I'm surprised he could get the words out.

He probably thought Team Europe was Prince Andrew and Ghislaine Maxwell offering him another lift on the plane and a nice massage.

Americans lost.

Unfortunately, there is a clear distinction between cheering and abuse. Rory, in particular, embodies many American traits; he is often intelligent, thoughtful, and enjoyable to watch. While we did lose, there is no denying that we witnessed a historical comeback unlike any other in the history of the Ryder Cup. To be fair, it was a triumphant comeback.

Vincent is a breath of fresh air in the midst of the corrupt UK.

A little bit unsporting, but at least the POTUS offered his congratulations to team Europe. Well done, Mr Trump.

We are talking about New Yorkers, 90% of whom are left-leaning. Those who mistake rudeness for toughness would even abuse their own grandmother on her deathbed.

Jon, apparently Milo's under a different impression concerning Sir Keir.

@Lyzko
Why anyone pays any attention to the dumpster fire that is the UK is bewildering. The English gave up their guns less than 30 years ago in 1997, and now people get arrested and sent to prison for expressing their thoughts. Thats the direction of the UK. Straight to the fvcking toilet. Kier Starmer could be the death of Britain. Digital ID is up next, required for the English, and the Labour party is saying it will slow illegal immigration when all they have to do is what Trump did and enforce the laws already on the books. Starmer is the non senial Biden of Europe.

A damned sight better, Starmer, than the likes of Enoch Powell!!

than the likes of Enoch

Unique and weird.

The digital ID is the same as a few places round Europe. It will only be needed to prove eligibility to work. As for guns, he doesn't realise that it's never been a gun culture there. We had very few and now have even less. Not even the police carry them.

an elegant gentleman, tolerant, maintaining good relations with your neighbors

I had a couple beers with him last night. He is a well-spoken guy with well-reasoned opinions. Sharp as a tack. I don't buy he's in his 80's-he's as spry and sturdier than most 50 year olds. Very personable. A good guy-you could even say he's a gentleman-but getting him to read poetry ain't gonna happen.

Whoah!

I would have loved to be there.

I hope Rich lives to 120, and continues to write here until then.

Hear, hear.

He pretends to be a Pole-eater but, as a little bird told me, in reality he is a great Polish patriot. :)

Starmer is nothing but a socialist on the level of Gorbachov. He has married himself to illegal immigration and the death of London as an English city.
Miloslaw  24 | 5522

I dont think anyone would disagree with your take on these US cities

Thanks!

Do you blame PM Starmer for the present state of affairs?

The Tories were bad enough, but he has made it even worse!

Dog's accidental puddle on the sidewalk is deeper than your political assessment

HaHaHaHa!!!! Lyzko has the brain of a slug!

Since he signed the "one in-one out deal" with the French, there has been 6 out, 3000+ in. What a shambles, how on earth did he think that was going to work?

Because he is an idiot!

Our government is also clearing the appalling backlog of asylum claims as well as any visa overstayers.

Bollox! All this Labour Govt is doing is waving them through quicker to LTR.....(Leave to Remain).

people who obsess about migration.

Who might those be?Ordinary folk that see their country changing and going downhill?People who can't understand why British homeless people are not housed and yet illegal and overstaying immigrants who have never paid into our system getting priority over housing over Brits? Are you nuts???

All this Labour Govt is doing is waving them through quicker to LTR.....(Leave to Remain).

In fact, the opposite. More than any other pgovernment in history, in fact. They are now very strict.

Who might those be?Ordinary folk

No, 'ordinary folk', whatever they are don't spend their time obsessing about migration. They have other things to worry about li'e putting food in t( table, worrying about local factories closing, waiting for new council estates to be finished, and getting a GP appointment without hassle.

And no, nobody gets 'housing priority over 'Brits''.

priority over housing over Brits

That's not true,
Starmer is trying to clear up the mess left after 14 years of right wing rule which is weird as he is perhaps the most right wing PM the Labour Party has ever had (Blair doesn't count as right wing, he is in the war criminal club). The omnishambles inherited by Labour in the UK was always going to be a poisoned chalice.

In other words, all the burdens fall on the hardworking individuals, while policy-making and essential decisions are seen as the domain of slimy leftists and foreigners. Is that what you're implying, Jon?

How many migrants did you deport from the UK since he took office?

Try minus 100,000...

