Russian Defence Ministry has accused Poland of being responsible for World War II in an article published on its official web site.

polskieradio.pl/thenews/news/artykul109516_russia_poland_responsible_for_ww_ii_.html

Russia: Poland responsible for war.
Germany: Poland responsible for holokaust.

Who's next in line to tell what else Poland is responsible for?

Hitler made those demands because he didn't want Poland to become a superpower and he was trying to sabotage it!

Russia: Poland responsible for war.

Given what Vladimir Rezun, a personal friend of mine, has to say about the real causes of WWII (and what he knew before defecting from the UN in Geneva to the UK), it's not surprising that the former USSR tries to deflect attention for starting the war!

It's not fair because one country had the promise to become the most powerful in Europe and others around it were so jealous they wouldn't let it happen. It's an allegory for what happens to us great people. We get picked apart by the low lifes and underlings. Sometimes they make pacts against us too. It becomes a lynch mob mentality. It creates mediocrity and puts a halt to advancement and progress.

I'd get pissed if a civilized country like Germany issued something like this, from Russia it just the usual bullshyte, we should just ignore them its not like anyone takes russian history version seriously given how redneck their political elites are.

There some idiots who really believe in this. One of the opinion written by 45. old Russian in other forum:

militaryphotos.net/forums/showpost.php?p=4176677&postcount=8

And what do you think?
PlasticPole 7 | 2,648

And what do you think?

I think it's people trying to shift the blame around because they feel guilty but it's in the past and maybe sooner or later we should let the past be and move on into the present and future? There isn't anything anyone can do about the past anyway so all this is kind of pointless,.

Well I agree with you, the problem is that history tends to repeat itself. Especially when people draw wrong conclusion based oh fake facts...
PlasticPole 7 | 2,648
5 Jun 2009 /  #24
There's always going to be people who twist history around. You have to wait until it actually starts repeating itself to worry and right now it's not doing that. Is it?

What they are doing in that article is discussing it and it doesn't sound too different from what I have read posted in threads on this forum. Russia is blaming Poland for not accepting German demands prior to the invasion but it's just BS because Germany's intent was to weaken the Polish state because it didn't want competition. It's so obvious.

"Adam and Eve were Polish....on their Father's side"

That is awesome :-)
All what I would say about Russian version of modern history is:

"It is a lie! Copernicus was a women!" (around 7:02, and 7:50)

For clarification, those two poor guys is Poland in this allegory ;-)
I feel sorry for non polish speakers now... It is great movie in polish :-)

But this moment expresses my feelings and is easy to understand:

"K... mać..." (around 0:50)

Heh, I almost sad now that there is no censorship in Poland anymore. If it were I'm sure that some artists would invent proper response to this kind of "view" of history...

Hm... but maybe, just maybe this crazy Russian colonel is on the right track ;-) :
"How I broke out WWII" begining (around 8:00):

I don't know which one of this two commedies is better, but if anyone of you here try to learn polish those two movies are must see for you.

PS. Didn't Poland drop nuke on Hiroshima?

read it before you get pi**ed off. Germany disagrees with Russian version.

You missed the point, i'd get angry at Germany cause its a civilized country that knows better, Russia is still hunting sabertooth tigers with spears so there's no point in getting mad, world talks with Russia becuase its big and sits on an arsepile of resources but no one really takes it seriously on cultural or historical fields.

Russia removes 'anti-Polish' article
Created: Friday, June 5 2009
The Russian Defence Ministry has removed an article about Poland being responsible for WW II from its official web site.

After protests from Poland's Foreign Ministry, Russia's counterpart writes that it seeks to distance itself from the claims included in the text and assured it is not an official stance of the ministry.

Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski was contented that his ministry managed to defend Polish view of history and reveal the truth.

The article, written by Colonel Sergey Kovalov from the Institute of War History and entitled, History - against lies and falsification, wrote:

"Everyone who studies the history of WW II without prejudice knows that the war started because Poland refused to satisfy German claims.

However, not everyone knows what exactly Adolf Hitler wanted from Poland. His claims were rather moderate: to incorporate the Free City of Danzig (currently Gdansk) into the Third Reich and to let Germans build exterritorial motorway and a railway [through Poland] which would join East Prussia with the rest of German territory."

I would say he would had a point if Hitler had stopped at that but hindsight shows clearly he wouldn't had stopped at that and an invasion of Poland and later of Russia was already firmly fixed, so no...it's just an academic thought game!

You are absolutely correct and that fact is not even debateable.

By the way, I left out one future headline in my series of titles. Here it is;

"Bratwurst Boy surprised to find out that both of his parents are 100% Polish"
