The most pro-Russian Polish politicians

As in the thread title.

Of course, I don't mean muppets like Piskorski, Maciak or Tołwiński but proper politicians with at least a couple of percent support among Poles and active in/with some influence on mainline politics.

(A) Sławomir Mentzen (Konfederacja) - publicly called for a negotiated agreement with Vladimir Putin to end the war in Ukraine and implied that Ukraine is treating Poland unfairly, made comments aligning with pro-Russian or at least Russia-conciliatory narratives.

(B) Grzegorz Braun (Konfederacja Korony Polskiej) - was praised by Russian media for his positions on Ukraine, voted against the Sejm resolution condemning Russia's invasion, and in 2022 joined a pro-Russian rally.

(C) Janusz Korwin-Mikke (Konfederacja ORWiN) - publicly supported the annexation of Crimea, challenged Russian accountability (e.g. for the Bucha massacre), appeared on Russian TV, and pushed narratives blaming Ukraine and minimizing Russian aggression. Also, notorius for calling Putin "Jego Ekscelencja".

(D) other (why?)

Cast your votes.

C is half dead and a clown.

B maybe maybe

A Probably yes.

There was another one, slightly known to me personally and strongly disliked by me (and vice versa, at least he always looked at us both suspiciously, trying to weigh stuff up) however he's now fallen into the obscurity he deserves. There was a suggestion in the media (maybe realistic, maybe exaggerated) that he is, was or might potentially be a r*SSian agent, however he can do no harm and the Polish intelligence services are competent, professional, know their job very well and care about Poland which they swear to protect. That guy is not now in the news.

Option B and C I think only do it to gain publicity. They love media. They are more in favour of Russia over Ukraine, I think it stems from logical thinking that Russia doesn't have the capabilities to threaten Poland in near future and any effort to weaken Russia and strengthening Ukraine at the cost of Poland is folly cause they do not see Ukraine as a ally but, more of a enemy, rival or not an ally at all.

They might also see through that both PO and PiS try to gain support by supporting Ukraine from the mainstream and media while also pleasing foreign backers at same time and decided to go against it. Honestly don't think Russia has much to do with their thinking right now.

Option A, I think he is too new to Politics and tries to think rationally. Looks at the facts of Ukrainian behaviour towards Poland in comparison to Russian behaviour towards Poland and seems to lack emotions or feelings or disregarding them. Especially feelings of hate or fear towards Russia.

He doesn't seem concerned about Russia at all.
None of them seem to be "big fans" or actual supporters of Russia and I have seen more attempts to blemish them then them actually supporting Russia. Larger chance they will be pushed into the arms of Russia unwillingly rather then them being actual supporters.

D) There are no real options for Russia, at least Putin's camp. Only ones who could potentially been open to it would been hooligans, criminal semi elements and far-right who did not fight UB or ZOMO in PRL. Themselves and their supporters have lived on anti-Soviet/Russian sentiments cause of it and find little reason to like Putin really. As he is still seen as ex-kgb agent.

Nawrocki would had been closest to it if Russia finds a respectable person able to fight and defeat Putin in a manner they find appealing. Then they could gain a entry into Poland. Otherwise it's simply a blind wall and used mainly to smear opponents. Nothing more

C is half dead and a clown

Novi is half dead and a clown and he can still cause some annoyance in the forum. In the same way JKM can still cause some annoyance in Polish politics.

Polish intelligence services are competent, professional, know their job very well and care about Poland which they swear to protect

You should be writing for Polska Zbrojna ha ha

Nawrocki would had been closest

Well, he certainly is not a big friend of Ukraine.

A is a Sperg with no theory of mind and no real principles AFAICT. Like libertarians all he cares about are immediate physical/financial issues directly related to his own self and either can't or won't think in systemic terms.

B is the Polish equivalent of Derek Huffman, willing to support russia only to the extent that it hates some of the same people he does.

C is an aging clown with no constituency and so has nothing to offer moscow....

As in the thread title.

What do you mean by " pro-Russian? Could you elaborate on what it means to be pro-Russian in your mind? Would that be, for example, breaking the mold of pro-Ukrainian propaganda?
Would that mean no to **** off Russians more than necessary, especially when that pissing off is nothing more than talking sh;t? If that is so, you would be pro-Russian.

In general, I dislike the fashion in Poland of dividing politicians based on pro-German, pro-Europe, pro-US, or anti-this or that. How about judging them for their job as Polish politicians?

Good point.

By pro-Russian I meant the perception of their actions by the general society (as in the examples given in the opening post).

Also, being perceived as pro-Russian does not disqualify a politician in public eyes (Mentzen and even Braun enjoy a solid, steady support).

The point being that it is not the perception by the general society. It is pushing such a narrative by some political journalist-hacks.

I wouldn't be so sure. It is, after all, the people - the salt of this earth - who are making internet memes...

Bosak was just speaking in the Sejm demanding all sorts of information be made public (has he never heard of 'state security'?) and russia would be delighted if the government were daft enough to do what he was asking for.....

Bosak was just speaking in the Sejm

Look, there must be at least one moderately pro-Russian party in the Sejm.

Balance of nature, as Pawian used to say.

Pawian

By the way, does anyone know what happened to him?

I've heard rumours that he took his backpack, went to Ukraine to apologise to Ukrainians first and has been missing ever since.

But maybe it's just vicious people talking nonsense.
