News / Peculiar opinions about Poland [33]

Most Poles after 8th grade get a job and are not required to continue studying in a liceum or technicum, or whatever.

What a utter bulshit. And than you are suprised that someone calls americans stupid. Where did you hear something like that? 99% of Poles after 8th grade go to the liceum, technicum or to the trade school (szkoła zawodowa).

Life / Polish Police - my bad experience. [33]

The Polish Police looks better then the one here in Canada!

its been taken from this documentary about BOA:

Chris Ryan Elite World Cops: BOA

The author and former SAS soldier shadows the world's most remarkable police units as they confront crime on the frontline. He travels to Warsaw to meet members of Poland's elite BOA police unit, originally established as a counter-terrorism force in 2001 but now engaged in a battle to tame the organised crime networks that smuggle drugs, weapons and people across Europe. Ryan joins them as they seek to arrest a suspected arms dealer with links to the Russian mafia.

Part 1/5. links to the rest are on the right.

Language / How to use "jak długo" ? [3]

since when

od kiedy or jak długo

Od kiedy mieszkasz w Polsce

Jak długo mieszkasz w Polsce

for how long

Na jak długo or Na ile

Na jak długo przyjechałeś do Polski

Na ile przyjechałeś do Polski

when in the future

Kiedy or Za ile ( godzin, tygodni, miesiecy... - hours, weeks months...)

Kiedy będziesz w Polsce ( kiedy is for more general qs, you dont know if its matter of days, weeks or months so the answer could be also more general - Za pare tygodni ( in a couple of weeks))

Za ile (dni...) będziesz w Polsce ( za ile you use when you know that smth is a matter of hours, days, months ... but you dont know precise time - the answer is usualyalso more precise - Będe w Polsce za 5 dni ( I'll be in Poland in 5 days))

I'm not a good teacher and I dont know if my answers are helpful but maybe you'll understand a bit from this explanations :)
