Life / Condoms and the Catholic church in Poland [83]

Should priests provide free condoms to Africans

why not? and not just for Africans. In my opinion, all religious denominations in all countries need to move with the times and wake up to the fact that if worn correctly, condoms do protect against HIV in most cases and actively promote the use of them. One of the biggest obstacles towards promotion of safe sex in Africa is fundamentalist religous leaders. In South Africa, all Methodist Ministers, including Bishops were encouraged to take HIV tests and declare their status in an attempt to encourage more people to go for testing. Catholic churches mostly promote abstinence, but they know that the reality is different for many people.. so yes, I think that all Ministers should promote condom use.

Travel / My opinion on Gdansk and Poland after 11 days [45]

ow - so the Rio is still open

it sure is. still going strong.. had a revamp a few years back with Lottery money. Not many independent cinemas left now, so surely thats a good enough reason to visit Dalston? And yes its true that Eastenders was modelled on Dalston.. you can also find a Walford Rd. at the back of Ridley Rd. market and they modelled the EE market on that one. Anyway I do agree that its a bit dodgy at night, which is one of the reasons that I moved. Mind you maybe it seems posh to me since Im from the Midlands :).

UK, Ireland / WHAT AREAS IN LONDON ARE POPULAR FOR POLISH PEOPLE TO LIVE IN? [33]

Polish communities are springing up all over London these days. Hammersmith is another very popular one. Also in North London there are Stoke Newington, Wood Green, Holloway Road etc... pretty much any of the areas that arent too expensive to live. Also besides Polish shops which are in certain areas, most supermarkets are now stocking Polish food ranges. If you need any other advice on London I'd be happy to help.

Travel / My opinion on Gdansk and Poland after 11 days [45]

well I used to live in Dalston and I liked it.. Nothing wrong with the market, although I must admit I wouldnt buy meat there, but great for veg. You would be wrong to think that everyone is poor who lives there, its an area that attracts immigrants, mostly African, but also other nationalities, such as Polish...perhaps that is why you think that it is so poverty stricken and dangerous?

Life / I want polish passport [86]

I heard that you can tell what your wife or girlfriends breasts will look like in 20-40 years by looking at her mothers.. I think you need to see them naked though, but best to ask permisson first.

Travel / My opinion on Gdansk and Poland after 11 days [45]

this is also the first time I've ever spent any signifigant time in a decent sized city.

I'm intrigued to know where you have been living..and is 11 days a significant amount of time???

come and visit Dalston (London). I have never, ever seen such abject poverty, dirt, and hopelessness, so much grime and ugliness packed into one place. And you bet it's dangerous

This made me laugh.. dont be dissing Dalston, .. there is a great market, lovely old independent cinema and some great Turkish restaurants. OK, there are some oddballs around, but there are worse places in London.. so if you dont like it, move somewhere else.. Brixton or Peckham maybe??

News / Black Immigrant living in Poland infects dozens of women with HIV [174]

Did Simon infect those women because he was black or because he was reckless, just as reckless as the women who slept with him....and what kind of sex education do they teach in Poland that women still end up having unprotected sex with a stranger

I think this is a valid point. Ive just read through this thread and maybe I missed it, but nowhere could I find any evidence that Simon has actually been diagnosed as HIV+. Surely if he was suspected of such a crime he would have been made to take a HIV test. So is this confirmed or mere speculation?...and since this post is old, Im interested to know what has happened to him since. As for anyone who has expressed a racist viewpoint (in my opinion), you are entitled to your views, but I truly feel sorry for you for being so narrow minded..The issue here should be about promotion of safe sex and not about racism.

Love / Dating age difference - my 16 yo is dating a 26 yo Polish guy [102]

....and in a lot of Latin American countries girls start having babies as young as 12 or 13. In Nicaragua I met a 36 yr old woman with 18 kids! So it might be normal there, but I wouldnt say its a good thing.

UK, Ireland / The British royal family are looking to recruit Poles to work for them [14]

20k is a lot more than a lot of people earn, it's fairly decent pay.

Possibly outside London, but it wouldnt go far here, after tax etc. OK you would get free board and lodging so I guess it wouldnt be so bad. Maybe some people would like this job, thats what Im interested to know. Personally I think the royal family are a drain on the taxpayer and only useful as a tourist attraction, but thats only my opinion.

UK, Ireland / The British royal family are looking to recruit Poles to work for them [14]

I saw this in the paper yesterday. Apparantly there are a shortage of people wanting to become butlers, valets etc.. and they are now actively seeking Polish and other Eastern Europeans to work for them. Just interested to know if any Polish people would want this job? You do get to live in the Palace (well probably the stables), but the pay is crap (about £20k pa after training), the hours long and you would basically be a servant to the royal family.

