Language / Recommend a text book for learning Polish... [10]

Has anyone else used this book, and did it help them?

I bought this when I was first learning (my copy came with only one cd, probably not the complete edition).
I didn't find it particularly useful. For me it got too advanced too quickly. Maybe it's just me! Perhaps the new, complete edition is better...

Travel / PLANES VERSUS TRAINS ~ WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS? [32]

and in between are squeezed in as tightly as possible into a tiny seat

Sometimes, depending on how much luggage you have, it can actually work out cheaper to fly Club Class (on one of BA's routes). Probably not in your case, Helena, as you were probably travelling as light as possible...

expect at least 20 camels for his daughter, especially if she's a blonde

How much of a camel premium is being blonde worth exactly? I only ask because my blonde girlfriend is in Egypt at the moment...

Food / Multi-coloured Easter Cake [15]

Thanks Piorun. Maybe it wasn't Easter cake then... the top photo (which looked like the cake I had) was tagged as Easter Cake on the internet. It had small pieces of coloured sugar in it.

Food / Multi-coloured Easter Cake [15]

When I was in Kraków (around Easter time I think) I had some really nice cake which I still lay awake at night dreaming of. It looked like the bottom left hand corner of the photo above, but with yellow sponge and it came in squarish slices. Does this ring any bells with anyone, is it really called Easter Cake (available only at Easter?), recipies anyone...
