Pawian, a serious question - who decides about the cross in the classroom?

It is head teachers` decision based on popular opinion of the majority of students and their parents.

Sometimes they decide that the cross is not enough.

???????? :):):):)

Windows XP operating system,

Yes, what is wrong with that? I still use XP Home. It is enough for my needs.

What else would you suggest? Vista or is there anything new than that?

old monitor,

Hmm, I think I bought it 2 years ago.

Is two years enough to say old about stuff in UK?

Sorry, I didn`t know it.

and a note taking sheet.

Yes, I need it to take quick notes of my customers` details when they call in the evening for lessons/ courses. After I few days, I exchange the scribbled sheet for a new one.

BTW, it makes a nice mouse pad. :):):):)

hahahahah

hahahaha I am glad to make you happy! :):):)

Thanks for your vivid interest, WB.

Really, I appreciate it.

Have you got any other questions?

Communism finished in the early 1990's haha

Yes.

But why do you mention it??????

BTW, did you notice the mess on my desk? :):):):)

How about Windows 7, Vista is 6 years old now.

Hmm, I think I bought it 2 years ago.

You bought a monitor that was not wide screen 2 years ago????? I know we have recycle centers here in the UK that we can get wide screen for about £10, but a new monitor that was not widescreen in Poland two years ago....... where did you buy that? getshiteandrippedoffhere.pl? Youre a LIAR

Yes, I need it to take quick notes of my customers` details when they call in the evening for lessons/ courses. After I few days, I exchange the scribbled sheet for a new one.

HaHa you accused me of taking notes of your posts, because that is what you do. Ha Ha Ha Ha.....You really do take notes of peoples posts, how sad............

Hmm, I think I bought it 2 years ago.

are you sure you bought it two years ago, are you really sure or are you lying again? I bought my first wide screen monitor in 2006, i bought my first wide screen TV in 2003. But Pawian bought his old 4:3 monitor in 2009/2010. LIAR, a complete lie to suit your agenda which furthers my statement that you will do anything to save face on the forum......Even straight out blatant lies..... :):):):):):):) hahahaha

Busted again.....:):):):):)

Why not, but how are they better than my current needs?

Besides, I heard the new systems don`t allow you to play old games. I have a few cult ones from 1990s and wouldn`t like to lose them.

You bought a monitor that was not wide screen 2 years ago?????

OK, it could be 3 years, I don`t remember too well.

But, again, how can a wider monitor improve my life? Do I really need a new one? Mine is sufficient for me.

HaHa you accused me of taking notes of your posts,

If you say so. I don`t remember. Good that you do. :):):)

Ha Ha Ha Ha.....You really do take notes of peoples posts, how sad............

Nope, you didn`t read carefully: I mentioned my clients.

BTW, did you notice the mess on my desk? :):):):)

It is a standard state of my desk unitl I clean it up, like I did yesterday:

Yes, indeed. My current needs are quite basic: forums, mail, news portals, photography, test writing etc. And cult games like Panzer General twice a year.

Yes, indeed. I have always kept away from consumer culture because I am a mean Krakowian :):):):). I used my old Nokia 3310 for a few years because it was so reliable and I didn`t mind when my students scorned me. :):):):):)

i bought my first wide screen TV in 2003.

You still use a 4:3 TV?

There was a period when I (then we) didn`t possess a TV set for over 10 years, actually. From 1991 to 2003 exactly.

WB, I would like to give you more food for thought as you seem fascinated with my life.

Enjoy and feel free to comment on this latest stuff:

You want to assure me that you actually take a crap in a toilet instead of a hole in the floor, i assumed that you did anyway. But thanks for confirming it buddy.

Also the sink thing - i assumed that you did have a place to brush your teeth. Now you're gonna have to show me proof of a shower/bath or I'll think you dont actually have one....

Wrong! It isn`t a sink - it is a toilet mini washbasin. :):):):)

Now you're gonna have to show me proof of a shower/bath

Soon! Be patient!

No more comments on the toilet?

Come on....... it is not your style :):):):):)

Yeah not only that its new to me. The old one stopped working a month or so ago I picked this new one up from work a few years ago. It failed a safety test and I repaired it in August. It has about 5 years left in it.

Really its fine does the job

pawian: How about going to the cinema?

Oops, I am sorry. I didn`t know it is such a sore for you.

I wonder, is it common in Britain to receive disdain/contempt from people if you haven`t got the latest gadgets? How serious is it?

If yes, it is very sad because it certainly fuels "the keep up with the Joneses" attitude, this backbone of consumer society.

I prefer to stay in Poland, where people are not as obsessed with possessing as in the rotten West.

In general I don't think this is the case as most people look for value, and only people with more money than sense buy the latest gadgets when they first hit the shelf. The smart people would wait 6 months or a year and get them at nearly half price.

Only today, a group of people with money to burn, queued up over night to be the first to own a smart phone that has a battery that the consumer cant change him/herself, has no storage upgrade, and maps that have towns invisible or in a different place, The cost of this new wonder phone? £525 for16 GB storage or £699 if you prefer 64 GB

One could buy a good PC/laptop and a £100 smartphone that does more and still have change.
