American cars just aren't up to the standard of German ones which are better built and, per engine displacement, offer much better power and economy. That's where they won't win Poland over.
My Mrs friends over there recently got rid of a Hummer they'd imported on the grounds of it being a thirsty, unreliable pile of crap. They're now driving a big turbodiesel Merc.
The other issue is that in Europe there are a lot of curved sections of road known as 'bends' that American cars don't reputably deal with very well.
A classic big block American car will always impress visually though.
