Should people be free to cut their hair and dye it as they want?

I have noticed that a lot of far right posters, exclusively male, seem to have a problem with people in general and women in particular dying their hair.

Is this another example of the freedom loving right dictating how people should live?

Last time I was in Poland I saw a lot of young people with piercings, tattoos and garishly dyed hair, less so the further from the city I went.

Should a bunch of middle aged men dictate how young people present themselves or should women be forced to replicate MTV from the 1980s?

While I'm not a member of the Morality Police Force here, I feel anyone is
"free" to dress as they feel. Whether this reflects an aesthetic standard or
merely some infantile, repressed personal rebellion or not, remains a separate
question:-)

women in particular dying their hair.

Only young ones. Old ladies with a blue rinse never seem to bother them.

piercings, tattoos

They seem to suit roughly 10% of those who have them, but if people want them, why not? It must be weird and stressful to get all hot and bothered about the way others dress or look.

It has ever been thus since the days of cavemen. Top hats were once criticised as a fad of the young.

Anyway, many of the fascistic boomers of today were once nihilistic late 70s juveniles spraying "sham 69" or anarchist symbols on the bus station walls.

I'd forgotten about the Mrs Slocombe clause.

piercings, tattoos and garishly dyed hair,

As in the punk rock era of the late 70s in the UK. People were disapproving back then too.

I think attitudes in Poland have changed a lot over the last 10-15 years or so. Young people in Poland are becoming less conservative. I remember having a convo with a young Polish guy about 10 years ago who was very disapproving of tattoos. He said only people who had been in prison had them. He wasn't the only person who expressed that view either.

These days I see lots of Poles with tattoos.

They shouldn't but some things never change. Unfortunately, some people will judge purely on appearance.

freedom loving right

Narrow-minded and intolerant people generally.

You are talking about Bratwurst Boy who tried to diminish and belittle anti Israel student protesters in the US by calling them blue-haired wokists. I told him he was troubled with images from his own Germany.

Yes, I must admit his silly remark gave me a little shock, just like it did to you.

He must have watched that video of German Techno Viking many times. Blue haired woman in the first seconds of it.

Why

I'm not qualified to decide how my children should wear their hair?

Why

Why not? I don't see a problem. It is an artificially created issue.
