A VERY CHRISTMASSY FORUM - IDEAS FOR CHRISTMAS THREADS

Atch  24 | 4379

Right, we're nearly at advent and I can contain my festive joy no longer. I have ideas for a few Christmas threads. Here goes:

Perfect gifts for each other: we post links to what we would put under the tree for each other. I've already found the perfect gift for Novi, just stumbled across it by chance and thought 'oh that's just what I'd give Novi' :))

Send each other a card: post an image of a Christmas greeting for another member.

Christmas trees: what kind of tree would we have and what we choose for other members.

Favourite Christmas songs and music.

Best Christmas memories - no worst memories please, we all have those, we won't include them unless they're funny.

The Polish Forums Christmas party - where would it take place, what food would we have, what music, would we need the St John's Ambulance or Red Cross on standby 🀣

The Polish Forums Christmas play or pantomime: what would it be, who would play which roles?

If I started these threads in December would anybody post in them?

Love you all!

And no, I've been drinking only tea, before you ask.

How very dare you

Jagertee oder Jagatee it's good "tea" from Austria. The Swiss have their schnaps coffee. Both can be drunk on Christmas.

The Swiss have their schnaps coffee.

And we have our Irish coffee :)

on Christmas.

At Christmas, Alien. On Christmas Eve, on Christmas Day, but at Christmas. Btw how did you get so good at English?? And do you speak it as well as you write it? I only wish my Polish were as good as your English.

so good at English

Every little helps. I set the car's navigation to English and talked to her a lot. πŸ˜„ In the meantime, I know how to turn around and where to turn. For example, when she's angry she says make a U-turn.

Favourite Christmas songs and music.

Nothing will ever beat the little Irish kids singing Christmas songs that you posted here years ago.
Then all of them chattering at one time.
What a hoot that was as I couldn't understand one word of it. lol
That took top honors here.

while you are holding a knife behind your back to stab us

That sounds kind of paranoid, you must have many enemies..

Best not mess around with the Irish if youre not one of them

When are you going to get that Xmas Carp for your bathtub this year?

You probably let it swim around with you and suck on your balls..

Yes they would Ms. Atch but unfortunately the same potty mouthed undesirables would show up and take it Off - Topic with their immature hateful insults and ruin it like they have done with this thread as you can see.
A nice Christmas thread with mature Christian posts would be so pleasant and fun without these sick shameless clowns ruining it.
With that said, you know most of us will support and respect your threads Ms. Atch.

Keep crying and brown nosing it's totally hysterical.

mature Christian posts

Like when you tell us were going to hell, but of course youre not...lol

Youre a charlatan as far as the eye can see, so I would be more worried as God detests false prophets.

Hey, do you know who Nimrod was? Thats who you worship with your pine trees.

I won`t send cards. It is a good idea but doesn`t suit apes my age.
However, I am going to celebrate Christmas in my usual style - on 1 December, I will declare a personal moratorium on using bad language on bad people in the forum. No more foul darlings or similar nasties. hahaha
However, I will take the full liberty of mocking them, like now.

I won`t send cards

Not many people under 70 or in certain workplaces do that nowadays. A shame, since they brightened up homes.

If I started these threads in December would anybody post in them?

In a small way. Back in PL soon so things to do. A Christmas recipes page would be good, and I'd guess that some posters (and even more who read here but don't post) would like tips for particular flights between PL and their home countries which are less expensive than usual, any 'travel hacks'

Gift ideas are good too. Nice to get the shopping out of the way or you'll end up getting a Magic Tree and some windscreen fluid from the 24 hour garage at midnight on Christmas Eve.

And BTW, some branches of TK Maxx in Poland have Christmas crackers in stock this year. Assuming they haven't been snapped up,by people who heard about the, on the bush telegraph.

Actually, it isn `t only under 70. I have never sent any cards in my life. There was no need for it for various reasons.

I was pleased when I came to Poland to see so few. They used to be a big thing in the U.K., and a nice way to decorate homes with them on a string or the posher ones on a mantelpiece.

There's also the 'round robin' letters which you either love or hate.

I would say still plenty do. And it drives me crazy. I will never understand a card for someone you see in person ( sendng them to people you don't see is a different matter. I hate the waste!

Or the US. I still keep all those cards which American friends sent to my family, both there and here.

Me too however old people like them and poorer people's homes 60 years ago or less were very bare so the cards brought a little colour.

I still keep all those cards which American friends sent

Finding old ones written by dead loved ones is a nice thing. Seeing their name again.

A priest I know always keeps the cards he gets so he can compare the handwriting on them to that on the anonymous letters he gets, denouncing other parishioners or with mucky stuff about him from lady admirers.

Yes, crazy. That is why it isn`t a Polish custom coz most Poles/Polesses have always been able to naturally see/meet their whole family at Christmas time.
jon357  73 | 23224

most Poles/p*leSSes have always been able to

Even if you live next door, the colourful card still brightens things up.

if you live next door,

No, sending a card to a person living next door would be considered mild madness here. Poles and Polesses are more practical than that. That is why I chose Poland for my home country. ):):)
