I think that quality of all networks is similar. Perhaps service in call centers differs.
Most of people move to Play, so I guess that this company has the most fair prices.

Prices:

call costs
0,29 zł minute to all networks
0,09 zł SMS to all networks
0,19 zł MMS to all networks
0,01 zł transfer of data (for 300 kB)

internet:
5 zł 10 MB 150 MB 3 days
10 zł 15 MB 300 MB 7 days
20 zł 0.45 GB 1 GB 14 days
30 zł 1.17 GB 2 GB 30 days
50 zł 3.61 GB 5 GB 60 days
75 zł 5.91 GB 8 GB 90 days
125 zł 11.52 GB 15 GB 120 days

2 GB - 30zł should be enough for 1 months for smartphone. It looks that the bigger packet you choose, the more MB you have per month for the same price.

I use T-Mobile (formerly ERA), and I am satisfied about their network and service. They're prolly not the cheapest, tho.

Play is cheaper, but their network coverage is worse. I have some friends using Play, and they have no signal in some places, including their rooms/flats...so sometimes they need to lean out of the window/get onto the balcony to have a conversation. Especially fun in the winter with -15C! :))

Orange is a bit better, so I've heard, but their service seems to be lacking.

The prices: best to check yourself on the websites, that should be easy to find out.

I am fairly certain that these SIMs can only be used for data (and possibly text messaging), so they might not necessarily be the best choice for a smartphone (unless you are happy to forego the phone part of the equation)

correct me if i'm wrong ,but i understood that the offer here : play.pl/oferta/internet/internet-na-karte/all-inclusive/19.html

is that if you charge your phone with 30 zl (for example ) you'll get a 30 zloty balance that you can use (0,29 zł minute to all networks, 0,09 zł SMS to all networks etc ... ) + 2 gb worth of internet ?

pakiet means that you pay once and get Internet credit only. but in Play you can top up phone with 30pln and you get valid calls for 1 year, so that's not big limitation.

so the 30 zloty = 2 gb only gives you internet credit ?

prepaid:

0,29 zł minute to all networks
0,09 zł SMS to all networks
0,19 zł MMS to all networks
0,01 zł transfer of data (for 300 kB)

Postpaid is only when you sign contract with a company.

Marius, I use Play and the part about people that sometimes need to lean out of the window is probably about me ;-). Play is really really cheap but I hate this no signal thing.

I use Plus. Both prepaid and postpaid. No problem with signal or service so far.

I've heard that Play is cheap but other operators surcharge calls to its network. Is it still true?

Yes and yes.

Do you know the reason why? It always bugged me.

Basically, because P4 (who own the Play brand) is still building its network, it is allowed (by the Polish telecomms regulator) to charge higher interconnect fees for calls terminating in its network. So when customers of say T-Mobile call a number on the Play network, P4 is allowed to charge T-Mobile more than Orange or Polkomtel are allowed to charge for from T Mobile which terminate in their network. Generally the network operators (and the MVNOs) just pass that extra cost straight on to the customer, although not always.
