Why most taxis in Warsaw cheat foreigners to get more money?

Have you written down the license plates, color and make of the car, and informed the police? From what I know, the taxis have to have a meter and a price list in a visible place.

I reach warsaw today first time and took a taxi from Airport, the taxi diver show me some ID card. I asked how much approximate it will cost me to my destination he said it will be automated as per meter, when i reached my destination he took 250 Zolty for a distance of 10 KM.

I am really sorry about that Sbarik - there are still cheats and its horrible to have a bad experience in your first minutes in Poland. Next time you come, the reliable taxi companies have desks at the airport.

Oh my... my wife with child called from Warshaw crying. Taxi driver raped 100 euros for trip from Central Railway station to Airport. At first said it would be 10 euros, when arrived showed price 40 zlots per km. Shouted and threatened. Night, rain, woman stressed with a child, and gave 100.

It should be 50zl, maybe 70zl at night.

The airport police would have helped - probably arrested the driver.

In Warsaw, if you have it, always use Uber.

I took a taxi from Copin Airport to Central Railway Station. It cost 80€. Should have paid 50 zloty according to the contract. A receipt for 50 zloty was given for the trip. From Central Railway Station taxi to Easter Railway Station cost 120€...504 zloty...surely there must be an honest polish taxi driver somewhere. ..When I have enought money I Will find It.

Is it different in New York?

How do you get taxis now? The rule used to be never take a taxi unless it's company affiliation was clearly visible.... not sure now.
