About cars, electric and combustion in Poland.

I can't believe it, the Dacia Sandero is the best-selling car in all of Europe. And it's also the best-selling car among private customers in Germany. So the Germans stopped driving Golfs and Skodas and switched to Romanian Dacias. 🤔

In Germany, the number of car thefts is once again increasing rapidly. The most frequently stolen cars are those that open "keyless" or " hand free". I admit that it is very comfortable, I had such a car for 9 years and I still remember it. No one stole it from me, but that is probably due to its rarity and therefore low popularity. Interestingly, my new car no longer has this system, I have to open and close it by pressing the button on the key. Not as comfortable, but maybe safer.

Crow, and returning to the pope, he just got an electric popemobile. So the Vatican is also moving with the times, even though the Pope is 88 years old.

Yes, that's exactly the Toyota I had in mind. The favorite cars of all the rebels.

My uncle loves Toyota. I never found one I liked when I looked for a car.

Celica and Supra, depending on the model, could be beautiful.

I never found one I liked when I looked for a car.

I like the old Toyota Supra models but I got the one I have now for reliability. Most cars to me these days look like square boxes on wheels. I had a Mini Cooper before that but the engine went :( Loved that car but I've had so many unreliable ones. Got to the stage where I just wanted something to get me from a to b.

Because Fenix thrives on flames????

It's true. I arose from the ashes of Chemikiem ;)

The most unreliable car I had was an Opel, I finally sold it after only three years of use for €2,500, investing €4,000 in repairs in the last six months of use. Nightmare.

Now I know you are in good shape. Only Miata is smaller.

Beautiful car, would suit Feniks.

Let me guess: that was an R56, right? I'd love to have an R59 (the two-seat soft-top from that generation) but that engine is just too unreliable to bother with.

Only Miata is smaller.

If you're talking about the hatchback Mini, the Miata is slightly bigger (but a Mini feels a lot bigger inside), although the very early Miatas are about half an inch narrower than a Mini.

Is it the one with the terrible BMW engine where the timing chain is constantly breaking and killing the engine?

It's technically a joint BMW / PSA Peugeot Citroen effort, and the timing chain is just one of the numerous things that cause the engines to go bang, but in general you're bang on the money. The N16 (pre-facelift Cooper S) is particularly bad. Apparently the later N14 (and, to a lesser extent, N18) engine is not terrible if it's looked after but the only way to know for sure if it's been looked after is waiting to see if it goes bang. We've got the first R50 in Poland and one of the last F54, and I'd like an R59 to go with them, but it'd need to be one with an engine that's gone bang that I'd put a crate engine into. Even then, it's a lot less hassle to just run a Miata instead.

What is this?

What is this?

A fully assembled brand-new engine. Literally delivered in a wooden crate.

Oh, thank you.
Returning to cars, even terrorists keep up with the times. This rented pickup truck in New Orleans turned out to be an electric car. ☹

Ha,ha good joke, it seems to be contagious, that Tesla truck that exploded under the Trump skyscraper was also electric of course.

Sadly, yes.

I would never have another Mazda. That was another of my disastrous buys :(

What put you off Mazda? I've had three and they've all been great (apart from the rust in certain places that MX5s are famed for). Will soon be looking for another one (there's nothing wrong with the one I have now but it soon won't meet the requirements for the local "clean air" zone). My mother had a couple of Mazdas too, one of which is still running around (now driven by one of the in-laws) at the age of 26.

Sadly, yes.

It's a real pity about the engine in that generation of Minis. I'd quite like one of the five-door Clubmans (the one with one door on one side, two doors on the other and two doors at the end) but they come with either that sh!t engine or a diesel that doesn't meet the requirements for the local "clean air" zone.
