UK, Ireland / Recruitment agencies advertise for Polish only workers [162]

Mass immigration cannot survive during a recession

Yes,it will slow down and start again in boom time.

How do you expect Polish mass with no jobs to return to Poland if you compare the welfare system between the two countries.

The issue of native labeled as not hard working is a myth,it happens everywhere, even in Poland you get jobs are not done by the native but by other nations(specifically no EU).

Eventually the EU market became more homogenised when it come to EU members, not so much for no-EU employees.

As an employee I'd love a pay rise, but as an employer doesn't work in my favour,so it's down to the government to regulate the workforce market.

The responsibility lies with the governments to raise minimum wages or offer jobs to EU members rather than recruiting from beyond EU,the reason I'm saying EU not Brits, since EU members can work anywhere in EU,therefore you can't deny them jobs.

Travel / One thing i Really hate about most Restaurants in Poland! [14]

I had an experience, funny enough it's coke this time :-) on the menu it says can of coke and the guy served me a glass(very small shot) from 2 litres bottle hardly any sparkling.

I don't mind how they charge it's a free market as long you get what is advertised on the menu.

Life / On Street Parking Fees Baffle Me [11]

here in Szczecin, I noticed today that in Podstrefa B
1 hour 2zl
2 hours 4.40zl
3 hours 7.20zl

& I wonder why the other side of the street is Podstrefa A (highest rate)
1 hour 2.80zl
2 hours 6.00zl
3 hours 9.00zl

go figure the logic behind that. :S

It could be the other side of the street belongs to different borough(if it exist in Poland)

Yes I did check the terms, apart from restriction to build one story +loft which i can live with it since it will be holiday home.

the house must be 30meters away from the waterfront,i preferred little closer

Make sure that the price quoted on your notarial deed reflects the 'true' value of the land. I have heard of occassions (and I'm talking property here - flats or houses) where the price quoted was half of the actual price of the property. The other half was paid over in cash to the seller without it being recorded in the paperwork. This was done in order to avoid the tax due on the transation.

What is the downturn except paying more in Capital Gain (UK) if I decide to sell.

As for it being expensive over here, if you compare wages in UK and Poland and then compare the prices of food, living etc. in both of those countries i think you can safely say that the Brits are still better off.

you're right, I know it's not Big Mac Index but once i paid over £3 for a moccha in Torun which i believe is very expensive, life can be expensive in Poland as well.

I think people overall in UK are better off,I don't blame anybody from EEC lost their job to stay put in UK,benefits are more generous

You are the only one mentioning racism , noone else.

Obviously you haven't read my first post.
