History / 70th Anniversary of start of WWII [50]

Going to graves would be a good touch. Honouring the noble dead is a good cause. And also a sign alongside the 'Arbeit Macht Frei' saying, Go Stick It!! I feel like Dexter, the need to take out evil in this world.

USA, Canada / FIRST POL-AM CATHOLIC (?) PRIESTESS [72]

I was referring to SeanBM's statement where JPII admitted his mistake, that's all. Yes, it is your duty and privilege to protect the RCC against bomb throwers.

The word righteous springs to mind. Even an insinuation that the RCC has done anything wrong attracts attacks.

Love / Polish Girlfriend gone missing [154]

There is proof to confirm that stereotype. I remember one girl here who helped me (work relationship). She grew fonder of me and one night she came back to my place (back in early 2005). She explained how she felt and she tried to initiate things. I was nice to her at work and we kept chatting. I wasn't tagging her along. In my eyes, we were just doing what friends do.

When she wanted a relationship, I told her that it couldn't happen. She got angry and just stormed off. Wow, is friendship not good enough?

Life / POLAND'S QUASI-BROTHELS? [21]

Fair enough but the Dutch are very smart people. They are fully aware of the pitfalls that may lay in store for them.

The current Scottish position, well, I don't know. It was the Sexy Sauna case in Edinburgh which governed/governs this area.

Brothels and Poland? Hmm...now that depends on the mafia's powers of persuasion. The mafia often get their way.

UK, Ireland / No Irish Need Apply - Polish Builders get their own back [42]

English evolves, Jethro (I'm listening to Jethro Tull, you're not Ian Anderson, are you?). Gotta get used to it.

The Irish are easy to understand for me.

No Irish Need Apply, that's blatant discrimination. I can't imagine many Irish workers wanting to work here but, who knows, builders are actually paid reasonably here. In relative terms, in some places, very handsomely indeed. I know from discussions and answers to Callan Method questions.

Tell me about it. Thankfully, moods wash over. It's the permanent future that you have to work on endlessly. It's the never-ending attempts to reconcile different visions that grinds you down.

Shrugging your shoulders is sometimes the best approach :)

I'd rather discuss such things with you via PM, Justy. I know what you are going through.

History / Fall of Communism in Poland [33]

This would be good to learn more about. I did this in class yesterday and really teased out a lot of info.

Love / Polish Girlfriend gone missing [154]

I can see what your lad sees in you, Justy. You are a super chick!! No offence but I think some Polish girls (NOT yourself) don't really know how to fully love. I look at their behaviour and actions and I just see distance, game playing or deception. Just an observation, different eyes see different things ;)

Love / Polish Girlfriend gone missing [154]

As ever, the voice of reason. I'm with Justy on this one. I previously said to give it time but some girls just drop you like hot cakes. 'Love many, trust few, always paddle your own canoe, mate'. I've had 3 GF's who have claimed to have, and actually did on occasions, show(ed) me love. How quickly they scamper and start new relationships. It makes you wonder why you should even try.

Fook em, man. There's only one person you live with your entire life, every waking moment, and that's YOURSELF. Be true to yourself and move on.

I've learned, through time, to use my judgement better. I have no reservations about being abrupt or harsh with some people. Sometimes, you have to be cruel to be kind.

Food / Pierogi (polish Dumpling) Lovers Here???? [76]

I agree with Wrocław, a tuna melt pierogi would go down a treat with most people. There is scope for versatility here. Poland has a broad enough range but hasn't really explored the wealth of options/various possibilities.

Even stringy cheese inside would be nice. Mushrooms certainly find pride of place, as does cabbage, but there are many other permutations.

News / No Way, No Apology! Poland has every right to support Georgia! [115]

Putin pulls the strings, everyone knows that. Putin commands a lot of respect in national opinion polls. In democracy, that counts. I'm not aware of him rigging any elections. A blast from the past? He's a force to be reckoned with in the present. I must come across as very pro-Putin. I'm not, really. Objectively, he has worked wonders on many levels. I like Kasparov, his nemesis, so I can't be that pro-Putin at all.

News / Doda - Kaczynski - Tusk - any connection? [17]

In Scotland, we say that sb who is stupid is a daftie or just daft. Close to Daffy which the Kaczyński's are. Donald and Daffy, LOL

I thought Parma was in Italy. Got any cheese there in Parma? Parmesan for example.

Life / NANNY STATE in POLANd vs RABBLE? [25]

Lad culture. Nationalist disrespect of foreign elements. Cutting loose without barriers. They don't give a Castlemaine XXXX about the church.
