not as well as it could be ...... I don't think being economy without heavy industry, research and financial system of our own is good!

And costs of living close to EU average but wages pitifully small - what good about it and who is getting a difference ....

Nationalism ruled, minorities suffered...Poland invaded other countries, had two wars, got overrun and destroyed in the latter...and all that in such a short time! When you call that success..

This is our part of the world due to partition of Poland others were playing here and its takes time for them to get use to the idea they cannot do as they please!

For the same reason why PSL is silly party. They care only about votes either Poles or peasants. Voters views in this case are less important than same fact of them being Poles or peasants.

Facing a fact that Lithuanian government is discriminating them because their are Poles is only natural to build support basic on nationality.

Poles are majority of Danzig, maybe, 300 years at best. The rest of the time it was Germans who made up the bulk of the population.

They were destroyed during the WWII and this is the only reason why they even needed help. Poland was destroyed too but even before WWII wasn't very developed to begin with. This is my point!!!

Point - everything that belonged to Poland in the year 1772 should belong to Poland and is not greedy or stupid - its your attitude which is really stupid, Ukraine allied with Poland have every chance to became truly strong and independent country, quarrel with Poland and you will end as Russian province, about what a few square miles ? What it is compared to Ukrainian territory?

You could have find stronger voices in Britain doing the same - Kim Phillby and friends !

And regardless ethnic Germanic majority in the later history of the town, it belonged to Kingdom of Poland, till partition.
