I may have temporarily left this forum as a whole.because, frankly, it has just got too crazy..... but I won't abandon the music posts.

This song is almost 50 years old, is very English and some things he says are just as true today as they were back then.... "The Arabs and the Jews boys, too much for me".

This song is almost 50 years old,

Phil Collins ruined Genesis.

Divorce music for suburbanites.

Phil Collins ruined Genesis.

I wouldn't go that far.Genesis with Pete Gabriel was better, but Phil Collins was not a bad substitute.Similar voices.

Let's change the mood......

Lovely song.

Here's one of the classics. As I remember he became a priest, put a lot of weight on and died early however this video's from when he was at the top of his game.

Just one post from me tonight on this thread, from the music maestro that was James Brown.....

music maestro that was James Brown.....

I always liked his performance in Rocky 4

But then hes like every ghetto nignog that has money!! He constantly beats up his wife first of all. He took police on a high speed car chase while under the influence. Just to name a few of his felonies. Then he did 6 years in jail and came out and never stopped talking $hit...lol

Brown led them on a high-speed chase through Georgia and South Carolina. He tried to ram police cars with his pickup truck. They shot out two of his tires; he drove on the rims for six miles

This part is funny!
In 1985 the IRS slapped a lien on his 62-acre spread on rural Beech Island,

I like this song...

A bit too much jive and flash for my liking.

the music maestro that was James Brown.....

One of the best; a guy with real talent who beat the prejudice within the music industry and the bitterness from white trash.

Here's a nice one from everyone's favourite hillbilly:

Classic Americana from our bicentennial year of Freedom:) 1976

After all...We invented Rock and Roll, Jazz and Blues.....:)

Some of you did...

The Blues had a Baby and the named it Rock and Roll, its fact!

And another classic

I had an uncle that loved jazz, but from the 50`s like Miles Davis and John Coltrane.

Especially, if Sinatra was singing George Gershwin.

Every Sunday morning he would play his jazz albums.

Janis Joplin did my favorite copy of summertime.

Do you know Ela?

I like all music, but Im a blues guitarist....

Black music sanitised by white boys and most importantly music publishers.

but from the 50`s like Miles Davis

I like that too. The whole bebop era played by people who came back from the war and found there was still segregation. A real (and justified) anger and the raw music that came out of it.

Black music sanitised by white boys and most importantly music publishers.

Sounds like another leftist grievance and you should go protest then.

Also, you forgot about the white "Brits" sanitizing everything American then, especially our music and culture.

Led Zeppelin..... Ripped off every blues artist around.

Rolling Stones...... Kissed Muddy Waters ass as much as they could...lol

I have plenty more examples of Brits copying.....Bring it on.

You dont really have any original music to call your own. Except punk rock and medieval old crap.

"Brits" sanitizing everything American then, especially our music and culture.

But when they sing, they sing in American because that abomination aka British English is unsingable.

Re;James Brown.I had a summer job as a student in a factory working alongside a Yank and an Aussie.James Brown came up and the Aussie and I lit up!The Yank, from Alabama had never heard of him.......

@Joker
@jon357

Too many nice posts from both of you to comment on individually, but you have both done this thread proud!

But when they sing, they sing in American because that abomination aka British English is unsingable.

Oh, put a sock in it Rich! It's true that many British bands sang with faked American accents, but there were plenty that never did.....The Beatles,The Who,The Small Faces,Procol Harum, Pink Floyd,Genesis,The Faces,Led Zeppelin,Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden and many, many more!

USA ruled the roost in the 50's with the advent of Rock'n'Roll, the early 60's was dominated by UK bands, the late 60's psychedelic era was 50/50 between the USA and UK and the early seventies was dominated by UK Hard Rock bands.

When you Brits learn how to pronounce "r" I will change my mind about your language.
In the meantime:

Or fact.

Also, you forgot about the white "Brits" sanitizing everything American then

Except it isn't sanitised for a poor while audience. One reason it was so much better than the pap put out for radio audiences over there.

American accents, but there were plenty that never did..

Here's one that proudly did however they did it all
so much better than over there

Rich, learn some history...... the only reason American's "Roll their R's" is because most of the early British settlers of what became the USA came from the English "West Country", where they "Roll their R's" to this day!BTW, I found your music posts a bit dismal, but at least you made an effort, unlike the trolls on here.

@jon357

Loved the Julie Driscoll post with Brian Auger on keyboards!

the only reason American's "Roll their R's" is because most of the early British settlers of what became the USA came from the English

Yet Elvis was the start of rock and he does not have one drop of British heritage in him.
So that blows your British settlers theory.
And the British that did stay were Christians that were escaping religious tyranny so their music that rock evolved from was gospel music.
The rest was rhythm and blues which evolved from the Blacks from Africa again having nothing to do with the British.
Evis was born and raised a Yank in Memphis and was Mick Jager's idol.
Where do you think Mick learned to wiggle his hips, he copied Elvis.

Rich, learn some history......

Yeah Rich, you and Milo could both learn by reading along together.
America was first in rock n' roll and Europe copied us.
Sorry to pop your balloon, Milo.
No more free music lessons though because this is my last post for the night. 🙄

Yet Elvis was the start of rock and he does not have one drop of British heritage in him.

'Wrong again moron! On two counts.Bill Haley kicked off Rock'n'Roll, not Elvis and
Presley's father Vernon was of Irish, German, Scottish, and English origins.
Presley's mother Gladys was Scots-Irish with some French Norman ancestry.

Ignoramus!!

gospel music.

That did not come from the Brits at all, it was from the African slaves in America...... jeezus! You are SO ignorant!

America was first in rock n' roll and Europe copied us

The first truth in your post! And in the early sixties Brits overtook the Yanks, in the late sixties it was pretty even. But even the Yanks had to have a Brit as the lead singer for The Monkees...... go figure......

But the early seventies saw Led Zeppelin,Deep Purple,Black Sabbath,Pink Floyd,,Genesis and many others surpass the Yanks again!Pretty good going for a small island!

Sorry to pop your balloon, Milo

Quite the reverse, I popped your balloon easily because you know nothing about music......

Bill Haley kicked off Rock'n'Roll,

How stupid can you get.

Presley's father Vernon was of Irish, German, Scottish, and English origins.

And where does the British come in moron.
Elvis was born and bred in the U.S.A.
Just like you are a Brit born in Britain.

rhythm and blues which evolved from the Blacks from Africa

That did not come from the Brits at all, it was from the African slaves in America......

Duh, I do believe that is what I posted, moron.

But the early seventies saw Led Zeppelin,Deep Purple,Black Sabbath,Pink Floyd,,Genesis and many others surpass the Yanks again!

Hardly Bonehead, Bruce Springsteen led the pack in the early 70's.
You were still pooping yellow when I was attending their concerts so that make me the authority here, junior.
I was actually there, you just read Wiki to get your info and copy and paste it.

Medeni Mesec - Uz Moravu vetar duva (along the Morava River the wind blows, old fisherman keep the secret, nobody needs to know for us, my hands fly to you, many thinks you are still a child, but at autumn I will marry you,...)
