Teaching at universities: opportunities for foreigners

I am interested in teaching English, Ukrainian or Russian at university level. Specifically, non research but didactical positions (Assistant, Instructor, Lecturer). I've only worked in Polish private language schools. What can I do to upgrade? Are there any qualification courses or should I apply for 1-2 year grad school?
