So rate but good deeds of Polish politicians

I read an article today about Robert Biedron pulling a driver and his 2 year old out of a burning car. While it was a surprise on its own ( I took him for a all talk no game kind of guy) I realised how rarely we focus on good deeds of politicians. So please join me in trying to find some good in those sneaky bastards :)

Here is the article with shots of him with the fire fighters

@Lenka
the history has been debunked by the portal wpolityce.pl who claim that Biedroń's help was not that significant

wpolityce.pl

Pretty much bottom of the barrel as far as credibility is concerned.

I would like to believe it was true. After all this thread is about believing that even politicians can have human and heroic bone in their bodies

I will try and find some more examples of things like that but of course everyone is welcome to share their own examples

While it was a surprise on its own

Such incidents are very rare, indeed. It hardly ever happens to average citizens to rescue sb in a road accident, let alone to politicians.

Good deeds by politicians which I can think of are mostly connected with charity, but they often do it to improve their image so we never know how sincere they really are.

What really happend seems to be that the driver who caused the accident (a policeman himself) got his son himself out of the car after the accident and the first one to help him was a young women. Only after everybody was already safe, it so happened that another car came along whose driver - that Biedroń guy - graciously let her place the toddler in his car to keep him warm. Stipulating that this version Warsaw Police is telling here is true, the self proclaimed heroism of Biedroń is nowhere to be seen. He is at best a funny storyteller and good in posing in front of a camera, but he might also simply be called a liar.

Of course, the police` social media team could also be misrepresenting the facts here, but if two versions of a story exist and the good version comes from a politican only a couple of days before an election, I am inclined to believe the other version a tiny bit more.

the self proclaimed heroism of Biedroń

I'm not sure if it was self-proclaimed heroism on parts of Biedroń - as far as I know it was the account fire-fighters who on the spot gave to the media - as I said wpolityce.com gave quite a detailed account of the event by the father in question

Some time ago I read an article about councillor making citizen arrest on a drunk driver and thought Great! Something to add to the thread but then it turned out the guy scraped his car and most likely that was his motivation and bot the good of society.

I decided to put it here anyway. For anyone interested ( sorry, source in Polish)

retty much bottom of the barrel as far as credibility is concerned.

Still closer to truth than for example Gazeta Wyborcza.