Also...Quoting:

Keir Starmer who said "trans women are women"

No, azzhole. "Trans women" are not women. Those are guys who say they are women for attention, trophies, or because they are fvcked up in their heads.

The scary thing is that the UK is in NATO. If he can't tell a man from a woman, how the fvck can he tell an American from a Russian?

What is the FSB guys self-identify as CIA? Memo to Trump: Ignore the sick moron. He can't be trusted.

Maxine Waters ADMITS Dems are shutting down government to fund healthcare for illegals

The best care for illegals is a 50-cent bullet before they cross the border. A cure for all ailments...

I hope Trump uses this Democrat shutdown to torch even more of their wasteful pet projects, all the climate boondoggles, sanctuary city payouts, foreign aid giveaways, and bloated "equity" slush funds that do nothing for real Americans. A shutdown doesn't hurt Trump - it hands him the perfect chance to clean house and put Washington on notice. Strip it down, cut the fat, and remind these Democrats that taxpayer money isn't Monopoly cash for their useless agendas. DOGE on steroids! Tthat's what this country needs.
Lyzko  46 | 10182

Americans are tired of gov't handouts, welfare cheats, out of control Third World migrants and the like, agreed!
The answer is to make a living to above average wage accessible to
all who honestly qualify and things might get easier. Such might level the playing field,
so that not only the inherited wealthy might qualify for decent housing and medical care.

However, this ain't gonna happen in any of our lifetimes, as once again, the
centuries old, inbred corruption of the Catholic Church in particular as well as
the American addiction to cheap labor, along of course with the proverbial race issue,
will deadlock matters here until the end of time.

Bottom line is that the culture has to change in order for true progress finally to
take root. Since this isn't likely to occur, nothing will change perceptibly except
in one's vivid imagination.

While this is all good, we'll still have the mammoth issue of entitlements. We can (and should) cut fat, but we will still be underwater because of entitlements. You know of anyone who has an appetite to touch those?
Lyzko  46 | 10182

How would you define "entitlements", AntV?
AntV  4 | 800
2 days ago   #145
Like most: government payouts to those who meet the requirements. The big ones being social security, medicare, and medicaid.
Lyzko  46 | 10182
2 days ago   #146
In your view, are not those then actually in dire need not somehow entitled to aid from the state
if need be??

Don't forget, the survivalism of Laura & Alonzo Ingalls Wilder fame was born in totally different
times from those in which we are currently living!

Sure, building our own home/business from scratch by the proverbial sweat of our brow is an admirable
goal, as with many an autobiography, often a lot is (purposely) left out of the picture for sheer public
relations purposes.

We Americans long been sold a Protestant-Puritan bill of goods, namely, that seeking help from random
sources, except perhaps from the Church, is beneath our dignity as humans and the self-reliance at any
cost is the only honorable way to go.

While praiseworthy in spirit, such is no longer really practical and frequently asking for help DOES help everyone
concerned. There is no shame in offering help anymore than in praying for a miracle.
AntV  4 | 800

Your very narrow reductionist editorial seems to be focused on welfare for the poor. Entitlements are much more than that.

Social security and medicare are the two biggest, and they were paid into with the promise of future benefit.

It is my view, that for the sake of honoring these promises and making these entitlements healthy and sustainable some type of reform needs to happen. Same with welfare for the poor-it needs to be seriously reformed.

I personally spent a decade working with the poor and homeless, welfare is abused and it does have a deleterious effect on many recipients. There should be limitations and requirements with more stringent oversight. Eliminating the vast amounts of waste and fraud would give me resources to those who truly need it.

The social workers I know are saying exactly the same thing. There is something inherently wrong in the current system of handing out benefits to all the poor instead of just the deserving ones. There has to be a way to distinguish between genuine need and irresponsible dependence, right? If the system discourages work and thrift, and creates whole generations of people for whom entitlement replaces effort and will to escape hardship through hard work, then it should be changed.

centuries old, inbred corruption of the Catholic Church

But none of that applies to Judaism right ? Lyzko, you are pure as snow. Let's assume our opinions differ. Am I an anti-Semite? Lichwa is the most oppressive form of corruption introduced to Poland by your brothers in religion, considered a sin by the CR church. The repulsive practice of praying on people's misfortune or failure
for your own benefit. Would you condemn the practice and call it centuries-old Jewish corruption?

Remind me which party is favoured by the states which make the highest net contributions per person to the US treasury. It's not the people of Massachusetts, California, Washington, New Jersey or New York that are welfare queens, is it.
