They're actually closing one of the bottling plants that bottles Crown Royal, because they've finally realised there's no point shipping lots of heavy and fragile glass from Canada to the USA when they can just ship bulk containers and then bottle in the USA. And they just happen to have quite a bit of surplus bottling capacity in the USA right now, because global demand for US whisky is down as consumers around the world react to the USA slapping tariffs on so many things.

Impact: The closure will result in job losses at the Amherstburg plant, impacting about 160-200 employees.

The exodus from NYC has been ongoing. Losing roughly a half million people over the last few years.