Love / Do Polish men like to flirt? [42]

It's ok for a woman to see a younger man becuase it's a great complement to the woman. It also gives her power over the male.

It's digraceful if a older man sees a younger girl becuase the older woman is jealous.

what kind of BS is this? I thought dinosaurs were extinct until i read this.

no one wants to be loved just for their physical self.

Why not? Surely there are worse things ;)

Life / Why don't Polish service workers smile? [36]

Ive found that Polish girls working in cafes and bars in the UK smile a lot.. in my local cafe which is run by Turks, they only employ Polish girls (one at a time as there is a high turnover).. the latest wears the tightest white trousers you have ever seen, she has a big dupa and you can see her g-string through the trousers, besides that she always has her tits hanging out too... I reckon it must be in order to get more tips.. most of the male customers seem more intersted in checking her out than ordering any food though.

Food / Beer and syrup - tastes better! [48]

I like beer with that raspberry syrup.. its the Polish equivalent of lager and black. Zubrowka is also nice with cranberry juice.. may not be traditional, but check it out.

Other 'exotic' concoctions I like are Kalimocho (red wine and coke) and Lager and fanta orange or lemon.

has anyone tried that new red guinness yet? not sure if its come out yet or not.

Love / I really like this Polish guy....what to do next?? [76]

why dont you go in before lunch time and ask him what time he has his lunch and if he fancies having it with you? another option is to put your name and number on a piece of paper and a note saying call me and slip it him next time you are doing a transaction with him.. quite bold, but I would probably prefer this option to the former as you dont have to say anything and if he does choose not to, then you need never mention it again. He might be interested but not sure if you are attached. Failing that, get yourself a job at the supermarket :)

Love / What do men want with Polish Girls huh??? [72]

well said Torny, but maybe thats cos its a Polish forum :) Is there a forum to worship English women?? doubt it somehow. Its all a question of taste isnt it.. not that I'm biased but I think we are generally more intelligent and beautiful than our foreign counterparts.

Love / What do men want with Polish Girls huh??? [72]

American and British females have a lackluster reputation; and realistically it's well deserved for many of them. Dressing and acting like Britney Spears (i.e. "sluttish"--forgive the terminology) is problematic. Especially when seemingly every female between the ages of 15 and 35 cops an attitude and ACTS like they're some kind of Pop star

Do you live in a trailer park Gary? Dont want to offend anyone here, but imo a lot of Eastern European women in the UK dress way more sluttily than any English girl I know.. too much make-up, too tight jeans or too short skirt and tacky jewellery. Not saying all and Im not saying that there arent British women like that too, but I can generally tell where people are from by the clothes they are wearing. Dont know anyone who acts like a pop star though, so am intrigued to know what planet Gary is living on.

Food / Mushroom Picking Parties (Poland tradition) [74]

I used to pick MM in the UK... many years ago, I found they are abundant on the edges of golf courses at certain times of year just after rainfall. I used to look for ones shaped like nipples and they must be dark underneath, not light. No expert on this though and if in doubt, dont do it as the consequences could be fatal. Other than that have no mushroom picking experience, but would love to know how to pick wild mushrooms for cooking.

Love / Do Polish men like to flirt? [42]

I can't help thinking what the same posters would post if this were a man saying the girl was 20 years younger. :)

I'd say the same, so long as it was legal.

Love / WHY DO POLISH WIVES WHO ARE AWAY NOT VISIT THEIR HUSBANDS? [75]

does this apply even if there are no kids? if he was the guilty party, would she get the house or would it be split between them? My partner says he doesnt want to get divorced cos it will cost him a lot, esp. if he initiates it, now I can see why.

Love / Do Polish men like to flirt? [42]

He is 20 years younger

wooh hoo.. you go girl.. it might not last but sounds like a lot of fun. I think you call the shots on this one, as the 'older' woman you are gonna have to initiate things, otherwise he might be too scared. I say go for it and see what happens.

Love / WHY DO POLISH WIVES WHO ARE AWAY NOT VISIT THEIR HUSBANDS? [75]

Now if they got divorced, Polish law states that he might have to give her even half of his pay for about 3 years. And It would be for much longer if he was declared guilty of the divorce.

Is this true?

Love / Sending flowers to my Polish boyfriend [73]

Is his favourite one a fox?

actually its a tiger, but we do have a donkey too.. except that one is mine. I dont think many guys would admit to this, but secretly like them.
