Rubbish, the rampant inflation is a one off due to covid and the russian invasion and is falling worldwide. yes it's higher than germany but that is our economy is booming. GDP growth, GDP per capita, unemployment, social mobility, inequality (gini coeficiant,) housing market, small business penetration, red tape, transparency index etc are equally if not more important.

That index needs improvement. It should show how long a person has to work to buy one Big Mac. Five bucks in Poland is not the same as in Monaco.

Amen to that. Sadly, too many in Warsaw were on prime real estate and the premises became something else. The ones that have remained are well used though; one reason I don't go as much as I'd like is the length of the queues, especially at lunchtime.

Nothing was improved. People got more money in benefits, that`s all. Very easy to do. I can also withdraw all our money from the bank and distribute it among our kids. It doesn`t require an Einstein to do.

However, introducing clever reforms to improve the corrupt state of affairs does require a wise person. PiS lacks such people coz those decent and intelligent ones prefer to keep away from PiS.

Mr Prime Minister Donal Tusk published a map of Europe with GDP data. Poland has been affected by the deepest fall. While Tusk was in power, we were a green island on a similar map. Today, we are in glaring red.

I won't envy Tusk if he should manage to win the election. The challenges to Poland's economic prosperity are daunting. The demographic decline will soon become visible, and the follies of PiS will reduce his options even more.

Not necessarily. We got about 2 million mostly young, hard-working Ukrainians and any shortages in labour that still remain are solved by granting thousands of work visas, so we should be all right in the short term.

In the long term, of course, the entire European Union's demographics look rather bleak.
