USA, Canada / My wife's US permenant residence card interview [15]

regionpolski as a husband is the sponsor :)

Does the spouse automatically become the sponsor after they get married? I've been told the spouse has to have a good paying job or else they don't qualify. Is that true? What sort of proof is needed to show that someone is qualified to be a sponsor?

USA, Canada / My wife's US permenant residence card interview [15]

Thank you for telling us how the interview went. I was on the edge of my chair as I read it. Is the permanent residence card the same thing as the Visa or green card?

What will happen after the three years? Will she get American citizenship?

USA, Canada / My personal (Polish) view on USA. [105]

has anyone else noticed the appauling driving in america...?

Noticed it? We live with it.

and don't forget Honk if you love jesus!

No, bubba, don't honk. Nowadays you'll get shot. And bubba, if you see someone who doesn't have their headlights on, don't do anything. It's a trick. They'll shoot you if you warn them.

Love / HOW MANY TIMES CAN YOU LOVE IN A LIFETIME? Once, twice or many ... [70]

It's definitely possible to fall in love more than once. It might seem like that one real love is not possible to find again but it does happen and it's more intense the second time. You feel more alive and free with the new person because you've already loved before. You know how not to take it for granted and how to enjoy it more.

Love / How to get to know a polish guy better? [102]

lol. If you want, I can call him and pretend I'm you and get a date for you. :)

Seriously, men don't pick up on hints. If you feel too shy to ask him out face to face, ask him out in an email. It might seem like he knows what you want but he probably doesn't. You have to spell it out.

Love / What does a Polish girlfriend expect from a relationship? [17]

I dont understand her mood swings at times.Sometimes she is showering too much love and at other times she is cold and distant. I had wanted a stable relationship with her where i can predict her at all times to see if she is suitable for longterm.

Not all women are like this. Exactly how cold and distant does she get and is it for no reason? You express that it is an unstable relationship. That doesn't sound like a good relationship.

Is this is a sign of immaturity on her part?

It could be. Young women sometimes don't understand how fortunate they are to have someone who loves them. They can easily take a man for granted.

what does a polish gf want or expect in a relationship in general ?

If you really want to continue with this type of relationship, just be consistent. Don't let her mood swings affect you and cause you to treat her differently.

USA, Canada / Store with Polish Speakers in Chicago to buy suit [11]

It sounds like she's probably just trying to do everything she can to make it work. It must be hard not having control of your own fate. Good luck with the interview!

USA, Canada / My personal (Polish) view on USA. [105]

Many homeless people are drug addicts, which is a serious problem in the US. Some of them have been released from mental institutions because there isn't enough room. Others can't afford to pay for housing because the cost of living is so high.

Medical care is expensive and many people can't afford it or medical insurance. The government offers free medical care for those who qualify but it's very poor, limited care. Emergency rooms are often overloaded with people and it can take 8 hours or more just to see a doctor. It can take weeks or even months to see a non emergency doctor.

Guns are easy to get here. And most people who use them for "shooting festivals" have mental problems. Mental problems are a lot more common today, especially among children who grow up to be troubled adults. There's a lot of autism now. Some attribute it to toxic chemicals in the environment.

Love / Polish men and sex [89]

but the only thing is sex..... he seems strangely uninterested.

are you saying he doesn't get physically aroused or is it that he does get aroused but holds back? I'm confused.

but thats cos you are a guy so maybe you dont know about what some women really think and feel about sex. You may not wish to believe it, but its true that there are women who think and indulge in sex more than some men. ..not saying its the norm, but it happens..

I agree sapphire. I think some men don't realize the constant biological need that women feel and struggle with. Since women don't broadcast it all over the place like men do, maybe that's why they don't realize it.

And also, women are more cautious because they're the ones who can get pregnant. Men can just indulge with whoever and go on with their lives but some women think about how it might change their life if they were to indulge with whoever. Maybe that's why men get the idea that women only care about having sex in a relationship?

Love / My Polish boyfriend never says 'l love you' to me, what should i do? [93]

i asked if he loves me, he said if he loved me he should have married me. he likes me a lot, but not sure it is love or not, and that we can keep the relationship, until i find someone else.

It sounds like he told you long ago that he is not planning a future with you. He wants you to eventually find someone else. Why torture yourself with all the questions? I think you deserve someone who really wants a future with you. It might seem like he's the only one for you but time will make you forget him.

Love / I cheated on my girlfriend (I'm British, my gf is Polish) [167]

sad guy, I agree with everyone. Women might feel compelled to forgive and stay with someone at first but as the days go by, the truth starts to really sink in and then the anger starts to grow.

But the good thing is that you've only been together for a year so you're still at a stage where you're both in love. She may want to keep the relationship going because of that. It's bad when you've been together longer and you're not that much in love anymore.

News / Poland's overall view on the US? [38]

USA invaded Afghanistan and Iraq not because of Al-qaida, but because of the oil.

I think every American is aware of this idea. That's what a lot of the protests were about.

He’s just being used by American government to keep American society in constant fear.

And to make things worse, it seems that every single person who makes a terrorist threat against the US or attempts an act of terrorism claims that they were sent by bin laden. I don't know if it's true but that's what they usually claim. The US gets terrorist threats all the time, for public gatherings, sports stadiums, parades, buildings...

Besides, while we can move freely throughout the whole EU, we have to get a visa in order to go to USA.

And it's gotten even harder to get one since 9/11.

News / Poland's overall view on the US? [38]

If Americans leave Iraq will most likely descend into a civil war. If they don't more Americans are bound to be killed by insurgents. It's a lose-lose situation. :(

That's very true.

but in details It was completely screwed up, that's why Iraq now is such a mess.

I think that's why certain advisors were removed from their jobs, because it turned into a mess.

Love / How to approach a tall and good looking Polish guy? [15]

Should i just leave a note at the b&b and see what happens or wait until we bump into each other in the local store and just smile at him and see what happens.

I think you should find him and approach him instead of just waiting to bump into him. And just say hi and ask him what his name is and ask him things about his life.

News / Poland's overall view on the US? [38]

I think Bush's original plan was to go into Iraq, take out the leaders, and allow the people to freely set up a new government. Desert Storm, which was led by Bush's father, was a quick war and it just seemed like this war would go as smoothly. However, they faced situations that they weren't expecting. Here in the US we're always shown reports of "insurgents" and suicide bombers in Iraq and they are portrayed as the reason the US can't just leave. If they leave it would mean handing the country over to them. I don't know how true that is. It's just something we see in the media.

Something else we often see in the media is that the people of Iraq are not moving fast enough to restore order in their country. The US is there in the meantime, but they are planning to get out by next year.

Love / Met a polish girl... [27]

How can you not be attracted to her because she's hot. I don't get it.

Maybe because having a hot body doesn't automatically mean that person is your type.

Genealogy / Does he look Polish? [20]

Even though he's British, he kind of looks hispanic to me. I don't know why. I've seen a lot of hispanic people who look like him. He could also pass for Spanish. Just my opinion.
