What's your connection with Poland? Penpals.

how many hundred years

the oppression of women lasted since 966 aka baptism of Poland.
It has been changing recently but slowly and with great resistance from rightists and nationalists like you.

John Dean, if you are a nationalist or rightist, you will feel good in the company of Ironside.

(Satan) he's

... the enemy of God and the Church, like his neomarxist minions.

Yes, before 966 women were free and untamed. :)

the Church,

I thought you stopped supporting the Church long ago. Did you change your mind??? :):):)

before 966

No, before 966 there hadn`t been an official Polish state so we don`t waste time on such Dark Ages.... :):):)

I thought you stopped supporting the Church long ago.

As I mentioned before, my misadventure with the calvinist heresy was a very brief one and I am now fully back into the fold of the One-and-Only, Holy and Apostolic Roman Catholic Church. It was a short period of weakness one might say... miserere mei Domine quoniam infirmus sum, and all that.

You wouldn't like those calvinists either - they want 10% of your wages! Scandalous! ha ha :)

But let's not drag this thread off-topic - we were advising our new friend, John, whom to address when he has a question regarding Poland. I think we can all agree that I am the best person to provide a new member with a truly Polish point of view.

I am the best person

Neither Calvinists nor Catholics taught you that vanity is a mortal sin??? hahahaha

Female forumers have a different opinion........... :):):)

vanity is a mortal sin

False modesty is not much better. :)

Female forumers have a different opinion

Women are complicated - they say one thing, they think something exactly opposite.

Albeit a rather narrow-minded one :)

I think our Polish ladies do a great job of providing a Polish point of view and giving good advice. Both are intelligent and knowledgeable about Polish matters. Pawian also. It's not a competition.

they say one thing, they think something exactly opposite.

Not really.

Good point. The posts from these self-appointed experts consistently reveal an understanding of Poland

I find it hilarious that we're being denied Polishness by a Plastic Pole who wasn't even raised in Poland and a Russophile who was ready to become a Calvinist and is downplaying what the Soviet Union did to Poland and Poles o_O

Did you change your mind??? :):):)

He often does that lol

Women are complicated - they say one thing, they think something exactly opposite.

You wish lol

Your trolling gets boring, Kania.

Albeit a rather narrow-minded one :)

You have to be careful with open-mindedness. Some people are so open-minded that their brains fall out, as G.K. Chesterton used to say. ;)

Your trolling gets boring, Kania.

Worry not, Paulina - school year has already started, academic year begins in October. You will be bored much less often by me soon. :)

was ready to become a Calvinist

Oh, and by the way - Mikołaj Rej, Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski and Stefan Czerniecki were Calvinists. They were quite Polish, weren't they? :)

Such narrow-mindedness, tsk tsk.

Russophile

Guilty as charged. They have a missing part of our soul - woe to us if we never regain it.

OK, to end with something nice...

@GefreiterKania, but I'm just parroting the narrow-mindedness of your fellow "real Poles" :))) How does it feel, eh?

Guilty as charged.

Indeed.

They have a missing part of our soul -

No, they don't. They defenitely do have something missing in their soul though.

Merged:

Looking to move back to Poland next year. Would love to meet new people before then

Hey, as the title says, I'd love to meet new people. I'll be moving to a town very close to Poznań. Ideally friends from here would be best.

About me, I'm Michael. At the moment I'm studying theology and physics. I used to write software but quit for mental health and religious reasons. I'm quite social though also celibate.

My Instagram is @originaldesign.pl

You'll see theology and botany videos there.

I'm also hoping to learn Polish. It'd be great to be in contact with someone with whom I can practice Polish. Currently A0.

Feel free to follow me, I'll follow back. Thank you

Why did you decide to travel from Dallas all the way to Poland, and
without even speaking Polish?

At least I should think.

Your first language is Polish, I take it.
The words are English, but not the hysterical, self-important
ranting sentence which makes one sound like a dramarama.

. Luckily I knew Polish prior to arriving in Poland!

You are boasting again. Your meager knowledge of the Polish language doesn't jusftly your claims.
Also, you should work on your English mister poser - prior lol - you mean before. Showing off. phew!

I should work on MY English????! Look who's talking!!
Without GoogleTranslate, you'd be dead in the water.

Never implied my Polish was perfect, but at least I tried
and was always open to correction and improvement.

How about you in English? Ooops, sorry. I guess your
arrogance got in the wayLOL

Ironside makes many errors so there is no way he relies on Google Translate. They're not typical translation errors, more like typos and dyslexia. Nonetheless he is a good communicator and has his own distinctive style which is not easy to achieve in a foreign language. He is probably a good conversationalist in English in real life and that's really what counts.

arrogant SOAB!

Is that how you normally address your family members and acquaintances (coz you have no friends in the sewer) at Christmas time?? Stop transferring your private habits into the forum. It is pathetic what you are doing.

Since when was Lyzko a family member or acquaintance of mine?

It is pathetic what you are doing.

Quite the reverse, it is pathetic what you are doing troll Jerzy.

acquaintance of mine?

Since the very day you joined the forum???
Who taught you logic in the sewer primary school???

Quite the reverse

Can you try a little harder and invent sth on your own instead of parroting me??? What is your education???

I take pawian's point, Milo.

@Atch, you may be right about Ironside. He sure does a good job concealing it though.
