Love / Soldier born in Poland / living in England. Fiance going away for ages. Complicated... [205]

Justysia's bf seems to have become one for the money

Does the British army actually pay their soldiers enough to make this a worthwhile reason for joining up?

how much will UK soldier net in a year+? $30K $60? Are these really amounts worth risking one's life for?

Exactly

it may seem that the military is the only choice for some young people

Whilst i would agree with this in the case of America and the US army Im not entirely sure the same applies in the UK. Our approach to recruitment appears very different than in America

Love / Polish Gay Life [142]

My friend at uni tells me it is no more racist in Poland than in the UK, and the majority of Polish people I've come across seem warm and open-minded.

Hahahahaha, hahahahahahaha, hahahahahahah, cough cough

Excuse me

How rascist do you think Poland would be if there were as many foreigners there as there are in England?

Polonophobe as usual denying that Polonophobia exists and,

Not sure about this Bubba fellow but I have never denied that Polonophobia exists

What I have said however..

..is dont confuse peoples' dislike for you with dislike for Poland

News / ARE LATVIANS AND OTHER 'BALTICS' HOSTILE TOWARDS POLES? [60]

I also find Latvians and other similar little nations around Poland to be quite Polonophobic

Piddly. In your mind, everyone is Polonophobic, in many instances even your fellow Poles.

We have tried to explain to you that when you encounter what you feel is Polonophobia it is actually a dislike for you as an individual rather than for the nation that is unfortunate to be represented by you.

Are you able to understand this?

A simple 'yes' or 'no' answer will suffice

PS We dont hate you Piddly but we are concerned for the mental stability of you and those you come into contact with.

Difficult one J and I don't envy your situation. Thank you for sharing it openly with us. No doubt this will be a long thread with much said so I'll start by saying it sounds as though both of you are being selfish in your own way and that both of you will have 'battles' to fight whilst you are apart. Only the two of you know if it's worth going through and if you are strong enough together to come out the otherside, better and stronger than you are now.

Good luck in whatever you decide. I think you should let him go off and do what he has to do, deal with it and then get on with a happy life together when he comes back. Plenty more birthdays and christmases to look forward to :)

Real Estate / Buying farmland and keeping it as farmland in Poland [16]

Sure there was a straw house built on Grand Designs a couple of weeks ago - not convincing at the start but once finished was really impressive. Keep us updated on your progress please

Love / moving to poland to be together is this the right decision? [67]

Hmmm... Over the years we have had random people turn up and try to present a picture of Bydgoszcz that is most certainly not accurate. Comparing it to Paris and Prague, as some have tried, does nobody any favours.

Whilst some of Poland sits very comfortably in the 21st C, this is not true for all of it. It's a long time since I went to Bydgoszc and there are many places higher on the list to visit before I return ;)

we live in XXI Century in Poland

Anybody who has spent any time in Poland knows fully that not all the country has moved on from the 20th C and that some have not actually moved on from the first half of the 20th C.

goodlady

Go and live a fun, independent life in Poland.
