Travel / Tips for driving in Polish cities [29]

Just don't drive this fast. Do you have hill climbs in Poland? I loved these as a kid.

I've been to this track a few times,

https://polishforums.com/archives/2005-2009/travel/tips-driving-cities-20907/ these guys go balls out. I'd kill for a go at this. Nailing the throttle, hey yes!

My friend WB will like this kinda thing :)

Here WB, especially for you. youtube.com/watch?v=p1eeLdhmts4&feature=related, short but sweet. The Westfield is an English motor I think.

Love / Are Polish men generally possessive? [51]

Many are. many aren't. Generally yes as they hold their women in high esteem. They are quite a catch in their eyes.

Love / Breaking Up Is Hard To Do, Especially In Another Language! [46]

Sorry, Poles accept/do brash. You don't help yourself here by being too sensitive and sentimental. Most Poles are rugged and just don't work that way, Cardno. My version was, if anything, on the weak side.

You have to be cruel to be kind and I wasn't on this occasion.

Chcę być wrażliwy i taktowny z tobą. Zauważylem, że zazwyczaj narzekasz/marudzisz i nie podoba mi się. I dlatego, że chciałbym mieć dystans miedzy nami.

I want to be sensitive and tactful with you. I've noticed that you usually complain and I don't like this. Therefore, I'd like a little distance between us.

News / Poland..wake up to a multicultural world [1059]

The moment that Muslims start overstepping the mark, we'll be coming down on them like a ton of bricks. We gave them a home from home and allowed them to set up shop. We can live alongside them in relatively peaceful coexistence but they'll be doing themselves a large disservice if they decide to bomb the Tube or something similar. They are radical factions tho, not ordinary Muslims at all.

Chciałbym żerwać/rostać (się?) z tobą. To nie jest łatwo Ci powiedzić, ale muszę. Wolność jest bardzo ważne dla mnie.

Something like this. I need more writing practice in Polish. Well, I need practice full stop as I've only had one class in my life so...

Overrun by Muslims? That's way off. The moment Sharia Law gets implemented, I'll believe you. We just preach religious tolerance.

Food / When did kebab and Vietnamese "bar" come to town? [15]

Vietnamese food is superb. I had some in Aberdeen, Scotland. Also in a classy place called Asian Kitchen in Hiroshima. There is a place here called A-Dong, rather unfortunate (a bit like Fuk Mi in Seoul), but I have to go and try it out. There is a place on the market square called Kim Lan, they dish up some quality Vietnamese fare. Pricey as hell but the options aren't exactly too crash hot.

Love / Whose Life is it? Polish girlfriend under family "house arrest" [224]

The half built house is still probably half built ;) I repeat, calling can put things right.

September is September, it is February now. Sorry, I've heard it too often with Polish women. They have their own agenda and that's that.

The mules are bowing down and tipping their hats.

Love / Whose Life is it? Polish girlfriend under family "house arrest" [224]

The bit which is a dead giveaway is "she felt the need to go home and explain". What's wrong with calling and talking? Why spend all that money on a flight?

Sorry, that's fishy. Wasn't it Morrissey who once said something like 'an inbuilt guilt catches up with you and it wakes you up and it laughs in your face'? She clearly had that.

She put herself in that position. Her ex had to accept that it was over but they don't. Don't be part of a game my Celtic bro, it's not worth it.

The fact that you are a foreigner has a significant bearing on their actions. He has likely concocted a cock-n-bull story, totally fabricated. Words damage, actions can cripple.

Keep pursuing it, the ball should be in her court. One thing stands out from your post tho. How on earth did he come to know? He left, all he had was mere speculation and supposition. Either you are telling porkies (which I don't want to say) or she has blabbed out of guilt. It squares with what they do, a perceived shortcoming of Catholicism.

Exactly, welcome to the world of deception. Espionage anyone? ;)

Sorry, I don't want to sound insincere at all but always act under the assumption that they will return to their boyfriend and you, as a foreigner, are just a casual shag.

Women have this gnawing away at them, many Polish women I've met fit that bill.

I tested this out over 3 years ago. I let a secretary get close as she wanted to. Not too close though. I told her that it could never work and she went running off back to her ex. Quel surprise!

History / Jewish love towards Poles [389]

My student today told me that his school was racist. When I asked him how many blacks were there, he said none. He was talking about the Jews. Isolated case tho.

News / Polish engineer beheaded in Pakistan. [347]

Pakistan would not start a war with Poland, I agree. It's Hamas who have their grand plans, specifically referring to Eastern Europe (Poland is Central but people think of Poland as such)

Good answer, DPe (sorry, couldn't bring myself to call you DP). One less country receiving contributions is a sacrifice worth making given the factors at work. These people really need more protection. I've heard stories from 2 friends asking for maximum security. One went to Nigeria, the other to Kenya.

Feedback / yeah I am pretty sick of the bullying [17]

Here comes ukpolska to try and throw his weight around. It's so funny, the whole idea of challenging others over a forum in such a fashion. Complete cowardice!

It is complete savagery of the worst form. Which begs the question, what was he doing there that was more important than self preservation?

News / Forget Ukraine! The question is: " Is Poland going down??" [36]

I buy into that, Crno. Why? Because there are so many specialists and forecasters who would have foreseen it and put precautionary measures in place. Certain powers wanted it to happen. A firm like Lehmann Brothers knows the industry inside out.

Poland is aware of the problem, that's the first step. Tusk has some rescue packages set aside but let's hope he doesn't need to use them on any notable scale. Poland can put some prophylactic measures forward but the problems will come from outwith. Most significantly, a loss of investor confidence in banks.

News / Poland to make cuts amid gloomy economic forecasts [30]

You wonder how work contracts are affected. Under Employment Law, it is technically illegal to lower salaries in such a fashion. Bankers have to realise that they didn't put the brakes on and actually encouraged loans. The magazines did their part to encourage overspending.

Unless I have my blinkers on, Poland is a huge credit nation. Their sums just don't add up so I'm quite sure of it. There have been hysterical reactions to the financial crisis here but it has real applicability. Therefore, hard times lie ahead.
