UK, Ireland / Polls for Poles in the UK [178]

Your government didn't pay a penny for it.

I don't know how many more time that has to be said.

The UK had nothing to do with it....Paid for by Poland..organised by Polish people...OK they were breathing air in the UK, but I thought that was free anyway

UK, Ireland / Polls for Poles in the UK [178]

I think the above states that it is not British taxpayers who are bending over backwards to help Polish voters, but Poland who is helping Polish people use their right to vote. if all Polish people in the UK with a vote turned up at the embassy it would be a logistical nightmare, it made sense for them to open polling stations around the country.

I work as a Poll Clerk during elections in the UK, the European elections are funded by Brussels, all people with a right to vote in the EU are able to vote at their nearest station. When I worked at the last European Election, plenty of Polish people came in to vote, as is their right to do so as members of the EU

Love / I reckon I've met a right plonker here - your thoughts please [44]

Your soul is being staged a scene in which you are the lead, and the director, based on your choices, or ability to recognise there is a wise choice. You missed this the last time, so, the cosmos is replaying it. You're being tested. Life is holding a mirror up to you...when you see the bad choices of the past, you won't make them again.

UK, Ireland / Do polish people honestly think its a better life in the uk? [17]

Everyone with a rough life. Jumps the first available transport.
To England.

Nothing new there, the first lines from the song Mountains of Morn, summed that up

"Mary this London's a wonderful sight
they're digging for gold here by day and by night
at least when I asked them that's what they told me
but for all that I've found here I may as well be
where the mountains of Morn run down to the sea"

History / Polish Jews - they changed their Jewish surnames to Polish [532]

I know that Poland did nothing to help save the jews during this dark time very few poles had ever help they were glad to see jews killed. and help the nazi,s and before Germany there was a lot of anti semitism there. I know through reading history and what my husband told me what his father said.

would you care to share these references with us. What books/comics did you read these 'facts'? Could you give us titles, ISBN numbers? I would love to see the evidence to back these statements
