I think while driving the foto radar flashed and my wife was driving but the car is on my name.anyone has any experience of this situation and how long it takes for the ticket to arrive as it's already been 8 days.

The cops once showed me their photo, and I could see myself behind the wheel. Even if your wife is not visible, she can admit to having been the driver. I don't know if it's true, but a usually reliable guy I know said that the cops can use foto-radar evidence up to six months after the event.

Do you have a proof that you mailed it back to the provided address (ie. a tracking code / proof of delivery)? If so, I'd not bother with it and continue waiting. If not, then I'd like to hear other options too ;)

Merged: Question about mandat

I had a very strange situation tonight,

After getting angry because of some closed roads in Cracow, I made a mistake and suddenly turned in the middle of the street to the other side and 100 meters later, I passed traffic lights when the lights changed to yellow.

Police caught me soon and they said 1000 pln mandat plus 11 points. When I insisted about the light was not red they said okay we will give 300 PLN plus 3 points. (I changed my driver`s license to Polish one I gave it to them with my karta pobytu)

10 min later they came and told me that I am so lucky and I will not get any points or mandat. I was so surprised

The question is if they can send me later any ticket because of this wrong turn and the light thing?

Any ideas?

Not likely you should be ok, any ideas why they changed their minds

No, if they didn't give you anything on the spot, you've got nothing to worry about.

I insisted about the light was not red

This is one of the reasons why I have a dash cam. Two weeks ago I was driving home in late afternoon Friday traffic when cops stopped me for not stopping at a pedestrian crossing when they had done so (they were going in the same direction as me, on the nearside). I would argue that it was a close call, and they might have been trying to trap me - they braked very suddenly - but it is possible that when they saw my dash cam they thought twice about fining me. Of course if could be that they were just really nice cops.

any ideas why they changed their minds

I am just thinking that my ID is a temporary card and my polish driver`s license was given in exchange for turkish one. Only possible explanation comes to my mind is they were not sure about what to do because of my papers. It was so weird that they gave up giving a fine. I surprisedly looked at the police and said `no mandat no ponts, really?` He said yes, enjoy your stay in Poland :)

No, if they didn't give you anything on the spot, you've got nothing to worry about.

I hope it will be like that because I am assuming they caught my U turn from the street cameras, they were waiting in another location, I saw them when I passed the lights.

This is one of the reasons why I have a dash cam.

He told that I could go court for it, that is exactly what I would do, I was sure about it was yellow not red. But I was surprised about not getting any fine for U turn.

I have found the Police in Poland to be ok, certainly when it comes to visitors. (That's my personal view in Silesia)

I got caught by speed camera - How do I get the ticket?

Hi guys, I need your help.

Last year I received TRC (Temporary Residence Card) and purchased & registered in Poznan, Poland.
I also exchanged my driving license to Polish one.

However, since I changed my job so the previous TRC was cancelled, and new one is under process.
As far as I heard from the previous visa agency, they said I can still use my car.

Today I got caught by speed camera and I guess the ticket shall be delivered by post to my address when I registered my car.

But the thing is, I have moved to Warsaw and meldunek has not been process yet (I don't have new TRC yet!)

So how do I receive the ticket then? I am worried if there will be penalty due to late payment.

Long story short,

Car registered with previous TRC (cancelled one) in Poznan
Now my status is under new TRC process in Warsaw

Could anyone help me? small info will be helpful for me... thanks.

Hi, thanks for reply. But what do you mean by "old address post office"? There are many post offices in Poznan I believe, so I am not very sure which one I should go.

And should I visit there in person? any necessary documents to bring with? Sorry for lots of questions but please help me ... thanks.
