

The Khan's managed it quite well. Nice family. Lovely neighbours. Ok, only 800 years ago though. :)

edit: you beat me to it Daffy. This thread is moving like a bullet train. :)

Mum why is that pig wearing a tiger skin rug?
Shh: Now Timothy, that's not a pig, listen. <shh> See, there, it roars like a Tiger. Genetics and language, interconnected, you'll learn timothy, you'll learn. :)

You are saying that your parentage has no connection to the language you speak?

Tigers can be cared for by monkeys, but that doesn't make the Tiger a monkey. Genetically, it's still a tiger. Even if it speaks monkey when it's ahome. :) Try harder.

You also don't understand genetics and its relation to lanuage.

Come on then Quincy. Edumucate us. What does genetics have to do with language?

Why am I expecting a punch line to follow that? :)

which would explian why it was posted in the off-topic lounge

Far too logical Bubba. There has to be something else there. <remembering to observe your Shatnerian pauses> Get bletchley on the blower, we'll have them take a schnuffty.

God only knows what the Americans will make of that. :)

Work / For all English teachers in Poland (who work for only $1000 a month) [102]

Who the hell changed the name of my topic??

Shh, if you stop now, they might not notice you. It was the, <looks around nervously> Admin team *shudder*

Listen, don't let them know you know, or you know they'll do nasty things, like take you to the <swallows loudly> trash can.

But you don't know me and i've not told you this. :)

Food / UKTV Food, new series! [13]

Ahh, cheers Annia. We must stop meeting like this, people will talk! :) She was about the only reason I ever watched an otherwise average show. It would be rather amsuing watching her trying to pronounce some names of polish food, she seemed to struggle with Gino D'Acampo. :) (Though, thinking about it, I don't think she'd have put up much resistance.) :)

Food / UKTV Food, new series! [13]

Hmm, i'll try this again, seeing as it got deleted the first time around.

Hi Tele. Hope you're ok. For the mods, you have to put this in, otherwise, they get grumpy, so bear with me, gentle reader. As I do't live back home in the uk anymore, I have a question, which, whilst not necessarily, directly on topic, is to do with the actual theme of the thread, and as such is not causing any direct hi-jacking. However, if you please, I can wave a hand grenade around and demand we fly to Rio whilst asking my question. :)

Phew, still with me T? Hope so, we're almost there. Ahh the point: :)
Is the large woman, with her mesmorising chest, still presenting UKTV Food?

Love / Illegal Polish girl wants me to marry her for citizenship [124]

solace in thinking she was a bi*ch... and i was entirely innocent...

:)

Then perhaps, if I may be so bold, I might recommend the teachings of the little known 50 cent. A rapper for all occasions. :)

Love / Illegal Polish girl wants me to marry her for citizenship [124]

Howzit mate.

Yeah. That's pretty brutal alright. I don't think we can generalise here and say all polish girls this... but the same thing happened to me, i've already mentioned it here, but might as well tell you too, my ex told me, as we were going through the whole splitting up thing: "You love me? Well, that's your problem isn't it."

Dunno if it helps or not, but you're not on your own mate. :)
